Totally aggree the yellow red (brigth colors in general) really makes it pop a lot more in small scale

Yep I think I’m likely to go with something bright at this scale. Will see how the Traitor Legions go before I make a final decision.

Very good work, I like it ........only thing I did not go with was the red cross belts on the Dark Angels, maybe gun metal. Bar that very nice.

I’m a Space Wolf fan but waffled a bit as I was worried how their dark scheme looks in this scale. Decided to go for it and I’ve been putting them on a white marble base for contrast, it looks pretty good.

I had the same concerns, and the first test I did I went with a more ‘40k’ scheme, it looked ok but just wasn’t HH enough so went for the darker one in the video. The lighter coloured base is a great idea, and probably key to any of the darker schemes.

Great video! Can’t wait for the traitor’s vid. Will your methods work for painting on the sprue? I intend to prime on the full sprue, after detaching the dreadnoughts, then clip into single rows for detail painting (no airbrush).

Thank you. I think those methods should work on sprue, especially if you’re not using an airbrush. I think some stages would be easier when cut into strips, I might do that for some of mine.

Nice tutorial. I really like the Ultramarines and Salamanders look particularly for this small scale. Out of curiosity do the different legions confer different rules or is it just down to colour preference and the backstory?

There’s a Legion Special Rule for each, I’ve not read them yet though.

Also forgot to add, you can field multiple Legions by using different legion detachments. Something I may do after I have done my main Imperial Fists force.

How did you handle the stretch void section on the figures? Are you just using the armour color to make it blend in?

A mixture of armour colour or black of the Boltgun, they aren’t super bad on a lot of the minis either.

Nice job! I still can't get how GW let those bolter armed legionnaires and some plasma gun armed ones go past the test stage. I'd rather of had a little less dynamic poses than that melted look they carry. Been trying to fix them with some trimming, so far looking better. It's only bad on 8 of the bolter armed ones per sprue so not too bad.

It’s a tricky one, it’s definitely down to the limits of single cast plastic injection moulding, and I get why they didn’t want to have separate parts. But then they did do that for heavy weapons. I guess once all painted and on the table it’s not going to be super noticeable.

Wayland games, they were showing stock, but it turns out otherwise. Wasn't too happy about it, but never mind.

@gerthinatorgaming5952 They used to have a terrible reputation, but I’ve used them quite a lot more recently and they’ve been a good as anyone else. Element Games are currently showing 10+ in stock if that helps.

Even if your Color schemes are very impressive. I first uniformed them "Battle Ready" with a few details. It turned out that the Squad on Base and further on the Table were far too tiny and not needed more work. To be honest I have already bought too many half-painted Minis in my painting Life. Where you can clearly see that the Color scheme was too big of a challenge

Completely understandable, and just making these minis one single colour, painting the guns, and basing would still look great. I’ve also seen some incredibly beautiful detailed paint jobs as well, way above anything I could do. I guess what I’ve tried to do on this video is show how a very simple approach (mostly contrast) works very well, but that you can go further if you wish. There are of course more further extremes each side of that. Thank you for watching.
