Lemon Meringue Pie | French, Posh but so Easy... 

I love how Alex has evolved from this cute, happy guy trying to share the joys of cooking with you to a tortured soul, obsessed with unlocking forbidden knowledge.

I had this sweet dessert many times in bakeries in France. At first I thought it might be to difficult to make, but seriously it's not. It requires a bit of effort, right, but it's SO REWARDING ! you do it, you tell me :)

Thanks for the recipe. I made this for my parents, and they really liked it! I had to whisk the egg whites by hand and my arms were sore by the end, but it was delicious and worth the effort.

I like this. A recipe, a little technique and a tasty end product. As interesting as the deep dives may be, we want more of this.

This lemon pie is simply amazing!!!... just a couple notes: 1. the pastry must be pinched with a fork making little holes so is not going to make bubbles (like you mentioned in the video) I did that and it was perfect! 2. I make my merengue in another way, first whisk well the eggs until almost thick and then ad sugar (confectioners powder sugar) and just some drops at the end of vanilla flavour and also of lemon flavour. This way the merengue is going to cook faster and have more color on the decoration and looks more tasty :) Your lemon custard was so delicious! Thanks so much for your lovely recipes!

I had no idea this was a French pie. It probably explains why it is my favorite pie. :) Your recipe looks a lot easier than the one I tried to make years ago. Plus the "cooling it down before adding the meringue" part is probably where I went wrong before. My cornstarch broke, so I ended up with sweet, lemon, egg soup for a filling.

I ussually make an anglaise creme with lemon juice and lemon zest but your curd looks SO good and simple I'm gonna try it next time.

Hi alex, you should probably put an annotation to let the viewers know how long you need to rest the lemon sauce in the fridge to let it set. from my experience. its about 1.5 hours. But thanks anyway. so delicious

My makes meringue pie frequently since a favorite in our family. We like more twang in the lemon part so she adds a tad more lemon juice.

I had no idea this was French! I've been eating, and making, it all my life (I'm a Brit). I thought lemon meringue pie was a rustic British version of the proper posh Tarte Au Citron. I never, ever, thought of lemon meringue as 'posh'. Indeed, I'm fairly sure we were given this at school back in the 1970s (and British school food was terrible then).

So cool! I want to try the drill whisk :)

I might need to adjust the amount of ingredients for my pan size (8" loose bottomed cake tin, I don't have a pie pan :P). Also, you chill your dough after mixed together or you directly bake it without chill it in the fridge beforehand? Merci beaucoup. :)
