Cool batrep. I don't play AoS but I appreciate this game, your production/editing, friendliness, and yalls commitment to calling out rules and stuff. Keep up the good work!
I love watching these battle reports mainly 40k because thats what I collect, and after 7 years of expanding and painting my dark angels army i have never played an actual game.
@@briancripps496 Because it costs a small fortune to get into this hobby and if you're not playing then I don't see the point. But then again maybe that's my third world ass speaking and people elsewhere can just throw that money into a sink hole and call it a fulfilling hobby.
@@MrMrtvozornik That is 100% your opinion, and you are welcome to it. But be aware that it is, indeed, just that. An opinion, which is very subjective, and is not how everyone thinks. It's a hobby. The game isn't the only aspect of it. I, myself, may only play a half dozen times a year (if that), but I paint models almost every day, and collect models for almost every game system GW releases, including 40k, AoS, Horus Heresy, Necromunda, et cetera. Hell, I have an extensive Horus Heresy Thousand Sons collection and never played a game of HH, as no one else around here plays it. To me, it's a hobby. It's something to do in my free time to focus on, to pull myself away from life and destress on. To get a sense of satisfaction on when I complete models and share them with friends. It's something I can indulge in, and then enjoy talking to my friends about in afternoon or evening lore rants. And, occasionally, playing a game with friends. To be honest, the game interests me less and less as time goes on (and as I get older, I suspect). In 40k, too many people care only about playing competitively, Matched Play, using all FAQ/tournament rules and restrictions, playing the same matched play/ITC/ETC missions over and over again, on the same 6'x4' board with the same level of terrain again and again and again. It's boring, to me, and the more I interact with the community at large (both locally and online) the less I want to play. So here I am, working, payin' the bills, and painting and showing off my models.
@@MrMrtvozornik Oh, and while we're on the subject, while I can appreciate the frustration of not being able to afford this hobby like others can, it is INCREDIBLY rude to take that frustration out on others for no other reason than that they can. I cannot afford a Warlord titan from Forge World, but I don't lash out at people that have purchased one. I'm super happy for them to be able to express their hobby in that way.
All legion of sacrament wizards get +1 to casting, meaning arkhans first spell should have been a 12 (9+2+1). Pg.65 of the LON book. I dont think he gave any of his casters +1 to casting.
So just want to get this out there, but arkhan had a 13 on his first casting roll not 11. He has an in built +2 casting, but he was within 12" of the mortis engine, which is an additional +1, and all legion of sacrament wizards get another, +1 to cast, meaning that arkhan has +4 to his casting rolls. I haven't watched the whole thing yet so don't know if this is addressed, but just to be safe thought I'd bring this up :)
Yeah, you were (sorry, I don't recall your name) playing so freakin well. It was like - how this works?... ahh (2secs of thinking), bam bam. Fantastic man!
So are Legions of Nagash basically the successor to Vampire Counts and Bonereapers sort of the successor to Tomb Kings (or afternoon least an elite undead army)?
@@drduncanjames Was great to have you in the MWG studio for a while; I enjoyed all of your reports! Hope you continue to enjoy your backpacking trip and one day you'll be back on the channel!
You can in the generic rules, although worth mentioning that most events limit it to one per 10 or one per unit. A lot of newer armies also impose this restriction themselves, so not worth doing it honestly as you’ll likely see it changed over time.
yes, you can, now i don't know all the warscrolls, so there could be exceptions out there i'm not aware of, but that is where you find it, each warscroll lays out the rules for the units banners and musicians (if they have them), and like patrick said, they don't stack.
I'm out. Sorry loved you guys for ages. But what's up. I just get nothing from your batreps anymore. I feel you should be showcasing the game. The last 2 sylvaneth batreps. Luka is still teleporting any unit and in this you are just auto adding movement from from the spiteswarm hive. These are not small mistakes. Do custom rules yes but not this.
The guest needs to learn his rules. He is playing Legion of Sacrament all wrong. In fact he’s playing the whole list wrong. He should have been able to stomp Matthew with that list. But he didn’t. Disappointed
@@drduncanjames Don't worry about it man, as long as you had fun. You're going to make mistakes sometimes, especially if you're new. But those are what help you to improve with self-reflection. It was a fun watch, and that's what is most important.. Some people forget that, I suppose.
@@vaettra1589 why isn't it? Everyone gets rules wrong sometimes, when it happens it's never once ruined a game for me. Did he make aot of mistakes? Yeah. Doesn't mean I'd let that ruin my enjoyment. It's just perspective.
@@space5814 Good for you if you enjoy fluff bunnies stumbling around, not knowing the rules for their armies. Others find it annoying and disappointing. It's just perspective.
@@drduncanjames Fair enough. I just don't like seeing my favourite toy soldiers lose games, but kudos for taking part in making free content for the community.
Mini wargaming used to be my favorite channel but in this past year it’s just become constant talk with barely any gameplay. Matt has to be the worst just trying to analyze every thing about the hobby. Just play and have fun guys. It’s no mathhammer
@@thomassaxon8254 If you can fit everything you like into a 2k list then you must like very cheap units! Fitting good lists into 2k is very difficult, which is why so many people just copy lists!
@Grant Kovacs if you're playing people who won't play 1500 then you're not playing with people worth playing. And whilst the strict letter of the rules of matched play point level is definitely one of my big beefs with AoS compared to WFB it's still doable. You just have to be willing to be reasonable
