Grandfather was a bomber in the Pacific, on a B-24-D. You did a very nice job. He'd be proud. Everyone always forgets about the B-24s. :]

Yes, I know this is a late comment. But unfortunately if it got to 10000 votes LEGO probably wouldn’t make it a set. For one. Lego doesn’t do ww2 or military stuff. And 2, I can’t tell but it looks like it has just to many pieces.

I hate to be that know-it-all guy, but at 1:45 the builder says that the U.S. Eighth Air Force bombed Romania's oil fields, but it was actually the U.S. Fifteenth Air Force, created by Jimmy Doolittle. It's common to credit the Eighth Air FOrce for lots of things, but the Fifteenth was actually more responsible for V-E Day because they bombed the oil running Germany. Not that the Eighth didn't do amazing things...

I'm not sure if that's completely correct since the greenhouse nose wasn't really around when they tail turret was. I'm not sure of course since it's difficult at times to see the real differences between b24's

It's completely accurate for a B-24D :) . The B-24 went through several models before they decided that a turret could be useful on both the back and the front of the plane. This plane in particular is modeled off of the one at the USAF Museum in Dayton.

no biggie, as you mentioned it is difficult at times to see the differences, especially since so few have survived. I had to do a lot of research before I built the model.
