@@Badbhoys Funny I remember as a kid (and this is back in Space Lego days) thinking that - now I think "hey, this set is less than a tank of petrol for my car! Pretty great value!" - but you are not wrong from the perspective of a toy, it's expensive.
@@Beer_Dad1975 thing is, in Europe each currency still has the same price. The set is 70$/70£/70€. Yet 70$ has the same worth of like 50£ or 60€. So Lego gets to ask more from Euros even though the US is farther away and should technically cost more for shipping and handling fees. Americans pay less for it then those nearer to Denmark and France where a lot of it is made.
@@anglishbookcraft1516 Yeah I'm in New Zealand so we pay a premium for it here too. I got the Light Cruiser for 10% off, which was $270NZD! Managed to pick up the Slave 1 and the Marauder in a buy 2, get 15% off deal - $145 for the pair. Haven't found anyone selling the UCS gunship in store here, but it's listed at $600 most places, so even taking the exchange rate into consideration it's getting up around $100 more than in the US. Everything's expensive when you live on an island thousands of kilometers from anywhere else though - unlike you I'm a long, long way away from the factory!
This set is priced way too much, 79€ here in France, but the small Thor room goes for 29€ it's priced much better than 40 £! Only solution: buying the set in germany, its usually cheaper
I'd like to make a video request if I can: I'd like to see a MOC that is not something massive to display at a convention...rather something people who watch the video could build to permanently display on a shelf. Possibly something that would have instructions you can purchase etc.
Hi m8 😁got a question? i have the chance to get the star wars bespin duel and the cloud city new in box, should i get it or should i save the money to get the new AT-AT later this year?
The Admiral that got choked was Admiral Ozzel (the dude with the 'stache), and then behind him is Captain Piett, to which Vader then promoted him to Admiral Piett.
I‘m missing the vader’s helmet fixing device here and the chamber cannot be closed entirely. The dark Lord will have to suffocate to death….chhhhhhhtschhhhhhh….unfortunately only 80% thougt through to the end like so many other 18+ Sets from LEGO……
Maybe this is just me but I'm under whelmed there seems to a lot of gaps where in the source material it is completely flush and the mechanism looks flimsy. Should have liked to have seem a sturdy system with a wheel and flat track
Great review! I 120% agree that I love the diorama scene recreation 18+ sets for Star Wars. I love the the Bespin Duel set and this one is right up there. I also agree that the price is about $10-$20 too high. Still an amazing set though
I see a lot of people complaining about the price in these comments, it's even worse for LEGO fans in Canada. This set is sold for 99.99 CAD, the equivalent of about 79.99 USD, a ten dollar increase. Why the increase in Canada beats me, but this has been a factor on most of the Summer sets, even the gunship is more expensive to buy in Canada than in the US. Haven't been a fan of many of their prices, though I ended up getting a lot of these sets so I guess they still win. This set itself looks awesome though, so I do hope they make more of these styles of sets.
It's really disapointing to see Lego putting prices up to ridiculous heights, it's making it so much less accessible, especially to children, and it just feels really cynical.
I love the meditation chamber scene and I think that this is is a beautiful set but it's so expensive, as a lot of lego 2021 sets. David, a question: where do you get the bricks behind you? Bricklink?
This is the second set of this diaroma scene i bought ... First was death star trench run which is beautiful and im going to build this one this weekend
Definitely my kind of set I hope they continue this theme, but it’s a shame they didn’t give Veers dual moulded legs as Vader has arm printing, but I will be buying this set
it looks like it was designed by someone who hasn't seen star wars , the bottom is meant to lock into the top but its missing the top lock in pieces to align with the bottom , the ideas set looked much better
I loved this set! It looks so good. Pretty upset I couldn’t put it in my “main” display case. The lights in my case made the shadows more apparent and you couldn’t see Vader at all but the silver lining is I keep this set as the centerpiece of my desk in my office and I like that a lot more.
This set is an embarrassment. More work went into the base than the chamber itself. The gaps are enormous. It looks terrible, and the price is terrible too. Worst set of the new wave by far.
