Hey Jang, I did a project for my history and geo class and used lego for my subject, and the 1891 number thats on the top of the building is actually Ole kirk's (the creator of lego's) birth year!

Pretty late, but if you still are wondering, He mean by the rules of offical lego set rule technics. Some are basically impossible for a lego set to have.

Modern day modular buildings blow the old ones away in detail. At the current inflated prices I dont see a reason to buy the old set. Save your money and get the last few sets and wait for future ones.

No, it's because Lego issued a set of instructions to their builders on the right (legal) and wrong (illegal) way to design sets. Friction and loose connections were usually illegal, however they got a bit more relaxed about it recently.

it also has to do with the pice(s) being under stress or in this case rubbing if you open the doors a lot the pice might become week or if you look at his video of the micro scale harry potter hogwarts castil he talks about the a lot more so go watch that hope this helped

I truly am so mad at myself for missing this set. Out of any previous Modular sets I am most mad to have not gotten this one. I was lucky enough to snag Grand Emporium before it went off Lego. This is just a great center piece to the street lineup and I am sad it costs so much to buy on aftermarket now :(

One more thing, the kids were actually look like dipper and mabel (almost) from the tv show "gravity falls" the only thing that will mmake them look like them is that you put the magnifying glass in to the boys hand and put the popsicle stick on the girls hand.

This was a my first ever Lego set. It's the set that got me hooked into Lego. Now I have it up with a trio of different bride & grooms at the front steps, with Abe Lincoln looking over them from the balcony

JANGBRICKS I was wondering for my first modular should I get the Town Hall, Pet Shop, Parisian Restaurant, or the Fire Brigade. I thought maybe the pet shop since it comes with two buildings and residential but what do you think.

+cave miner I have all of them I would get the fire brigade as it is very big and a nice set! there is also a lot of detail. The pet shop is nice but the house is not completed and doesn't have any inside detail apart from steps, boxes and a painter, my personal opinion :)

well the problem is that the fire brigade is out of production and will probably be a lot more expensive than the others you listed unless you have some great fortune on your side

I have this set and one thing I will note is that the height of the first floor makes it difficult to play in. You kinda have to reach in there to move the minifigs around. Overall tho, I like the set and I like the review, Jang!

I have a feeling that this Town Hall set is not as popular compare to the other modular buildings. On the Lego website it has been sold out for a long time, and it seems like they are not planning to make more of it.

I think it would be a cool design for those windows at top, or garge door pices in a circular design, to make a green house when you steal/use that design
