Today we take a detailed look at the custom LEGO Grand Boutique Hotel Modular Building. This alternate build uses two Boutique Hotel sets expanding by half a baseplate with the addition of a couple more rooms, a café, a secret passage, and an extended balcony. I quite like it and can't wait to place it in the LEGO city!

The cupboard door leading between the bathroom and the room reminds me of the Mr bean episode when his room doesn't have a bathroom so he drills a hole into the next room.

Hello, thanks for your purchase and the support, for me it is also an appreciation and encouragement to see my MOC built in the real bricks. And also thanks very much for the nice vedio share and instructions! Have a nice day! - Fanpeixi

Have seen a couple of cool looking alternative builds on rebrickable (using two sets), but honestly, this one just looks a bit messy and odd. Sadly not working for me.

The easiest option would be to replace the cupboard doors in the bathtub with a solid wall and have the tower in the middle as just an unused/ decorative part of the building’s architecture. Could also make that middle tower a little nook for the room on the other side by removing the wardrobe and just having it open. Maybe a chair or planter would fit in there.

Sort of unusual. Although I haven't yet built it, I definitely think that Stonewall Bricks has made the best MOC of the Boutique Hotel. He turned it into a conventional corner modular building and expanded the interior to 5 rooms, 3 standard and 2 suites. It needs a total of 406 extra parts, and if you don't have them its far cheaper to purchase the parts than to purchase a second Boutique Hotel.

Interesting combination of the two boutique hotels. With some modifications it should look pretty cool

First - it looks a heck of a lot better than the two different buildings, especially when they are side-by-side. Second - my favorite videos are when you create your own interiors on custom buildings - examples are the school and the Daily Bugle. In summary, I would love a new video where you change out the interiors, and fix some of the issues with parts in your inventory. Love your content! Hope Josee is doing well with the kids - wish we could see her in videos more!

You could imagine that the hallway used to be a door when the hotel was opened before they closed it off to make another room, but the cupboards still lead to the hallway because of the hotels manager being cheap and deciding just to cover up the holes with a dresser and a bathtub.

I usually don't mind about interior details on custom models, and from the outside, it looks pretty nice. It indeed looks like a bigger single building. But as they decided to work on interior, I think this connection is pretty weird (I wonder what kind of "imagination" would come from a trapdoor coming from a bathroom). If I could suggest something to make it look like really a single building, it'd would be removing that open gap from the 2nd floor, and making the corridor of both 2nd and 3rd floors serve as access to rooms on both the default and the new sides.

The connecting room is like the Secret Annex in the Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam! Hers was a bookshelf that was actually like a door (later became a trope in movies) that led into the adjacent building where they had to hide during the day

Love your channel! In a world full of "down" you are an "up!" Your channel is inspiring! I saw this Rebrickable model on a Facebook page before I bought the Boutique Hotel. I loved the look so much, I bought two sets, the extra parts & the instructions right away. The build was fun and looks great! I bought a few extra black snakes in order to put the decoration around the entire roof. I cleaned up some of the oddball snot bricks and modified a few things to my taste. The secret passage into the bathroom makes me think of bootleggers and bathtub gin!

I think that this new modular would work great where assembly square currently sits in the city. The beachy feel, the one and a half baseplate size and the fact it's a corner building would work great in that location.

i love that set. definitely could make a second look more seamless than that big flat wall facing the patio bar. Leave the back flat, The best I've seen a second is to mirror it so it backs up against it and makes a long facade.

If you add a second third floor that mirrors the second one and tweak the interior you could probably have a good design for mini suite across that covered bridge way. Maybe convert the lower floor into a general lounge area instead. It looks nice from the exterior but interior needs more tweaks to help it cohesively flow.

I'd keep the little portal in the bathroom, but instead of opening into a lounge, I'd make it a Speakeasy. If you're gonna have a hidden entrance, it's gotta be for a Prohibition-era style speakeasy!

Cool the extra part is just like the other side of the building only diffrent is that balcony and top part and the top roof part and window on the side. Over looking the balcony yer very odd a cupboard door leeding to Barth room .I like that you seed that extra part should be a hall way true .odd the person who did it must of just free style build it with not planing that cupboard door part leeding to Barth room even I would of put a door in. And chandged the Bart room .😊👍weep build the hall way part and put a door in where cuberd door is

rebrickable is not constrained to just the parts in the Lego set thats the source of the design, they can add parts to be sourced by the builder, so this design is a bit sloppy, looks cool on the exterior, the interior needs work

@gumbycat5226
@gumbycat5226 Год назад
You can see the limitations of this set - having to use nothing but parts from the original set they were unable a) to make an acceptable link across the two buildings b) separate out the middle and top floor of the new building. In fact as you think about this, the two upper suites have to be separate and the best way into the new tower bit is via the new suite because otherwise you have to completely replace the existing bathroom. One of the really cool things about the early modulars is that they all were built on two half-baseplates. This was so much more flexible if you want to use parts. Those half-baseplates are hard to come by. The last set with them was that [*** insert appropriate adjective***] modular bookshop. If I was doing a "mills" project I'd eliminate baseplates completely and use ordinary plates - baseplates aren't really part of the Lego System as their height does not match the height of standard Lego. This means you can never have something with baseplates alongside something without. Also I'd get rid of the ugly new road plates and replace them with the kind of road plate you got with the beautiful Tower Bridge set.
