Thin, fat, young, old or whatever Lenny Clarke is kickass funny! Worked with him many times and did some of those shows at the Ding Ho back in the day and the guy makes me laugh until it hurts every time.

Saw Lenny tonight at his brother Mike's Comedy Club, "Giggles", in Saugus, Ma., - He's a frikkin riot!! You rock, Lenny! There's a classic vid of him and Denis Leary in the booth during a Red Sox game commandeering the commentary - announcers Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo unable to stop laughing.
Wow, what a video. Lenny was the most original and craziest comedian in Boston and practically started the Boston Comedy Scene singlehandedly. Audiences would line up for blocks to see him at the DING HO because he was notorious for having the craziest shows in town. Leary started out performing in Lenny and Barry's shows, and Clarke would tear the roof off the Ding every wk.
Loved his show where he had cancer surgery and got bloated. They told him to walk around and it would come out and he walks into the elevator he says "Oh no" then the door closes. The elevator opens on the next floor and he gets the most disgusted looks from those on the elevator with him.
What happened with this guy? Was it wrong place, at the wrong time? Addiction? Did he decide to get off the road and be a family guy? I always hear all these killer much more famous comics today mention him as an influence and how unbelievably talented he was. I don't know much about his history? I was just wondering why he never really broke into any mainstream outlets over the years?
he performs all over still , especially Boston area,Giggles comedy club,, hes funny as hell !!!! starred in rescue me about ten years ago and has a big film due out next year ,, he keeps busy !
Good question.. Still not answered though. I didnt know of him until a recent lawyer commercial. Has to be something I want to say alcohol. He is thin now though!
To hell with being thin, hear what Lenny was talking about back in 1987 (Catholics, Muslims, homosexuality, and America being hated by other countries). He needs to repeat this same stand up routine now to see what kind of reaction he gets.
