Hey, love your reviews. I even unsibscribet from IGN and Gamespot, and now watching only you. I wanted to ask you, if you can do some sort of preview on game called "Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem". It is Early Acces on Steam. I would like to hear what you think about this game. Thank you, and have a nice year.
They should have just waited until the entire trilogy was out. That's what I loved about the older games. They had so much to do, having 3 movies in one game.
I was just thinking the same thing, and comparing it to The Hobbit game they made for this before the last movie in the trilogy came out. They never even made a DLC or any way to finish the story in the game. At a hefty $60, these games are cash & grabs IMO.
+Brandon Veracka true but you also have to remember this game isn't just the movie. It has I think 4 or 5 extra levels explaining things about the movie. That's like another game inside of it. Also the things you can do in this game is really really big. I understand what both of you meant about waiting for the trilogy to come out. But I think I would've died of waiting haha. But yeah just trying to bring another perspective to you.
I agree. These games are fun, they really are! But they lack a level of greatness & they just don't have a big enough wow-factor to get sixty bucks outta me.
Been here since the GTA 5 review, the one that blew up your channel. I just realized how long its been since then and how you've still been going strong. Really glad you have been keeping it up, and not lowered your quality for quantity. Respect, great review.
+ACG I just subscribed last week but I gotta admit I became an instant fan. You serve up a review in a way that's just AWESOME..no better way to say it. So thanks, and keep 'em coming!
ACG Thanks for the awesome reviews! I'll be sure to visit your channel often. Gaming is a big hobby of mine and a good, solid, honest review is worth a LOT to me. Regards from Cape Cod, MA!
I have no idea how you play and complete so many games in so little time and write a full review but here we are again with another fantastic review. Thank you!
Crack and a doppleganger. I originally had named him Karak the 3rd so that he would always be searching for the 2nd one or worried I killed him due to lack of performance. But I have renamed him poptart. Most likely because I was eating one when I wanted to rename him.
Jay, do not want to offend a new lego gamer, but the prologue is probably the worst way return of the jedi has been shown in a lego game. lego star wars the original trilogy had it done right, and i was hoping (when i heard aboout the prologue) that Disney(lil' hopes by the way) would have told tt to remaster the moon of endor and death star missions so they kept it going form the classic lego story instead of cut it down.
too many people complained about no voices (even i did as a kid), but it grew and once the voices came in my only thought was "Fuck... I asked for this"
I just recently discovered how awesome Lego games are. Bought Lego ! Ninjago today after watching the movie in which Jackie Chan was in lol and Im going to get Lego Marvel Heroes 2 in 3 days as well among with Star Wars Payfront 2.
As odd as this may sound, I have never played a Lego video game. This would be my first foray into the Lego video game universe. However, for the game to force the player to repeat something over and over simply to unlock the cool parts is a major downside for the title. That takes away a lot of the game's fun factor. Otherwise, a great review as always and thanks!
anybody ever play the first lego game? at least I think is was the first, I just remember driving a motorcycle with a pizza cannon on it and I think you fought a boss with it...
You would love Inside knowing how you love sound in games! Its predecessor Limbo has a bonus level where you are literally blind and have to use your sense of hearing to traverse. Just incredible games.
I kinda have to disagree with you here Karak (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) but I fully enjoyed this game, in fact I loved it more than the past 4 Lego titles. The only things I would have to nitpick however would be the loss of exploring space in the open world and not being able to replay side missions. I really wish travelers tales would fix one these problems with an update or a patch or something. But great review anyway, still excited to see what you're up to next on this brilliant channel
KING ONI GRIMPACHI It's not like it was a huge investment. It was probably pennies on the overall development to put that in. You don't remove awesome features. You improve them. Sounds slow
+KING ONI GRIMPACHI Again, it's a pretty highly requested feature from the community. It's silly to not put it in. No real way to know if people weren't using the feature or not before. I for one would have beat most of them if I could play with people from my PC group.
Well couch co-op is one thing, and would be an awesome addition! But if I'm not mistaken, online MP would require servers which is pretty expensive on the publisher's part..no?
"if it doesn't print money it sure as hell buys the ink and paper and warms up the press" DAMN son, your writing is full of excellent little phrases, a treat for the ears and brain.
I really wanted this game to be good (i have bought almost all lego games) but I also have so many games I have to play XD. Thanks you saved my money, and time!!
I loved Lego Clone Wars, but I tried the demo for this game and found it kinda boring. I'm just too used to Disney Infinity's more complex combo melee combat system now when it comes to SW gameplay... especially when it comes to fighting with lightsabers.
yeah I downloaded the demo and I immediately remember why I haven't got a Lego game is years. kinda fun but I don't have time for a kinda sorta good game haha
At least the new additions don't seem to be on the same level as the incredibly boring and tedious big battle segments from Lego Star Wars 3: Clone Wars. Yeah, I'm not quite sure what the deal was with this title in adapting just one movie instead of waiting til the new trilogy was finished cause more movies means lots more content and characters. Oh well, still seems like a fun game for Star Wars fans and it's cool for the developers to go back to a brand that pretty much put them on the map at the start.
actually i loved the battles on lego star wars 3, they required strategizing and if you played with a friend they were really fun. otherwise in the story they were good too
The only serious problem I have with these Leto games is the corrupted data problem. Last time it happened to me was on lego marvel heroes. Lost all my data when I was almost 100%. Hopefully it's fixed by now because there is no reason it shouldn't be.
I always wonder about the voice work with LEGO games. Are there some hurtle that prevent the game studio from getting the raw voice audio from the movie studios?
The thing i hated most was the return of the jedi mission... don't know if disney had part in its recreation, nut it was terrible compared to what the complete saga/ lego star wars the original trilogy had to offer. I was hoping it was going to be a remastered mission but sadly not. Without watching this video i already waited for a sale and got it for $30AUD on monday. I knew the game wasn't gonna pack a lot of punch just from the pre-release demo, and after playing the story, i feel like a made the right choice. It was a fun game, don't get me wrong. BUT the first 2 games/ the complete saga were far superior to this one in the content it provided and were far more enjoyable. The old ones didn't have the flashy new game mechanics, but they played really well and you couldn't really complain about them, even the prequel levels were good (although my favourite episode is 3 when it comes to the character, general grievous and dark jedi anakin are pretty cool characters.
They should have waited for the entire trilogy to release, and then this could have had so much more potential. However, they made the same mistake as they made with the Hobbit: The prospects of quick cash killed quality. Still a good game, but could have been way better.
You messed up one thing....that's not tatooine. That's jaku, and I love Lego Star Wars the force awakens. I never liked Lego, but I love this game. Battlefront disappointed me, this is a good Star Wars games.
Just because it has a cover system doesn't mean you can keep comparing it to Gears of War. I might as well compare it to GTA IV because that had a cover system.
Of course you can..unless you arguing directly with the devs themselves...who happened to be the one who started the comparison. If so HAVE AT IT! sounds like fun.
great review. love your content. you should go back to referring to your channel as "angry centaur gaming" instead of "acg". it's catchier in my humble opinion. regardless, you got yourself a great channel.
cant and dont mind not being as catchier its not my thing really. Sadly with a couple companies strangely enough called angrycentaurgaming it was becoming a hassle
not interested in a lego game for only one movie seems so little content for the price, definitely a wait for megasale, at least with the first installments you had several movies in one game.
I thought this was the worst LEGO Star Wars game so far. I don’t like the hide behind cover and shoot at the enemies gameplay. I don’t like how little extras they have or what extras they have. I don’t like how custom characters don’t have the option for a cape. I don’t like how different lightsabers give you different force abilities. It should be blue, green, yellow, white, purple give you light side force abilities and red gives you dark side force abilities. I have this problem with LEGO Star Wars III as well were 100% game completion isn’t really worth anything unlike in TCS where your custom characters become godly. I don’t like the boss battles, I don’t like having to tap a button over and over again to beat darth sidious. The only thing good that came out of this game was voice acting and the space ship battles which I enjoy more than the original games.
Although i gotta agree and disagree with scott. Nintendo consoles were never really good with non exclusive games, but almost all of there exclusives are amazingly fun and really do not deserve the amount of shit they get. Of course the console flopped, It was a nintendo console released at the times of violent video games climbing among young gamers and parents who do not give a shit, buying gta 5 for little timmy to get his lil' rocks off.
These games are too expensive, just like the toys. Every Lego game ever made has gone on sale for as little as 1/10th of it's retail price within months of release. It's a shame because they're fun, just not $60 worth the fun.
Nope..not a true open world. Just a system where you can travel back to different areas & play them again. Like ACG says in the review, all of these games are almost exactly the same.
Great review. You have my thumbs down, man, free of charge. (Just Kidding) But seriously, it looks like the brightness level (or black level) for the video is wrong.. (Too high for some reason)
I wish I could care about Lego games, but I just can't. They bore me to tears. I am a huge Star Wars fan, so I was hoping this might be the Lego game to hook me, but it sounds like it's not. I suppose I will pass.
If you're on the fence just wait for a sale. If you're on PlayStation like me then you know it'll go on sale for half the price in a month or two..probably the sane for Xbox's store. By November it'll be $10.
+Ryan I disagree. I really enjoyed the Lego movie & I frickin' LOVED Legos when I was a kid. The two did NOT translate into a great gaming experience for me. Lego games are often boring, repetitive, and the fun times are constantly punctuated by mundane tasks that ruin the mood.
+Ryan I could also say the same for the Hobbit game. I absolutely loved those movies and I was SORELY disappointed by the game. Not to mention the $60 price tags, which are way too much for what you get.
