Lemon pepper turkey
Delicious turkey recipe for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any fancy occasion.
Ingredients:
1 whole turkey
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
Salt to taste
Black ground pepper to taste
½ onion
10 garlic cloves
¾ cup lime juice
1 cup orange juice
2 baking bag
1 tablespoon flour
Preparation: 210 minutes
Serves: 10 pax
Preparation:
Put the turkey inside a tray and inject with milk using a turkey syringe, especially in the breast area to make the meat moist and tender. Leave resting at least 2 hours before baking or do it one day in advance and let rest in refrigeration.
Season the turkey with salt and pepper. Insert 2 disposable thermometers, one on each breast half. Cover with slices of butter.
Blend the onion with the garlic cloves, lime juice, orange juice and a teaspoon of salt in the blender.
Add a tablespoon of flour inside the baking bag, inflate a little and shake to distribute.
Put the turkey inside the baking bag. Cover the turkey with the blended onion mixture. Seal the bag. Bake on top of a deep baking tray in a preheated oven at 300 °F (150º C) for 2 hours and a half or until the thermometers indicate the turkey is done. Time depends on the weight of the turkey.
Remove from the oven and slice while it is still hot with an electric knife. Strain the juices from the turkey.
Serve the turkey slices covered with the juices.
