Back in 1956-57, we lived on CFB Rivers, Manitoba and I recall my mother talking to a friend about a story on the news about a very young boy who knew things no child that age could possibly know about fighter planes. A very similar story to this one, for sure. I also remember my mother saying that once the adults around that child started asking him questions and pressing for details, he began to clam up and as he got older he could no longer remember anything about his previous life. I thought at first this was the same story but the timing doesn't work. All the same this is one of the most compelling stories I have ever read - I was literally crying at the end when James was sobbing at the place his plane went down. Thank goodness he had such wonderful parents but, then again, he picked them himself...... Louise Huot

Fascinating story. I got the book today, the first day of Summer 2020. Its interesting to hear James say there is more to tell. Ever since I began following this story, I've had the utmost respect and admiration for both Bruce and Andrea. And as well, James too of course. I won't say that its changed my life because I've always been a 'believer' but its made it even richer and taken away so much of the fear as I go into my senior years. As much as this, it also eases my heartache for my Parents who both lived exceedingly painful and 'unfair' lives for much of their time. I'd like to feel they've moved on to much greener fields. Thank you all.

A touching story and a brave attempt by a family trying to make sense of something that may have been overwhelming. As with any discovery that challenges preconceived notions, this one required humility. I admire both parents for showing the love and humility their son needed in order to heal. And I admire their efforts to make this story known -- a truly Christian thing to do.

as someone who did not previously believe in reincarnation, my first reaction upon finishing this book was "what a fascinating fabrication to promote the concept of reincarnation!" but then my analytical side jumped into the process...saying "YEARS went into the creation of this book...with details that are otherwise wholly unnecessary" One example of this was the historical detail: James Huston Jr. was first trained to fly the F4u Corsair (one of the Navy's top-of-the-line fighter planes) but when he actually deployed, he was assigned to a squadron that used the slightly older F4f Wildcat. I had taken great interest in *pacific* WW2 history, yet this was something I had never heard of before. (but as a Navy veteran myself, is TOTALLY believable) and then the next book i read cemented my outlook...i dare say ALL of us had and will have other lives to live. and I can understand ANYONE's skepticism, as i was a non-believer previously as well...

You are correct Bruce, you did listen. You so easily could have dismissed it. I think you and Andrea handled the situation beautifully.

The book you have written is amazing. Congratulations for the job that required a very deep research, long time and hard work, as you were meticulous on details. Thank you for sharing with us this amazing life experience. I believe on it.

It's a very interesting story, but looking up the etymology of the words "soul" and especially "spirit", I think he has the terms reversed. Our spirit appears to be the avatar of the soul. In other words, our spirit is a living soul (with a body). When a soul is incarnated or reincarnated (as the case may be), it take the form of a spirit in each individual person. In other words, the soul changes form and becomes the spirit within us. It's like the difference between lava and magma. When magma breaches the surface it becomes lava the way the spirit breaches the confines of our body and returns to being a soul. If someone breaks our spirit, we're talking about what happens to us during our experience on earth. When we talk about saving our souls, we're talking about what happens to our spirit after we die. I do not think they are different entities, they are merely different forms our true selves depending on the setting. It's not much of a stretch then to say our spirit is only a part of our soul as we do not typically have memories of our past lives that we can consciously recall (not yet for most of us anyway). It is like our soul is immersed in a virtually reality program and only the spirit version of the soul (the character) is consciously aware. A spirit my rise from an out of body experience, but it only has access to its conscious self (the spiritual side of things) at that point. When we truly transition (beyond a NDE), our spirit becomes whole once again and resumes its form as our soul. That's what I believe based on the origins of the words and how it seems to fit when considering what we know about near death experiences and reincarnation.

stanbimi, you are so wrong. The reincarnation (rebirth, to be accurate) is not a phenomenon that befits the concept of theist religions. You know it. It only destroys your religious belief, not enhances it. It is, however, a phenomenon that embraced by Buddhism and Hinduism. Buddhism, in particular, recognizes that rebirth is not only possible, but a fact. Buddhism also recognizes evolution. As a matter of fact, both evolution and rebirth must co-exist. Without the other, one is impossible.

Read "Journey of Souls" by Dr. MIchael Newton. After reading, this and everything else about the afterlife and reincarnation will make sense.

Andrea's expressions and way of talking (and her face) are reminiscent of Parker Posey's character in Best in Show. But not the bitchy scenes; just when she's talking nicely and calmly earlier on in the movie.

If it's true that James Huston was reincarnated as James the boy, then personality is not one of the things that stays with a soul. Which makes sense because we know we get a lot of our personality from our phyiscal brain and what we inherit from our biological parents. If personality and other such traits were passed on, then James the boy would behave and talk like an adult from the 1940s. It seems that only memories and consciousness survive if this is true.

Interesting thing that JAMES came to remember his past life as a young pilot falling victim to a war started by the Pearl Harbor situation, which has its good collection of false flag conspiracy theory promoters in a time when the September World Trade Center catastrophe was happening ... The book mentions that a TV program dealing with reincarnation was looking for a "military" reincarnation case because the US was in war with Afganistan and were very interested in this case being presented ... I remember the case of Jenny Cockell, a british woman who had been an irish mother in a former life when Britan and Ireland were more led by hatred than cooperation for each other.

I call BullShit and his parents making all this up. Why wouldn’t they record what there kid said and his nightmares. They had money and the means to buy a camera or a camcorder. They just keep telling us what there kid said and no proof he actually did say this.

The story is amazing, but the book is poorly written, boreing, more about a medicated mom having trouble raisin one child, and a struggling husband in a struggling country... And a phatetic attemp to pprofite from it. Very American.
@ncgreg231

i can only surmise you are not american. I sincerely hope you do not hold a US passport...i somehow missed the part of the mom being medicated??? Certainly there are MANY moms who ARE medicated, but what part of the book made ANY mention of Andrea's medication? Based on the brief words you shared, i don't see you to be in much position to offer credible criticism of a book about reincarnation...seems like you just want to talk negatively about America? as you say..."boreing"

@@ncgreg231 I suspect Jorge was referring to the following passage: "Andrea's doctor put her on Paxil" (p. 35, UK edition; p. 31, US edition). Paxil is an anti-depressant. According to the book's timeline, this would've been mid-June 2000. Several pages later - in the same month - we're told that Andrea was regularly drinking wine during nightly baths (p. 47, UK edition; p. 40, US edition). SSRIs don't mix well with alcohol. And their combo in a bathtub is an extremely bad idea.
