I’m so glad there’s other people here exactly like me. I randomly remembered the pizza skateboarding aspect of this game and had to go watch the whole gameplay
No I'm 28 and love it too and I also can remember everything 😁. Does anybody know where I can download the game ? Or how I can play it on Windows 11 ? I'm from germany btw and in the past there was a website where you can download it for free (CHIP). But this is maybe 15-16 years ago 😅 when I was 12-13 years old. The first time I played the game I was maybe 9 years old 🤔
It’s oddly comforting to see so many comments from people saying how difficult parts of this game were for them - when I was a kid I thought I was just really bad at this game lol (loved it nonetheless, thank you so much for this video!)
Not just you for sure. I've gone back and beaten this game twice as an adult, and both times I couldn't believe how absolutely janky every minigame is. It's no wonder I struggled with it so much as a kid.
Man i remember i was stuck on the space thing that go around and around to test g forces on astronauts😂 apperently i was just supossed to press the left and right arrows
I never got used to the controls in the Race to the Oasis and Bi-Plane minigames, so completing them was very hard for me. I also had a bit of trouble in the T-rex race, but not as much
Same and yeah i remember only me in town having program that allows two players in lego island snd i remember me and my friend play it and i remember plaaying it with my family too
And without the rushed out gameplay. Like a true remaster. I mean..There's a fan project going on called Project Island (i suggest looking it up as project lego island though to not spread confusion) which is basically gonna be a fan-made sequel and also tribute to all lego island games.
@@ThingMaBobJimmy same. Took me months to get pass Big Bertha by random luck. Also took me months to figure out the jousting one. But then again, I was five and could barely understand the instructions
I used to play this game on PlayStation with my dad… one of my earliest memories was putting a sock on over our hands so we could mash the X and Circle buttons faster for the joust matchup… good times
HOLY CHRIST I used to LOVE this game!! Unbelievably nostalgic. I remember in first grade, my mom bought me this game for CD-ROM at the Scholastic Book Fair at my elementary school. Great memories!
@@ToughGamingGuy It probably took me at least 3 hours, but I eventually beat it. It was a roadblock, though. But so was the diving part, and the jousting part.
Its been years, glad to see that a childhood game hasn't lost its fans. Watching this made me picture the old computer, and revived some old gaming memories, forgot Need For Speed 3 Hot Pursuit existed...
Im 28 now, and I vividly remember playing this game with my little sister and both thinking this was as good as it would ever get with open world games... good times!
I remember playing this with my friends in the Computer Lab at school. even after when one of my friends passed away. I still remember the great memories playing this game Lego Island together.
my parents ruined this game for me. i was playing it the day they split up, and havent ever finished it. now 20 years later, i kinda wanna finish it out of spite. lol
I remember playing this game all the time at my aunts workplace! At the time it felt like the amount of stuff in this game was endless! I definitely hope there's a remaster of this game!
My fondest memory of this game was getting picked up and flown away. I specifically remember that and the underwater minigame for some reason. Didn't get much further because I lost the game. ;(
When I was a kid, I didn’t understand english at all, so I was just wandering around the city, pressing “select” button to change appearance of the surroundings. And then I remember, that I somehow got to the another level (medieval) and I though that this game has unlimited space and so many different worlds. I was totally amazed)
The biplane level was so fucking difficult, and I remember being so ecstatic because I got past the car level, just to be greeted with the biplane level. I rage quit so many times and would only play the game up until that point on different saves. Finally figured out that just by ramming the plane into the side of wall boosted me forward.
i remember finally beating the jousting after weeks of playing only to get stuck on the fishing one. for a lego game, it was HARD. especially compared to what they make now. can’t believe kids were able to beat this back in the day.
Yeah the fishing part is where I always got stuck as a kid. I'd delete the game or restart it and play it up 'til that point again. This here was actually the first time I got past it hahaha
Oh gosh.... that intro.... that brings back memeories... even though I never played this game in its entirety. I got the intro on a CD that was just bonus content with playable demos. This game's only demo was the skydiving section. For a while I didn't get what I was supposed to do cause the instructions were bare bones, or I just didn't read them and wanted to play something. But once I did learn that mechanic, I became a master of going through all the rings and landing on the gold target
As a kid it took me years it felt like to beat the fishing minigame but once I figured it out the rest was pretty fun again. Lego definitely needs to remake or remaster this one!
This game achieved... so much for its time. It felt like a living breathing world. Great draw distance. You could follow one of those cars randomly driving for ages. Walking up behind someone shocks them. Falling down a hill makes you slide (even skyrim couldnt manage that) Walk vs skateboard for fun exploration & traveling. So sick noticing all the details present in such an ancient game. Maybe time to ditch the "pHySicS engines" and "rAy tRaCinG?!" Just turn out a good game.
The lagging unfortunately was a major problem for me. After about an hour of playing the game would start lagging and glitching to the point where it was unplayable. Got this game in 2001, and took me 4 years to finally make it to the last level where you're in space and about to face the brickster, but the game kept lagging non stop and my last save point was too far back. So I broke the disk out of frustration and never beat the game..Still bothers me to this day lol
Im 22 years old and also i played this game when I was around 3-4 years and damn I was bad at it but seeing all this as an adult brings back soo many memories and so much nostalgia.
Im 30 years old this was my favorite game to play as a kid at the library I remember signing in to play on the old computers to have to play it and it was one of my old child hood friends Matt who showed me this game at the public library we both played it at the library and also Arthur and also where in the world is carmen san diego
Apparently this was the worst LEGO Island game, as it was pretty much rushed. It has some interesting history behind it though, it was supposed to be a different LEGO game all together, but they couldn't throw their project away last minute and basically tried to hack it into a LEGO Island 2 game. I got my sources from the cutting room floor site, the description of the page goes as follows: "LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge is a rather rushed successor to the popular LEGO Island. This game started as a tie-in to various product lines from LEGO, headed by Krisalis Software. The developers couldn't scrap their work, so one noticed the main character looked a little like Pepper Roni. Development was then tossed on over to Silicon Dreams, who then tried to hack it into a LEGO Island game, but the project turned out a little too ambitious and it ended up being a case of planning too much without seeing. The result is a very obviously unpolished game with long load times, hacked together story and gameplay, and voice acting that may very well have been done by the development team themselves. On the plus side, though, this also means it's rife with unused content."
I loved this game so much I started playing this game when I was 3 all the way to 10 years old I miss this game so much that and Freddy fish but Lego island 2 and all the Lego racers games are imbedded in my brain
I’m 29 and I remember playing this, I had absolutely no idea how to do this and all I remember is wanting to blow my brains out on the fishing level wherever that was.
I really wanted to play this back when I was a kid, but our family's PC couldn't play it smoothly so it stuttered the whole time playing it. So it was hard to understand what was going on and finishing tasks, so sadly we never got to finish it. So now I remembered this for some reason and now I want to know what I missed out on.
When I first played the "Making Pizzas on Ogel" game (2:12:18,) I kept laughing because I'd be missing constantly and Papa Brickolini would say things like "My shoes have been-a-splattered!"
I got stuck on the diving part for AGES and then I finally beat it but it was on my grandma's pc... then I managed to get passed it again at home weeks later, but got stuck on the oasis car part. Good times replaying what I could beat over and over again. Ah, what it was like to be 7 and bad at games.
I miss when Lego had their own characters and worlds and it wasn’t just a bunch of licensed properties. The crossover with Johnny Thunder was pretty cool. If this game were made today, Pepper would be teaming up with Indiana Jones instead of Johnny Thunder. He’d be visiting Middle Earth from LOTR instead of Castle Island. There’d be Star Wars and Back to the Future references and Easter Eggs everywhere. I miss the simplicity.
I am a 2002 baby, I grew up playing this, I still have the disc actually and to my knowledge it still works fine, I just dont have a computer to play it on
I never beat this game as a kid. It kinda got pretty hard. From what I remember I was on a moon and had to do a bunch of jumping and shit to avoid obstacles... in a spacesuit, maybe a hill of sorts? I can't remember all that well! Now that I see this video... I was pretty close to the end of the game and I as an adult now feel very annoyed at myself at 10-12. Why couldn't't I have just stuck with it?
The one that was hardest for me was the Bi-Plane level. I could never get the plane to the runway in time even after getting all the fuel. I had to smash myself against obstacles for the speed boost at the last minute, and even then I played it so badly the game barred me from trying the level again by the end of the game. XP
Well i spend a lot of time to catch that big fish along with my nephews until i catch that fish and right after that i call my nephews how i did it haha. Great memories of this game!
