Millenium Falcon in your city would be awesome. You always see people just displaying it on a shelf, but to actually incorporate it into a city... so cool!! Can't wait!

1: Great water! 2: A double train line would be cool. 3: The Millenium Falcon idea is not so good. I love how your city combines the normal city with Harry Potter, Ninjago and Wasteland but Star Wars would be too much.

Agree to 1 & 2, but not completely to point 3. the Millenium Falcon for its own fits perfectly to the Wasteland scenario. But I agree, that Wasteland should not be turned into Star Wars Land. But appropriate sets from Star Wars could fit right like the castle theme as transition to Harry Potter. Love your ideas, you inspired me a lot, especially with your old layout for my own lego project. Greetings from Germany

Great update MB. I’m a nutter for my LEGO trains, and in planning our city the number one topic of discussion (argument! ☺️) is how deep the layout can be. My family references your city as their #1, not so much for reach, but for how close you can be to admire the city. I think 4 base plates is the maximum, both for reach and visibility, and definitely worth the “reach challenge” if you can get two trains running. I’m excited by what an extra plate of depth might bring to your city (other than lots of hard work rebuilding! 😜)

A suggestion for the water, maybe add trans clear equivalent pieces nearer the rocks. Just occasionally, to represent breaking water. Could look even better and less uniform!
@BlockHeadUK
@BlockHeadUK 5 лет назад
The water is looking really good, much better than with the regular blue cheeses. Great progress! I have a few parts of my city which are about 4 baseplates deep and it is a pain - I can't reach them easily. Have to get a stool to get a little bit higher and then kneel on the nearest baseplates (a cushion is a must!) 😬
@MrBookieboo

Thank you and yikes! That’s what I was afraid of. I may have to rethink this, I really want double track but it just may not work 🤔

Very impressive! I like how you combine the different themes, they fit very well together. Thumbs up! :)
@GJBricks
@GJBricks 5 лет назад
That's going to be a long reach... Most people I've seen with tables that deep either have them strong enough to stand on, or a way to either separate them or go behind - mine is done so I can go behind at the deepest spot. But yay for more train track! Can never have enough trains in my opinion! Oh, and great update! Love so much of where this is going. And the water shimmer is definitely effective! Could you do the same thing in the Ninjago area in a few spots to break up the tiles perhaps?
@MrBookieboo
@MrBookieboo 5 лет назад
That’s my fear since I don’t have access in the back. I may have to experiment a bit with the reach. I was envisioning the Ninjagoland water as calm and tranquil, but I’ll look into adding some slopes for variation. Maybe around the piers and walls?
@GJBricks
@GJBricks 5 лет назад
MrBookieboo MrBookieboo I think that would look good and not disrupt the tranquility. that is a lot of water to have no motion in - works for Ninjago City though - but think it adds to it

Looking good so far! I think you should remove the little shack/shed build by the rocky area near the Hogwarts castle. I feel it ruins the whole aspect of the castle and rocks being large

So, first things first, I just binged the entire history of Bricksburg the last two days, and I'm floored. This was really cool to watch evolve and come into its own, and it looks amazing. I have subscribed with notifications on. Frankly, I'm tempted to suspend my WIP Iron Man diorama and start my own city! You brought up in your second to last video wanting to incorporate the Avengers tower, but it seems really small compared to the modules surrounding it. I'm curious if you've considered instead picking up the Sanctum Sanctorum from set 76108? It seems like it might be a better and more in-scale nod to the Avengers. Just a thought. Keep up the good work! I anxiously await your future uploads, and hopefully I will someday be able to expand my beginning Marvel Superheroes minifigure collection to an actual display/diorama collection on this kind of scale!

I'm not sure how old you are? Myself being 52 I'm in the middle of designing my Lego room for my city layout that will start by late 2019, early 2020. From watching others who have layouts I believe that it's best to have your layout where you can get easily access to from all sides like Alex Nunes's city layout. I do believe when I start my layout I will build my train track 1st like Benny from "Benny's Bricks"

I like how the angles on the cheese slopes in the water makes it look different shades of blue. And really smart way to do it as nothing falls off the table. At the deepest my town is 5 plates deep and it is impossible to reach anything at the 5th plate and hard enough on 4. So I think 3 wide is good, unless you just need some decorative stuff that will not need to be fixed or moved very often.

Have a U-shaped layout with one peninsula for kid-friendly access... was hesitant to do any placement with Ninjago City and Docks where they weren't pin connected. Tried a variation of your placement and it works, showing-and more importantly giving access to-both sides of the Docks. I was looking at an entire city do-over until this convinced me. Kudos, and love your city!
@MrBookieboo
@MrBookieboo 5 лет назад
Thank you! I really struggled with the docks for the longest time because I wanted both sides to be visible. The off-placement really works well since it fits the canal theme too.

Bluetooth was invented by Nokia, which is from Finland but the office in Denmark was the one that worked on it. The historical figure Bluetooth was a Danish King who was the first King of all the Scandinavian Countries, hence he united different peoples under one Kingdom. In the same way different devices can be united together using Bluetooth.

My city is 5 base plates deep and in graduated terrace configuration which allows enough reach if you start out fairly low and build up as you go deeper. Retrieving items that are under the platforms is however a nightmare and requires disassembly of landscape to access.

I used to climb on my table when i wanted to reach something. Really big tables do better have a hole in the middle to stand. so you can reach on both sides. In your case. You should your table move a bit from the wall so you can walk around
@36Brix
@36Brix 5 лет назад
Im just starting my city. But from what I have seen, unlike your city, most cities are not up against the wall. So they have room to work around the entire table, vs with yours, you can only work from the front. With some of the Huge cities I have seen, where its 8-10+ plates deep, they will have cut outs on the inside, and crawl under the table or have some type of hinged door to open and close so they can get closer.
@MrBookieboo
@MrBookieboo 5 лет назад
Very true, mine is unusual due to the narrow room that the city sits in.

I like how you combine different themes in this city, but Star Wars is too different. It also takes up far more space, so that reduces what else you can do greatly. The millennium falcon is also far too large for your city.

Love the water! Good idea! I could walk behind my city. I had a T-setup, but broke it down for now , because we wanna move. In my new layout i will use Ikea-tables 100 x 60 cm, so its more flexible. Why not use your storagebins as table base? Also when you use the flextrack you can make the curves A lot smaller. Great layout though!
