Sorry it's *42 cm NOT 24 cm* clearly a mistake once again it's roughly *42 cm NOT 24cm* This item is available from Amazon at amzn.to/2P73vSZ (That is an affiliate link -- makes no difference to you, but if you choose to buy the product I may get a small commission)
Just dropping in to say that I appreciate that you do not take free handouts from Lego... and that you donate a more than fair amount of toys to charity. Plus there is no gossip spoken by you. You're a stand up guy Jang! Much respect from the west coast!
@The Tin Can Man the current run of the vader comics doesnt have that trooper. in fact they just built the castle in i think the last one or the one before that. It doesnt show much of the castle
The blue imperial pilot was featured in the VR experience “secrets of the empire” (or rather his uniform is, since the character is a rebel in disguise helping you with your mission). What I adore about this set is how it really encapsulates all of Star Wars as it stands today, with elements from the classic trilogy, rogue one, the comics, the animated shows and the VR experience. It’s just pure, distilled Star Wars goodness!
Interesting that there’s a figure of a character only seen in a VR game that’s only available at a certain place. Lol. Kinda sad that there wasn’t anything to do with darth Momin, but that stuff probably wasn’t released yet when they were making this.
The blue pilot is Lieutenant Affex. He's featured in the Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire VR experience at Disney which takes place on Mustafar and around Vader's Castle. He's your pilot and basically guides you through the mission. It's cool.
Those red windows look great from both sides. Jang, your reviews are the best by some distance.... would you ever consider doing your “top set” recommendations using your subjective opinion? As a relatively new AFOL collecting Star Wars sets I would appreciate your suggestions...
It looks like Jang remembered the info on Kyber crystals I gave him in the transformation video. That other lightsaber belonged to Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a, the Jedi from whom Vader procured his crystal. Those spears that the Royal Guards carry are called 'force pike', and you were 100% correct in your assessment of the shuttle pilot.
Pretty cool set. It’s better than I expected especially the amount of interior space, and the Advanced Tie looks quite nice. That Imperial Pilot minifigure gives me clone vibes as well. It’s torso printing looks a lot like a Revenge of the Sith era clone trooper’s armor.
Love what they did with this set! One thing I wish was different though is that they should have switched the meditation chamber and bacta tank. That 2nd level could fit the bacta tank just fine and the larger first level would have allowed for a better and more intricate meditation chamber build.
Just built this last night - I'm pretty fond of it. I would have preferred a Krennic figure over that trooper, though.... ah well, I can pick up a minifig for him pretty easily on its own, I suppose.
My wife grabbed this for me for Christmas from Amazon.com during a one-day sale last December for just $89.99. (Regular Amazon price was/is $129.99.) I was pretty happy to get the set, and even happier that she got it for such a great price. :D
The comics in question consist of a story arc called “Fortress Vader” that runs from the 2017 Darth Vader series from Marvel, running from issues #19 through #25.
LordOf TheBricks I mean for the general Star Wars sure but if you are aware of and have read the comics and such it makes more sense to release now. Besides I’m sure people still remember rogue one as it is my favourite film that Disney has made so far.
I’d use that hanger for an Inquisitor training room, I feel it looks the part and I also think that using such a large space on the build for storage is a bit of a waste, other than that I love the set and can’t wait till it arrives!
Hehe so essentially, the bacta tank is the bathroom/bedroom, the meditation chamber is the kitchen/living space, the platform on the top is the deck, and the garage is, well, a garage!
Jang, the control center opposite of the Sith relic is actually the charging sation for the mouse droid. There is an area you can put the mouse droid in.
The transport pilot is from the little story presented in the VR experience "secrets of the Empire". In it, the character this figure is based on helps a bunch of undercover Rebels to break into a Mustafarian research center. And he's voiced by Sam Witwer (Darth Maul, the Son, Galen Marek), which is fun.
He's not a Clone trooper or a member of the 501st though, so angry Clone still makes no sense :D But of course you can still think of him as that if you like to.
I wish they'd make this into a full blown complete Vader's castle UCS set, it would be so cool. But overall I like it. The sith shrine thing reminds me of the portal contraption that Moman made in the Vader comics, which I think so cool that they included it. And the kyber crystal is a nice nod to the comics as well
The reason the transport pilot is included is because there's a star wars VR experience taking place on mustafar. The pilot is a rebel spy helping the four players infiltrate a supply area to steal a sith relic. The sith relic turns out to be a Lightsaber which would explain the lightsaber in the sith section. There's also a part that looks similar to the ammo depot on the other side of the garage but I don't know if that's on purpose. The company who made the experience is called theVOID.
Transport pilot appeared in the VR game "Secrets of the Empire" available in Disney Springs (both in Florida and LA if my memory serves me correct). I like the theory that he could be 501, but according to canon, Vader's Fist (his legion) never wore blue. This is because Anakin lead the 501st, and since Vader was no longer Anakin, you could imagine he wouldn't want any reminders of the person he "killed", so the Empire made sure that never happened.
The blue Imperial transport pilot is from the virtual reality game: Secrets of the Empire. You play as a rebel and follow another rebel in disguise as the blue pilot and break into Vader's castle to retrieve an ancient artifact. I assume that the pilot minifigure is the pilot before the rebels took his armour.
Vader's castle was built to revive Padme. By the way, Padme WAS revived in canon and look at the nice side of palpatine, he ordered to build the castle for Vader so he can revive her. This happened on the new 2018 Darth Vader comic. Check it out! It's good! (And it is Canon)
I just got this set for christmas. (Merry christmas btw if you're watching during the wonderfull time) And I got the best deal ever. Well rather my parents did. 3€ did this set cost when my parents bought it over Amazon. Best lego set deal *ever* if you ask me.
The grey parts are supposed to be the NO parts of Vader, bacause when he's on the bacta tank he pretty much take all that mechanical things off, so you can display it without his hands, arm and maybe legs to
I don't follow the comic books, but it's strange that I never knew that Darth Vader had a castle, only saw this in Rogue One like most people. Looks imposing, and it's very unique for a Star Wars set, don't think we'll see this set again!
Hey jang, would you consider doing a retrospective of the complete solo lego sets like you did for The Force Awakens & Rogue One? Thanks - really enjoy your channel!
The Imperial Pilot included in this set is from the canon ILMx labs virtual reality experience down in Orlando. The experience revolves around you and three others infiltrating an imperial compound just next to Vader’s castle, and the rebel pilot that takes you there, Athex, disguises himself as that pilot. He is killed by Vader at the end. So the minifig is either Athex or the pilot who Athex later kills, it’s up to you
It's true. Vader keeps the 501st company under his personal command, even tho he'd got command over all the stormtroopers as long as he acts as Sidious likes it. The 501st company is one of the few companies that stays completely "pure" as they say about themselves. All of them are still 100% clones of Jango Fett. Not like the other companies, where they started to clone other people too.
