Thank you for the honest and thoughtful review of these shoes. I ordered a pair to be worn at work which I spend a lot of time walking around in dirt/small rounded gravel. I need something thicker than the Primal Zen’s I’ve been wearing. Hopefully these will work out.
Hey let me know how they work out for you. I wanted to order these for work myself I spend a lot of time walking at a hospital so I was thinking about this shoe because if I wear shoes that are too cushiony that alters my gate and I always end up with sore calves
So I just put on my Lone Peak 5s to compare (a little old now, I can't keep up haha!). I'd say the Lone Peaks are wider in the mid foot, sorry! Have you looked at any Xeros? WAY thinner stack heights but they seem to be wide throughout the entire shoe. Might be an option for you!
Awesome review! I'm loosing my mind trying to decide on my casual city/light hiking summer shoes. Need a wide toe box (I have wide flat feet) and decent cushioning from hard surfaces. My previous experience with minimalist zero drop shoes was terrible (wearing them at home now instead of slippers). Any suggestions?
We would suggest the Lems Primal Zen! It has a little less stack height than the Persuit, but we think it's the perfect city/light hiker. Very generous toe box, comfortable underfoot, ventilated well, great color options, it's a tough one to beat.
I purchased these shoes after loving the Drifter, Chelsea, and Chillum so I thought I would give these shoes a shot for hiking. But they don't fit like those other shoes, the midfoot is too tight and the toe area is not as wide so I returned them.
On their website the Chelsea is the only one out of the ones you mentioned that is in their widest category. We haven't tried any of those unfortunately, but I would imagine them designing the Persuit with a tighter fit so that it's more secure for active wear like hiking and such. Still has a wider toe box and more natural foot shape than most of the shoe industry. Sad they didn't work out for you, totally happens though!
I don't know the measurement sorry, I'm sure it changes a bit based on the size you'd need to. These are the middle width as far as Lems shoes go. Definitely foot shaped and wide, but not as wide as their Primal 2 or Primal Zen.
@@DevelopingNL thx! Problem is that im transitioning, so i need a pair that is more like altra or joe nimble trail addict when i run. Can't run my 30k with Pure barefoot shoes.
@@kallekarlsson2386 Topo Athletic is another brand with wide toe boxes and bigger stack heights. A lot of people prefer them to Altra. I just got the Runventure 4, we'll be putting out a review on them at some point!
