LEGO really went all in on this. This is what fan service is all about. This build is just sooo good. 😊

Lego should keep doing more of these. Revisit old retired original Lego themes from back in the day and reimagine people’s favorite sets. Ice Planet would be my first suggestion

I have the 1st set still,awesome we got a new set for who wanted the old set but was not able to get.

Benny: Spaceship

This is alot more intricate than the original which was only 2 or 3 plates thick in the wings, and had 1x1x6 dark blue walls. I bet this moves really well to the nostalgia blockheads. I wonder if I can still find all my pieces for the original set and do a side by side shelf. I bet the LL928 prints are going to be ghastly expensive

I was born in 1980. My LEGO career started around 1985-86. The Galaxy Explorer was already legendary by that stage. When I saw this update appear on the shelf in 2022, I bought it immediately. I still haven't open it. I just look at it every now and then to pay homage to what is possibly LEGO's greatest ever set. 😊

Just HEAVEN!

I built this today and it was worth the freaking 7 hours. It was so good it made me yell spaceship a few times (Yeah Benny's one of my favorite characters)! Sad though there wasn't a blue colored astronaut minifigure cuz for sure I would've called him Benny. Anyways, this is probably my best big LEGO set I worked on. Thank you for sharing ABF!

Hi , Thanks for the video . This was a really fun build back when I first built it . I remember the fun and now I can re-live those memories . I wish they would have included the ' moon plates ' , however I can see by the size of the modern version they would be way out of place . Thank you for taking the time and effort that you put into making this I really enjoyed it after watching lots of similar videos this is one of the best in quality and a joy to watch! I counted all the pieces as you put them together and it seems like you missed one piece as I keep getting 1253, I have watched it and counted 137 times so far on 0.25 speed to make sure and I think I am right, do you think you can take it apart again and restart it again but add a part counter in the corner of the screen so I can keep up! :P I do love how sometimes you're adding parts in time with the music, maybe also you can synch your building one piece per second using a metronome to make sure you keep time, and then when this is speeded up you can hit a 4/4 upbeat rhythm or some dance track maybe dnb? Also love how you display the mini figures turning around and wondered what you use as a display rig for this to film it, a friend of mine said it's best to shoot this inside a microwave in a paper tube on a paper plate standing your phone up in a glass, but i'm not sure that's such a good idea so I might use a record player instead or a cake decorating stand attached to my hamster wheel with a series of pulleys and gears wheels, not sure, a short clip of your 'studio' and rigs, backdrops would be a real help. I'm being a bit silly perhaps, but after just ordering one of these before it's retired soon for the Christmas 2023 range arrivals, it's made me feel 10 years old again which is how old I was when the first Explorer was released in 1979. Than you again for the work you put into this. :)

too modernized in my opinion, if Lego wanted to do something nice they could reprint the original set, there is already Benny's spaceship that pays homage to it, I'm somewhat puzzled
