Something to take note of, the Switch release of this game has a misprint on the box that says it requires internet. It only needs it for updates, otherwise the full game is available off the cartridge.

For you they may not. Thats valid. But its obvious they do for others. Its been tested time and again and doing it in other orders resulted in absolutely horrendous view drops and watch time

Armando as long as they're not horrible (like undertale I think it came out 2015 just too lazy to make better graphics) i don't really care pokemon red is still fun graphics hardly ever matter to me

As much as l like the Switch, they need to do something about the price on the games. Most of the line up are from last gen, and available for under $30. l liked Skyrim, and the novelty of playing it on the go is great, but if its $60 then no, they can keep it.

I am bummed by the poor performance however Lego City is how I envisioned Lego Island looking if it ever got an update. Loved that game as a kid. Side note, anyone think it would have been awesome if Nathan Fillion voiced Chase? *Edit : Karak, are you sure it's $59.99??? I just checked and it shows $39.99.

Great review. You are becoming a go-to reviews guy for me. One question about this review though. The Wii U version for this game was critiqued (rightfully so) for having very long load screens that happened way too often. Has this issue been solved for the console versions (PS4, XBOX and Switch)? I have this one for Wii U and was thinking of upgrading while selling my old copy, but if the issue remains, I might just keep the old game. Thanks.

Matoro Zeliph I'm not sure why. I've done first 2 chapters and had zero issues game wise (rx460) The menu for resolution is broken, but it sets it to the TV perfect at first play. On the switch I already had a force crash at the dojo. And the audio went out at the mines (had to relaunch for it to come back) Seems all the versions have problems

I always tought it was for litlle kids but i realy enjoy it with al those chracters and scenes from old shows/movies. But 1 thing they realy missed (maybe because im not that far yet ) and that is radio in the car. Even 1 channel was enough. Lego city radio with news flashes, music and short talk radio segments of a minute or so

Missed this one when it came out on Wii U, seems like most people back then thoguht of it as the GTA of the Nintendo console. Seems about right, and it looks plenty fun.

Never played the original. But this game is great on Switch. As a portable, it's really enjoyable for short bursts. I think a lot of people are going to be viewing "switch" titles slightly different, since you are getting a console level game at the portable level. That doesn't magically make games better. Games with flaws, have flaws. But I know for me, there are certain games I enjoy more playing portable (or it's more suited for me). And with good games, I think Nintendo would kill it with "remakes", just because people would love to have their fav games portable. Like if Capcom re-released Resident Evil 4/5 and 6 on Switch, I would buy those in a heartbeat (even the horrible 6). So the market is there.

This game looks like a lot of fun. I missed out on the WiiU version but I am considering this for the Switch. However just like you said, that price point is what's stopping me right now. So I guess I'll wait until I see some kind of price drop on whichever console.

Thanks for the review. Didn't know this was coming to consoles. I have fun with Lego games once in a while, but I need that license to hook me in. Shallow I know, but playing as Star Wars characters, or Marvel, DC etc makes a huge difference to me.

I loved this game for the Wii U! The only thing that REALLY pissed me off were those damn load times. Load times took up to a minute, which is pathetic this day in age. Is that at all improved in the re-releases?

I have it for WiiU and I'm curious how they implemented the tablet functions on the controller, sounds like a bad port from the Wii U, what's wrong with the Wii U version are the loooong loading times. I would like to play it at 60fps, I hope the PC version is not capped to 30.

I have no issue with paying $60 for a remastered game if i didn't play the original it's an all new game for me,but I'm a hypocrite because i beat Metal Gear Solid 2-3 times on Ps1 and if they remastered it i wouldn't want to pay $60 unless the whole engine and mechanics were overhauled which may classify it more as a "remake or reboot" maybe?Idk.But right now I'm too busy with Gwent and Star Wars the Force Unleashed.

I honestly love the lego games. I have played everyone one so far. Except Lego Worlds. I love them and they are fun. Every game I to 100% Every character, gold brick, achievement possible. But this is the first that doesn't appeal to me much. It just seems to generic in my personal opinion. The thin I enjoyed about the other games it drops you into your favorite worlds or locations and you get to play them out as legos which is awesome. Jurassic World/Force Unleashed were far by the best to date. I was hoping we would have gotten a Rogue One lego but sadly not. I may pick it up when it's on sale due to the fact I enjoy the lego games. But this one/worlds don't grab my attention. First game I played was the original lego star wars (ep.1/2/3) back in the PS2 days. And its crazy to see how far they have come

seeing people complain about the price of it on the switch for being a "re-release that's 60$" is funny cause no one complained about skyrim being released at 60$ on xbox one/ps4 witch are the same to there last gen counter parts but little differences in graphical I can get the 60$ price tag complaint it is annoying it just seem I see more of these complaints toward Nintendo more than others.

MajerCore2 skyrim remaster had a lot more going for it since it was plainly a remaster of the game, included all dlc with the remaster, and allowed for mods on console. I really want to get Lego city undercover since I quite like the simplicity of Lego games, but I think I might be waiting for a price drop as well

well skyrim remastered actually gave a huge boost in graphics and resolution as well as adding mod support through all consoles meanwhile lego city undercover was just given a small resolution bump

I ended up getting it today. I had 15 In bestbuy rewards certificates that were gonna expire plus gamers club unlocked was 35 and change still overpriced but it looks fun. I would've preordered something else but I ordered everything when they had 25 off 100 with visa checkout ended up getting all the major titles for the year for under 33 bucks each. Bestbuy offers the best deals if u know how to play their sales.

I got it for $46 at Target. I've been playing it on Switch and been enjoying it a lot. The only thing I don't like is, when playing co-op the frame rate is terrible.

Got it for 31.99$ on sale which is an OK price since I haven't played it on any other console and it's a lot of fun playing in handheld mode on the Switch. 60$ is ridiculous.

Looks like they took the easy route of modeling the background scene with non Lego content, it actually makes the charm of Lego games when everything as far as you see is made of recognizable bricks, take the example of the previous movie game.

It seems as such a misstep to make all the textures apart from people and vehicles as not Legos and just gta like. It would be awesome if a Lego game could actually play like Lego - you have to build stuff to proceed, you may find rare parts, ect. Kind of like scribblenaut + minecraft + plot But Nope. Press x- see an animation of a bush being put together
