I don't get why people would get upset about changes to the design. The movie takes place 30 years after Return Of The Jedi. Car models from 30 years ago look drastically different today.

The BEST Sequel Trilogy Lego set yet. Until they make a complete version of the First Order AT-ST MK2 in my opinion lol. Not the headless BB-8 one.

I was always a moderate x wing fan, but I became a huge fan of this set when I bought it and put it together. It even looks better and is more fun than the Hasbro version for action figures. I just wish they would have included black rubber bands (my only complaint about this set)

just finished building the set, just looks flat out amazing! i love the black and orange color's (don't mind the blue rubber bands as much) great size, great build, the spring launchers are perfectly integrated. no complaints from me!

The most anticipated part of building a Lego X-Wing for me is at the end, when I'm done and can open up the S-foils. It was true with the first Lego X-Wing and it's still true with the latest Lego Trilogy X-Wing. This is definitely on my to buy list.

I'm usually not a big fan of X wings but I really like the changes they made for the new movie and I really like the new set as well as the color scheme. Black and orange looks vibrant. A big problem with a lot of OT sets is that they were almost all grey and boxy while PT had vibrant colors and smooth style. I personally love a lot of PT vehicles way more than OT ones for those reasons. Poe's X-wing and the Special Forces TIE have solved my issues with the originals.

I believe the utility cart, ground crew, and extra pilot are an omage to the 7140 from 1999. I also seem to remember one of the vehicles from the early years coming with a boarding ladder. Pretty cool his call sign would -5 like Luke. True fans will hearken back to Ralph McQuarrie, and accept this T-70 for what it is...a retro take for a current Incom starship!

I know how you feel. The only thing is, that it costs lego much more to make printed pieces. Which would then just make the prices of sets go up. So I can understand why they have to go with stickers.

in some places I prefer stickers. they can be removed so you have the option of using the piece without them or you can put them on a different piece and they make the sets cheaper.

i don't mind paying more for higher quality. i don't like stickers because of how often they can get messed up in so many different ways and they don't last nearly as long as print. it looks much better too.

i don't see how that would reduce usability. if anything it adds. removing stickers can rip them making it look messy and un-immersive when put back on. and lego makes both printed and non-printed molds of the same thing. why bother with stickers in the first place if people aren't going to use them? that's literally throwing money away; might as well print it on. at least then you know your getting your money's worth. which brings me to my earlier point. yeah the cost is going to go up because your paying for higher quality. i see no problem with that. what were paying for right now are cheap stickers anyone can replicate and sell as lego for a higher price than what it really is.

Jang, I took a black sharpie and blacked out the blue rubber bands. I don't know if you are the type of person that would paint a Lego element but it works. You could also go with a high gloss black spray paint, and apply it lightly as not to stiffen the band.

Oh my. I might dare to say that this is my favorite version of the X-Wing that LEGO has done to this date... Love the "new" design, and the colors fit my aesthetic taste quite well also. The curves and angles on this just make me giddy, definitely the first thing I'm getting after I get my paycheck.

Just built this set... its nice to have a little change in a really popular star wars ship while still keeping with the overall original look.. i like the new colors myself... I like that it has more pieces then the last... the figures are nice..and it looks great in my opinion.. i really like mine and was glad they did something a little different.. cant wait to see it on the big screen.

man, you are absolutely right about spinning that gear to give it its x shape.. once you do that it just looks incredible. i wasn't sold on this set because of the colors, but now with it in hand and built, wow, it's really great.

Went to a yard sale the other day and there was a box of legos that was marked as the super secret police gunship set from the lego movie, it was $35 and i talked them down to $15, i got home opened it up and there was the super secret police gunship set and this set inside. No mini figs except bb-8 and almost all pieces were there to both set. I think i have the part to finish it 🤗 going to look great next to my U-wing!!

Bought mine yesterday and completed it today, I have to say I am really impressed. The colour of the piece is great, really makes it stand out and it's put together really well. If I had to pick one judgemental thing it would be the elastic bands, I wish these were black or orange to blend in with the ship. I personally think the price is in the right area 3 minifigs & BB8 also props. I'm happy :)

It's a beautiful thing - yyyeah apart from the elastic. I just so wish I hadn't seen that, but I adore the colour, it's so boy-racerish and rock'n'roll; just what an ace pilot's fighter should be like. (WWI centenary; Richtofen's Flying Circus and all that anyone?) Thanks for this preview Jang; I like it when someone emotes all over a 'machine' in that manner.

You never mentioned the price of this set as its crazy overpriced compared to the last x-wing, I think the rrp is something around €90 compared to €60 for the OT one..

+JANGBRiCKS I dont think Lego can justify an increase of 30€ only by using 150 more pieces. How many pieces were used to build the little transport and the ladders? Lego is seriously taking advantage of the hype-factor with this prieces.

i just bought my 2nd one. I am collecting X wings like crazy. JANG is so so right about that choke up feeling when seeing these ships. I just love X wings so much even though I am an Empire fan I just love the ships so much. I now have 2 Poe X Wings, 3 Original X wings. and 1 white X wing that is fairly old. i’m excited to see this new 2018 version to add to the collection!

I very much needed to see this review. I love anything X-Wing, but looking at the pictures for this set and not seeing it twirling around in my (read: your) hand, I couldn't tell if I even liked this model. I would love an X-Wing comparison video that compares this and previous renditions of the X-Wing to one another similar to your Sith Interceptor comparison video. I would really enjoy it and I feel that it would be a great way to assess the different versions of the fighter alongside one another, and I'm sure others would enjoy it as well. This is the one I have been waiting for. That BB-8 minifig (if you can call it that) is going to be pretty sought after. I love the new design of the X Wing, I think it looks awesome. I love the colours, even though it does look like an X Wing with a Fast and the Furious paint job. I know it's not Lego, but are you going to get the Sphero BB-8?
