Mr. Bookieboo, thank you so much for your thoughts and experience in this Bobbie for a room layout! This will save your fans so much time and money. Invaluable! Interesting but no room for a lego room for me.
Love the new multi level layout, it looks really good!!! Good tips on IKEA tables. I use IKEA's Bergshult shelves...with the exception of the shelf that holds Town Hall, they're working out fine...but I am definitely noticing a slight dip because I have Town Hall in the middle. Can't wait for your next video; I see you've done quite a bit of work over to the right of your city :)
Really excited to find your channel -- I have my modulars on the small square LACK tables at the moment, but they're too low and running out of room (I have 6 of them). So now I'm working on finding a proper height tabling solution!
I started on a long dresser in my bed room then built a table next to it the same hight to expand my city. Now it covers one complete wall. After this new modular im out of space. Im thinking about removing my bed and sleeping on the couch so i can expand on the next wall :)
Thank you for the tips! Very helpful. I have many modulars but didn’t have the space until now so it’s time to get building! I don’t wanna shell out tons of money on shelving etc so I’ll for sure check out Ikea tabletops 😊
Thanks. I just built some tables. I agree 30 to 36 inches is a great width to fit a train loop and still be able to reach. My city will be about the same size as yours (I think that’s an appropriate size to do a lot without looking crazy, I put the rest in storage and will rotate it in) but in an “L” shape rather than horshoe. I had some wood in my shed so I built a 30x70 with some pre drilled holes for wiring as my first table. For my second table I may use a door. I may make my second, third level etc, as shelves mounted to the wall, that way the lower level table doesn’t need to support them.
There's people giving away those folding collage party tables on marketplace, kijiji ect just make sure its not sunk in the middle an you're good. Maybe just add a center support so it stays flat
Some good tips for tables here. I use the Linnmon table for my City, but when I wanted another level I felt that the tables got too thick so I used plywood instead. I have avoided bending of the tables as I made the sheets the same size as the tables and placed the feet over the points where the table feet are, with some support legs in the middle of the plates to keep them from bending. But if I am to move my city to another location I think I will look at using doors or some other solid material for the bottom floor.
I started with a very small dinning table, and outgrew it quickly. I added a folding table next to it, and it has been terrible. The folding table legs that fold in prevent me from easy storage under it and it folds in half, which make the center higher than the ends. I've kept my city like this the past year, and I think it'll be time to change in the next couple months. Thanks for this idea with doors.
I only have a corner in a room, I feel seen. But really, my wife said I couldn't put my Lego in the house so it's in my workshop. I built a custom table to put them on, but I still build in the diningroom on the dining table.
Great video! Question: I was gonna use the 2x4 Kallax turned sideways as my base against a wall with 1/2 inch plywood and a second level with your adjustable legs. If I want to stack a single level, would the 1/2 be too thin?
I am using IKEA tabletops as well. The 30x60 are sagging, the 24x40 aren't. Solution was the same as yours - to have a fifth support in the middle. As you cannot really attach a normal IKEA leg because the tabletop is cardboard, I am using one drawer unit per table. Big pro: They are named after me!
