If you die you can lose studs, however, you can turn that off in the settings. Also, there is a setting where you can turn off health recovery. Makes the game a little bit more challenging in my opinion.
This game is amazing. Having a lot of fun with it. I think the only complaint is the camera. Sometimes the camera isn't user friendly! Just a small complaint though!
It heavily misses some beats, like in the preqeuals, they basically had no clones, and skipped all the fun big battles and stuff. Some parts just feel like I'm running from A to B for a cutscene and that's the entire thing. I'm hoping for DLC or something to remedy this, unless I just haven't unlocked the right thing yet, but I feel like that's not the case (Edit) Alright, I've finished 1-3, and tried 7(7 making fun of the movie was the best parts) and 4. This game HORRIBLY skips over so much, it's honestly kind of a bad Lego Star Wars game.... That's just my opinion. It's fun, probably much better co-op, but it's not worth 60$ at ALL
This is the first time I've heard a reviewer talk about the rushed gameplay, if you can even call it that. But that too was my biggest gripe about this game. After being greatly disappointed, especially for a game asking for $65 after tax, and setting my expectations very low, though I didn't have any real expectations for this game prior to its release, I'm finding it a little more enjoyable.
@@pawfector9463 it's enjoyable, but man after playing I feel pretty jipped paying 65$ for the game, then 15$ for the dlc packs. People keep basically excusing stuff because it's an E rated game, but the missions they chose to put in and leave out take away a lot of the fun of Star Wars, even from a kids perspective
I just feel like the game is too short, and there are too many cutscenes. For example, some of the cutscenes could’ve been playable. And I don’t like how there’s no traveling really.. it’s just different planets but you have to fast travel there.
@@dasboot4216 I don’t get this complaint at all. People complain about the short levels, but want a battle that takes place in only one room and would be the shortest duel ever. It works fine as a cutscene.
They spent far too much time trying to make the game funny rather than as technically proficient as it should be for a 2022 release. Not even a Ray tracing option or improved tracks and footprints on the new consoles.
@@DEVILTAZ35 ok I’m getting sick of all this “new games on the next gen consoles need to look so realistic it looks real” like it’s a ridiculous standard
@@DEVILTAZ35 its a fucking lego game, its not going to look realistic. And i would much prefer a game that entertains me then has a few extra pixels. I have a series S and i think it looks gorgeous without True 4k. Graphics arent everything to a game, its a single part of it
I've enjoyed it alot so far but my only complaints are that a new hope tatooine is no where near as fun as the og and how it won't actually kill characters like greedy and jango
I miss the old Hearts and fight system. It's weird when you cross a stormtrooper with a lightsaber he doesn't fall apart. Also those guns with red tips were the best.
Lego Indiana Jones needs this kinda love n attention to detail, I miss that game so much! ...and would be perfect seeing new Indy movie on its way, golly gosh one can only hope
Played through it yesterday. Don‘t expect a hard game. I rly enjoyed the silly humor but its a game specifically for kids. If you get bored because of the gameplay don‘t blame the game. It‘s us boomers who play a game for children
It can be but it's not aimed at Star wars fanatics as it misses too much from the actual stories. I think it would appeal more to Lego fanatics and people that love experimenting riding and driving different beasts and machines etc. The collectem up part of it really hasn't changed enough from previous games. It can be really boring at times.
@@DEVILTAZ35 this is def a Star Wars fan game tho. I forget that the whole game is made out of Lego sometimes because it feels jsut like a Star Wars game
Maybe for a challenge you could get take on challenger missions where you still do the same movies but with a twist "enemies one shot you" "complete within a time limit" "optional side bosses that give you a run for your money" "mission combination" "play as a grunt" "mini bosses spawn in regular encounters" "versus mode where you compete to see who finished the movie faster "life limit" etc. You could easily finish the game, but there's gonna be a lot of kids who's gonna be obsessed in 100% completing the game and have speedrunners coming back
In episode 1, playing as Qui gon jinn, he randomly says. . " I have a particular set of skills. . . that are useful". . Never thought I'd be getting a Taken reference in a lego star wars game. . . I love it!!! 🤪 lol!
Can’t lie, this game so far has let me down and that’s coming from a huge Star Wars and Lego fan. All I feel I do is run from A-B cutscene to cutscene with a poorly designed combat encounter they class as a ‘mission’. I’m hoping this changes the further I go in but after episode 1 and 2 I can’t see this changing. Yet I see no one talking about this at all? I thought it was just me but playing split screen with my partner after I asked how she felt and she said the exact same thing which makes me ask the question? What have they been doing with the missions for the past couple of years?
@@RachaelM950 too right, I’ve been playing with my partner and the geonosian factory for example at points we just had to sit and wait around for the other to do a puzzle somewhere else
It’s amazing even on my Switch Lite. If it wasn’t another full $60 I’d love to appreciate the graphics & FPS on my PC too but personally games like this I just overall prefer to be mobile/comfy in bed. The nostalgia is real with this one & it is loaded with content. I don’t care how old you are do not judge this game based on it being built off of legos, any SW fan will have fun with this. Cheers.
It should be much better than it is though. It's not the best engine to get the most out of the new consoles but after seeing comparisons the PS5 version is terrible compared to Series X . I have the Series X but i still feel it is underutilised when it comes to character footsteps disappearing as soon as the make them just about. It ruins any immersion of exploring on foot or with a droid. Surely they know one of the cool things people mucked about doing in Rise of the Tomb raider for instance was writing names in the snow. There is zero reason these new consoles could not have better settings in that regard.
This game is more faithful to the Star Wars lore than the JJ Abrams trilogy... I wanted to duel Sidius with mace windu but it was turned into a cut scene.. I was quite sad. And for a kinda open world environment, it’s really empty ngl.
@@AcornSmokes420 for me so far the only technical problems have been in the Droid Factory in Episode II, I’m on pc, and the rest of the games runs silky smooth, but I get like 15 frames on that level. Hopefully it will be patched.
I’m sorry but this game is so much better than these old heads are making it out to be. I will say the prequels were a little underwhelming but everything else’s is absolutely amazing. And the open worlds are fucking awesome. The fact that there are literally over a thousand “gold bricks” makes this probably the best lego game ever.
Can't lie I really wanted the physical deluxe edition of this game but it can't be bought anywhere atm, though I may settle on the regular edition since I really want to play this game hopefully the deluxe one will get more copies in
@@MissMultiConsole Like the Jurassic park one. Since I'm fan of Lotrs/Hobbit and didn't get chance to play them. Would be cool if they release a remaster HD, of the 6 games.
Imo this game looks waaay too flashy and modern. I liked the simplicity of the complete saga and I hoped this game was just that same simplicity, not a combo breaking over the shoulder shooter, with no custom characters either? I'm not buying this
you fly in space but you cant do anything You just press a button to land on that planet so you can not fly from planet to orbit into space to another planet
started with phantom menance ...The most boring lego game ever ,the worst ! At least I played more than 1 hour ,no puzzles, no builds, only walking and shooting with navy ...I deleted it
I feel like if you're not expecting a game to test you but to sit back with, enjoy it and turn your mind off for a bit of time, while admiring the passion etc put into this, you'll love it. Fun to explore and find the collectables aswell, easy to jump into. If you're a fan of Star Wars, I'd highly recommend it, no matter the age :)
@@Eldergodconsultant It's funny that it's only "sometimes" we want to have fun... Because it means sometimes we want to play games that are stupid and not fun lol
No, this is just a terrible game overall. Stripped away are the fun and enjoyable Lego game levels of puzzle solving and platforming and traded in for running around and more running around. It’s a completely empty and soulless game with nothing but collecting the next brick. No actual gameplay in sight
The gameplay is the greatest part about this game. Everything else...meh. The levels are hardly levels, and are now glorified hub worlds with nothing to see. And the challenge is completely gone...it's almost mind-numbing to just do nothing but run and mash one combo button. The Complete Saga definitely felt more..uh, complete.
Exactly!!!! I came to reviews to see if anyone else complained about the levels… half the time I don’t even know I’m in a level? Its exactly like you said a little hub world you run around in and do objectives. The creative aspect of a level is gone… damn.
@@PeverellTheThird dude the remaster on the Xbox one is amazing. If you want to say that all non free roam Lego games have “aged” then that’s fine but they by no means do not look old. Besides I’m seeing lots of complaints now that this new one is actually really boring and repetitive and lacks smart level design like the old games
I hate how you can fight outside mission. Like I can go up to a clone and punch him and they don’t even fight back. I don’t really feel an urge to explore and get characters if I can’t even fight with them much outside missions
Playing right now live a very great game and My favorite Lego game even though I am not a fan of Lego games in the past which I tried and never liked!!
Walk to one cutscene after another and ask if I want to continue the story each time. Who designed this and is it supposed to be fun? The Phantom menace episode is a painful slog. I counted the number of things I had to build: 1. Are you kidding me? This is painful.
Guy I'm seeing alot of adults excited for this game....I've always never payed attention to lego game is it really that good for adult (not shitting honestly asking cuz all the hype kinda has me wanting to play this)
Honestly dude majority of us were kids when the complete saga or lego Star war 3 came out so it’s our childhood but I think playing those two are better right now
It is Star Wars. That alone would make adults buy the game. Plus, with so many games taking themselves so seriously, it's nice to have a change of pace. Nostalgia plays a big part of it too.
I agree lol, what I find absurd is the people saying this is bad because they’re comparing it to elden ring LOL. Is everything that’s not elden ring just bad now?
The humour is rather childish and not all that well thought out at times. I expect that though as most modern games aren't as funny as reviewers try to make out. At least if you have the IQ about that of a small insect anyway. There are still some worthwhile gags in this but quite often it's underwhelming too.
Really good review. Loving the game so far! On a side note, I am baffled by the shade thrown at the newer movies and not the almost unwatchable prequels (well, the first two). I don't think a lot remember just how poorly received those movies were. I was an adult though, so maybe that's why
I recently reached them, and I find them enjoyable I'd say Star Wars overall is overrated, but the prequels are fine, definitely could be better, but they're fine The sequel trilogy is actually horrible
While the prequels had their flaws I agree the sequel trilogy is a horror show of plotholes and crappy characters and arcs. For those reasons it angers most fans because of the clear lack of effort and seemingly cash grabby vibe of the sequels. They just seem like they were not cared for in their design like the other two trilogies.
The prequels have other media making it more impactful and it connects easier to the main trilogy. The sequels are a lose spinoff that is absolutely atrocious and careless in design. Matter of fact i dont even wanna play the sequels in the game because they’re just that bad
If I had known about the shooting challenges, I would not have bought it. I will not be able to complete game, as I am frustrated by third person shooters.
I got an 8 and a 4 year old who are both absolutely obsessed with Lego Jurrasic World game! Iv got starwars in the post so they're really excited to get onto it. We love gaming together it's so much fun.
But I don't trust you guys anymore... Or anyone else for that matter. You said Elden Ring is a great game and I spent $60 on the most obtuse crappy piece of poop game I've ever played in my life.
There are players in GamingBolt who didn't like Elden Ring either, I assure you. You're hearing one man review a game out of many other people who work there. But as for Lego, I had really no expectations for it and was very much disappointed.
@@pawfector9463 It's the first time I feel pissed about not being able to return the game. I pre-ordered like 5 games in the last year and I was always happy. For Elden Ring I wasn't sure, so I waited for reviews and this stupid hype made me pull the trigger. But Elden Ring is just unredeemable garbage.
@@lukastemberger ur just a casual if your not good cus the game is difficult then that’s a YOU problem y get elden ring if you saw reviews on how hard it is and shit just do better
The game is amazing but there’s a lack of content when it comes to the open world, it gets boring so easily, you don’t much to explore, the maps aren’t huge and you can’t even explore the capitals ships, and also there’s too much cutscenes
