My workaround for lego sets with no specific light sets. I bought 5 briksmax kits on sale over Christmas ( 3 corner garage/ $15 and 2 brick bank $17) that had lots of different colored lights and hubs. Now i have more than enough lighting for all of my wife's miscellaneous sets. Way cheaper and easier then buying individual lights. ❤

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Right now I have only one building with lighting in my city. The thought of doing more has been intimidating so seeing that BrickLoot system is very helpful. It certainly makes your already awesome city even more interesting to view!

Your lighting is ‘lit’! , said the wannabe cool dad trying to relate to his 10 year old daughter. Seriously though, that daisy chained system is genius! Looks great.

Cool - it seems like a pretty flexible system! I love the plug-functionality - that's really nice for people like me who can't figure out how to link cords and such! I'm wondering, if you have come up with a neat way to avoid a massive mess of wires everywhere!? Do you use labels or something? Thanks for sharing this review and tutorial - keep up the great work!

I can see some pros compared to Light My Bricks, one of them is that Brick Loot generally seems to be a little bit cheaper. LMB are way more flexible though and I would guess that only 3-4 USB connections would have been enough for everything you have lighted up so far. That can be critical if you don’t have a lot of space underneath to hide all cables.

Really good info. Thanks for sharing!! Now is it cheaper to get the kits for Lego's modulars prebuilt or buying the brick loot set ups? I do understand i depends on which kit you are buying for, anyways great video!!!!!

Making your own is really cheap - a bid fiddly with the super thin wires, but a 5 metre reel with 600 micro LEDs cost under $5, or use the lower density 150 LEDs per 5 reel even cheaper and you can get them in all colours, including warm white which is more "natural" in colour than the "Brilliant White" versions!!

Thats cool How easy are the to disconect from each White plug Would it be easier to do modulars with the so u can disconect each floor

What’s the life span of a light? Have you had to replace any yet do to burning out?

I have yet to actually buy some of those lights but LEDs have a very long lifetime. 50,000 hours of runtime is typical. That's a long time
@MrBookieboo
@MrBookieboo 5 лет назад
That is a good question. I haven’t had any burnout in over a year so far. Most of the lights have multiple leds too.
