I also think they may have coached Nicky on his delivery, but Nicky been rapping for 30 years, he knows how to write. Plus in PR reggaeton and hiphop are rooted in battles and diss tracks. I think he probably got some info from them (Dose's name, URL not booking Math, and other personal details) wrote a verse and then got some editing tips, to make it sound more "battle rap". I wouldn't think he would just have them write his whole verse.

It's no different than when ppl havent heard of singers from the 1930s. Everyone is forgotten over time. Daddy Yankee will be too in 50 years! Lol But that's only because as you said he's still active. How many of the pioneers are still active? Big Daddy Kane last dropped something what, 8-9 years ago? Lol Now, as for the numbers you brought up another thing time affects is how many ppl exist in the world and how many of them even know "you" exist. Older artists most likely would never get as many sales or put out as many albums as an artist later down the line, especially when we're talking about a time in which the genre was still in its infancy. That has a major effect on numbers. Rap wasn't new during the 80s but it may as well had been because ppl were still coming around to it in the US let alone outside it. What that means is anyone that comes "after" you is most likely going to draw bigger numbers because the population will grow larger, and with that comes more exposure. Had it not been for Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Erik B, and the rest then there wouldn't have been artists afterwards like Daddy Yankee that drew in bigger numbers. I say all that to say it's not a fair comparison to pit Daddy Yankee's numbers vs Big Daddy Kane when Daddy Yankee had the benefit of artists before his time laying down a platform in the first place. Had he brought out reggaeton in the 80s his numbers wouldn't have been much different than anyone elses. Probably less because the 80s were more racist to Puerto Ricans than the 90s. Em, Tunechi, hell even Cardi are all worth more and have all outsold Biggie, Pac, and Pun! Lol But what would Cardi B without Queen B? 🤣 Hell what would any of them be without Eric B and Rakim?
