Around two decades ago, I was so obsessed with this game. This, Monster Truck Madness, and Hot Wheels World Race. I guess I just really liked racing games as a kid. I still love them.
Hot wheels world race had and imo still has the best track design of any racing game i have ever played How i wish we could have a proper faithful remaster of it
Another incredible game... idk about anyone else but this game really made me feel adventurous. Sometimes I’ll fire it up every now and then just to be nostalgic.
Imagine a brand new Lego Racers game with drifting mechanics and obviously, vehicle building... Edit: yes, I am aware of Lego 2k Drive releasing in May, I have a bad feeling though. Seems like there's a very large emphasis on open world but not on racing itself from what I've seen so far. I hope I'm wrong though
There is just something very cool about intros in video games. They always give a "all this stuff you see now is what you are gonna get in the game" vibe
Watching this gives me more nostalgia for my friend called Thomas who lent me this to install when we were very young. We had the same birthday (one year apart) and we celebrated it together every year until I was 8 when my parents started getting divorced and I never saw him again...
My grandfather and I loved this one, too many fond memories...happy to see others knew where it was at too! The shortcuts you could take, environments and tracks. It really is a gem. Sudden urge to play now. Lmao
The first video game I ever played. I was obsessed with the Dark Forest circuit haha. Can't believe this is 25 years old now. The intro still puts a smile on my face
I loved playing this game for hours! And I tried for hours to get a pit stop somewhere haha. Took me years to figure out it was just in the intro, not on the actual game. Also I remember trying to catch one of the various scenery vehicles with the red block hook, again without success.
1:31~1:34 Reminds of back when I played NFS:World. one of the other players that I were racing against, were one of those that keeps going sideways, hitting the left wall, right wall, left wall, etc. made it impossible to overtake. But close to the end of the race, I noticed a traffic car approaching, and as I hoped, that player crashed into the traffic car. so I used that opportunity to NOS past them both on the opposite side, "stealing" the finish line.
My first video game system was a Nintendo 64 in 2000. My brother got this game for it because all his friends had it. I defeated the game before him or any of his friends.
It not by high voltage software it IS a high voltage software. (I think, I could be wrong and it could be made by a coumpany called high voltage software)
Most annoying thing was in Multiplayer if someone shots the anchor and pulls you back :D Or if you drove through that Voodo Door and couldn’t direct anymore. As kids we had the Rule that no one is allowed to use that "swirl" that puts you far ahead, we called it "Welt" its German and means World, because it looks kind of a Planet when you was in there. What a great Time,..
Only thing that could've made this game perfect was a racetrack like this where it's a combination of various maps, and you could race all the champions
Since I had the PS1 version and my cousin had the N64, I'll admit the N64 could load the racing maps WAY faster than mine-- as most cartridge games go. That and I always had to remember to select "Save Game" whereas the N64 was automatic. 😩
