Matt was a little to efficient 30:07 with his Leader. 1st action - move 2nd action - attack Ability - bonus move 3rd action - attack 😖 His leaders activation should have ended after the bonus move 👍
Necrotic Siphon doesn't work like that. It states friendly fighter. Time stamp is about the 26 min mark. Rue source is the Legions of Nagash Abiities card. I have it in front of me as I type.
Just a heads up, you are drawing you battleplans cards out of order. (Time stamp 6:13-7:13) Reference pg. 37: "The players next resolve the cards in the following order: 1) Terrain (which I know you don't use) 2) Deployment 3) Victory 4) Twist
You cannot draw the battleplan cards out of order. Reference P.37 the 2 paragraphs immediately before the one you referenced: "...deals one card from each deck, placing it face up so all players can see the card... The players next resolve the cards in the following order:" You draw one of each card first, know what all of them are, and then resolve them in the above stated order. They did it completely correctly in this video.
@@drduncanjames "Pick a visible FRIENDLY fighter within 6 of this fighter (necromancer). Allocate a number of damage points to that model equal to the value of this ability" and it can only heal the necromancer. ""Then, remove a number of damage points from this fighter (necromancer) equal to double the value of this ablility." The parenthesis is not stated in the ability, just added for clarity as the necromancer is the only fighter with the rune for this ability.
Loads of tactics as always which is why maybe no one can walk away before it's all over, as those abilities can sometimes change everything and Warcry reminds me of the original Necromunda many years ago but without the "Abilities" thrown in. Sorry lads I've only had Warcry a week and still in the "getting started phase". At 06.10, I thought the order of cards picked at the start were Terrain, Deployment, Victory and Twist with Terrain being picked AFTER the Dagger, Shield and Hammer are arranged into their respective orders.
So, the card for Raze, since it says "finishes a move within 1" of the enemy's terrotory CAN enter it. Remove that model" As it says "Can enter it" are we assuming it is optional? Otherwise Matt couldn't've pulled off this forced combat.
I will say that ranged armies (stormcast, etc.) seem very strong versus the Legions of Nagash where as close range forces seem to have a hard time with them.
See but I bought all the starter boxes even Storm strike and tempest box and soul wars andthen I bought a box of more spirit hosts and skeleton horde all Nighthaunt vs Storm boxes ; I got starting collection skeleton horde to bring to Legion of Nagesh faction instead of Nighthaunt . If this is true, I don’t get why the starter boxes all come Storm vs night..
You should do a battle report on the new Adeptus custode forge world changes - They got two new troop roles, and the big Grav tanks got nerfed. It's be great to see a competitive list after the nerfs!
I believe there should be a penalty for disengaging, yes I know you can't climb things but I think something like an attack of opertunity even if it's a single dice
I don't have the rule book in front of me atm, but I was under the impression that you cant use an ability after your second activation. So the necro can't disengage, then move, then summon.
Very nice vid, thx! This is the first time I see a whole batrep of Warcry so I'm not sure if it's the game or just the way Matt presents it, but it doesn't really seem... fun? Everyone is engaged on turn 1, so no tactical movement. Loads of nice terrain, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Then, when it comes to winning the game, you do this by running away? Also, the only time there is any real excitement among the players is when rolling the dice at the start of the turn. The rest is kind of a snooze. Then again, I may have missed something vital here...
Go watch more batreps, then. The victory conditions vary enormously, and no two games play out the same way. That said, there are a lot of matches where one side has almost no chance to win due to combinations of scenario victory conditions and armies involved. Those tend to make bad videos and unsatisfying games.
No, I'm saying you'll get no real idea of how any game plays from a single playthrough vid. Indeed, you never really know much until you play yourself, but demo games can be hard to find and if you balk at blowing a half hour watching match you're no doubt equally unwilling to invest time in actually playing. Warcry's a long way from the best thing out there, but it's new enough and plays fast enough that it makes decent background noise while I paint. YMMV.
@@richmcgee434 I see your point, but as you said, 1 batrep is not enough and time adds up. I watch these to see if the game is worth investing in, and by your answer, it seems I should look elsewhere to spend both time and money - so thank you, I will take that advise to heart!
1:54.... you imply that I get things wrong. I'd enjoy it more if that statement was redacted. Ps. Loving these warcry videos. I'm really trying to get my local to give it a try.
