First time I heard this I cried... touched something - jump to the Eurovision final - and most of Europe was touched and he won :) so beautiful! Your reaction to recognising him is pure gold heheh :)
The video you reacted to was from their national final (in Portugal) not the Eurovision final. At the Eurovision final, he performed on his own and when he won he sang it again this time with his sister. This was when he reprised it with his sister. Explanation: After winning the national final (the right to represent Portugal) he became very ill with heart problems and could not take part in most (possibly even any i forget) of the promotional performances, so his sister, who actually wrote the song for him, sang the song during the Eurovision promotional concerts but not during the contest itself (except the winning reprise see below). During the live final as stated, as part of the contest, he sang on his own but after he won he said he wanted to sing it with his sister, which was allowed. this song is beautifully beautiful. the lyrics are moving and he has a wonderfully touching voice with a style of his own that's what makes the magic of this song it's all. if a song touches you without your understanding the lyrics, it is because the person, through their voice, conveys emotions. so imagine when you all understand it is just magic. We have the right to like or not like a music a song because the tastes are different but if you have a little musical ear you will see that it is only of the emotion which emerges from this song . I love this song and others that he sang ❤️
Amar pelos dois Love for us both Se um dia alguém perguntar por mim If anyone ever asks you about me Diz que vivi para te amar Tell them I was born to love you Antes de ti Before you Só existi Only existed Cansado e sem nada pra dar Tired and with nothing to offer Meu bem 😊 My dear Ouve as minhas preces Listen to my prayers Peço que regresses I pray for you to come back Que me voltes a querer Hope that you love me again Eu sei I know Que não se ama sozinho That you can not love by yourself Mas Talvez devagarinho But Maybe slowly Possas voltar a aprender You may return to learn Meu bem My dear Ouve as minhas preces Listen to my prayers Se o teu coração If your heart Não quiser ceder Does not want to give in Não sentir paixão Doesn’t feel passion Não quiser sofrer Doesn’t want to suffer Sem fazer planos Without making any plans Do que virá depois Of what is to come next O meu coração My heart Pode amar pelos dois Can love for the two of us
Yay, someone else pointed out, this was the performance from the national final in Portugal, not from Eurovision itself. You just need to check out videos from the official Eurovision Song Contest youtube channel to react to. The performance at ESC had far more spectacular staging. That Germany video you saw is widely available across Europe and the world- you were probably just tuning in to a clip from posted by a specific German TV station
@@ronnopotter You do not know the difference between dated and timeless ... So, you are not qualified for music criticism. Jazz, and this song is jazzy, is a very active music genre all over the world, what happens is that you are used to the generic commercial pop fast food music.
@@catiaazevedo6205 because you are? Tastes in music are different. The fact that I don't like a song or the fact you DO, doesn't give you the right to judge if I am qualified or not. Who do you think you are?
