I used to like Lego games but after playing 5 of them or so i got tired. The licensed themes and the games themselves are good but the repetitive gameplay/mechanics across them all is simply tiring.

It's such a shame because the original Lego games were all so creative and different: Lego Racers, Creator, Loco, Legoland, Lego Island and Alpha Team all came out within 2 years of each other yet were all *completely* different genres. Since Star Wars back in 2005 they've settled on this exact same gameplay style for every single licensed game so they can churn them out more easily, that's 13 years and 24 games all playing the exact same, with very little of their franchises' unique charm carried over to the games. No wonder everyone's overdone with Lego games recently.

This is more of a filler game the good ones are the superhero or Star Wars ones and they actually improve on each other but these games like incredibles and ninjago feel really pointless and they don’t improve on the one before

No they aren't, yes they do have the unlockable characters, the building mechanics and coins in every game, but it is not just a copy and paste with different IP. When i play Lego Jurassic World vs Lego Marvel Super Heroes it's 2 entirely different games. Yes they are Lego, and yes they have open worlds, but they are both fun in their own way. I own every Lego game except this one and Lego Dimensions. That's like calling Saints Row and GTA are copys. Oh and in Lego Jurassic World you can play as dinosaurs not just characters.

Well, I was expecting you would mention Dash screams all the time. Every time he jumps or bumps against something, there is always a "Woooa". When doing time trials or just running through the city, it becomes annoying. But yeah, its just this one case.

Your review is totally what I expected the game to be. Thank you so much for an honest look at the Incredibles. I was looking to get this for my kids and I for the Switch, but it looks like we may just wait until the sale that will inevitably drop this fall/Christmas time and look to get the game then. I think what is needed badly is some awesome Disney movie DLC packs. I would totally buy it if they added on levels and characters from more of the classic Disney and Pixar movies.

I really wish the LEGO games could be 60 fps on the PS4. For me it makes a HUGE difference. 30 fps is just so icky, especially in the open world.

Oh I just remembered how wierd my controls are in Lego games :P (I use a keyboard btw) So I use arrow keys to move as normal... but then I have A as special action, S to jump and D to attack. Space to enter vehicles and quickly change characters, and U and I to go through characters in freeplay. Im just so used to them I practically cant change.

I think the only reason it may be easy is because of a certain PS2 Incredibles game, with 60% of the levels being a pain in the ass.

lego batman, that thing had some crazy hard collectibles (many collectibles) and a good dificulty for a lego game, many characters to choose from as well, and 3 different gameplays, maybe 4, but i'm sure it was just the regular one, ground vehicles and air vehicles, there might have been water vehicles too

Yeah This game felt Way too Easy and Way too rushed, the levels except one, were way short, the only reason they felt longer for me was cause I destroyed everything I could for true super. I beat game 100% and all achievement in under 20 hours overall. Definitely wait for sale 25$ or less.

I do agree that it's the easiest Lego game ever. I've never completed a Lego game 100% as quickly as I did this one. Part of it stems from the lack of pricing on red bricks and some characters, and part of it is because the gold bricks are just laying around, waiting to be collected with no challenge to get to them. They're just there. I still had fun playing, but it just doesn't hold up like the other games have, in terms of difficulty and time spent playing.

I honestly love your reviews. I had to do a written review too about this game (not so detailed as yours) and everything you said is RIGHT. Except one tiny little thing that I kinda disagree: these series don't have a big IP roaster. I mean, sure they can use ANY Pixar or Star Wars characters, but The Incredibles serie has something around 50 characters (with all dead supers in the first movie). Even so, 113 characters, mostly with civilians and goons, all sharing the same/none powers, is too much, imho. I also found this game a lot easier, but I mentioned something: you can create your superhero without limitations from the beginning. I mean, that's pretty cool, but a flying, invincible Super from the Beginning? They could be blocked like Red Bricks and unlocking upon completing the Story Missions... You forgot to mention about starting to play The Incredibles 2... and I would like to know about your "theory" about it :D

I've been a fan of Lego-games since Lego Star Wars, and when I new game comes out, I always wonder about just one thing: Is it yet another game that's 99% identical to all the others? That was my biggest issue with Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. It's easily the best game in the franchise so far, and yet... it's nearly identical to all the other games in the franchise so far. Sure, every game adds a few new things here and there, so LMSH2 is a hell of a lot better and more different from LSW1. But if you go from one game to the next, they aren't all that different. My turning point was Lego Dimensions. I bought it with the Ghostbusters and Back to th future sets, but didn't finish either of them. They are both great Lego-games (along with Dimensions), but they are both... Lego-games. Been there, done that a billion times. Really wish they could change up the formula a bit, and make the next game more unique and fresh. So while I'm a big fan of DC Comics and looking forward to Lego DC Super Villains, I expect it to be nearly identical to all the other games. Wait for major sale, in other words.

Thanks for reviewing this one Karak, me and the lad are just getting near 100% on Lego Marvel Heroes 2 so we’re ready for a new game. It sounds like this game could have been better fleshed out. Given the other problems you mention at the end I worry these games are staring to suffer a Ubisoft level of fatigue (prior to Origins.)

Oddly enough, the one major flaw you mention at the end - too easy to play - makes this title a good fit for my easily frustrated adult son with autism. Yeah, sounds like a Joe-friendly title! :-) Thank-you for the thorough review. I see Amazon has it for $29.99 download on Prime day so think I shall get it.

I’m so bored of LEGO games now, I mean the gameplay of this looks exactly like LEGO marvel super heroes 2 but with incredibles a story and has the open world of any other LEGO game ever, i mean they are getting so lazy with these and each LEGO game is becoming so repetitive and boring like no depth at all, it used to be unique and original in the past but now the almost make you pay 60 dollars for a reskin of previous game
