You can take the backplate off, theres a two Face adhesive that a bit tricky but doable. Try with to pry tools and slowly move it all the way around, or use a hairdryer and make it a bit warm. Also pushing the stand off slowly aswell. Might aswell go with a new case if u change the MOBO imo

Not sure why someone would buy a Lenovo Legion, than put in a MSI MB, and liquid cooling. I built a PC from scratch for 2k with a I9 16core. I used EVGA PS, MB, same Graphics card. Only difference is mine is white case and doesn't have Lenovo on it and have 3x 1tb Samsung 990 EVO PCIe.

Hi, I bought this motherboard for home lab project. The issue I got is it's not booting. No lenovo logo and no power to usb on the back. I tried everything. Fans do run. It doesn't have onboard video outputs so can't try other display plugs than the GPU ones The only thing I see is I don't have the second CPU atx 4 pin connector plugged in because my PSU doesn't have it. Is it required, do you think the motherboard NEEDS it to boot?

I've done the same thing to my Legion T7-34IMZ5, "Upgrading" this POS system is a pain in the ass and a rabit hole, first you think hey, lets swap the memory for faster, than you find it has no XMP support, than you see the BIOS, and think why the F is this even a Z490, and you decide F it, need to swap this POS motherboard, I'll just re-use the cooler, than you find the backplate that's like welded on the board, making you buy a new CPU cooler, of course water cooled, than you notice the difference in fan quality, and think this really bothers me............ Long story short, if you consider buying a Lenovo gaming PC thinking you can upgrade it, DON'T DO IT !! If you are not technical, and won't ever touch it, you could, it's a nice "base" system for that. Was it worth the upgrade for me, YES, I gained like 40 fps in a heavy game like warzone. I added; MSI mag core liquid 240r MSI MAG Z490 TOMAHAWK (Allowed me to slightly overclock my 10700K) G.Skill Trident Z RGB CL16 2 x 16 GB USB 3.0 front panel extension cable Front panel extension cables

Swapping my motherboard ATM. Honestly, I wanted to swap my motherboard so I could get rid of the Lenovo crap and enable XMP for my RAM instead of using disgusting CL22 timings. Also, trying to use a Ryzen CPU instead of the Intel one it came with since that one thermal throttled waaaaay too much. Got to say everything was smooth sailing until the front io and LEDs. Dang proprietary board had some whack connectors. Computer booted up after installation, but fans went turbo. Like I mean 4000 rpm. Any idea how to fix this? I tried the bios settings, but it didn't change anything.
@JeffTheITGuy
@JeffTheITGuy 2 года назад
Make sure the fans are Connected to the motherboard, I don’t think it has a fan hub I can’t remember but definitely check to make sure the fans are connected to the motherboard then in the bios manually set their voltage until they run at like 1300 rpm

Hi Jeff The IT Guy and congratulations on the video. I own a Lenovo Legion T530-28ICB and have changed the proprietary motherboard, to an Asrock B365 Phantom Gaming. Thanks to your video, I solved the ignition problem and by inserting the PLED + and PLED- cables, in the two remaining holes I managed to turn on the front white led. I have a problem: the Lenovo audio cable is not working. Do you have any advice for correct operation?
@JeffTheITGuy
@JeffTheITGuy 2 года назад
Ahh the front panel connector. Yeah I noticed that as well. You have to pin it out and use an extension cable, it’s not worth it really. My suggestion, plug into the audio ports on the back of the PC.

@@delambo88 Hi Dean and happy new year. For the front usb 3.0 cable there are no problems: you can insert it into its slot. Instead, the audio cable is Lenovo's proprietary, and in practice it has two more pins than the traditional audio cable, which you find in any case.

I honestly 100% enjoyed this video, I've watched it 4 t8mes in the last year because I, in fact, have that same computer, the amd 7 5800 with the 24L case... it is and was a total pain. But you could have gotten everything to hook up if you really wanted to. Especially that usb 3 front panel header from lenovo, they have it, and a lot of those other cables ran so crappy. Just takes more time to mess with than you seem to have wanted to give it. All n all love the videos you made upgrading this pc. I personally decided, because of the same odd ram issues with the lenovo board, to just keep that pc the way it is, and use it as an editing rig. I mean it won't be the best, but I mean it does have 2 nvme, wifi/bluetooth, usb c back input, a total of 4 usb 3.1s and 2 usb 2.0 with a few extra headers.... so yeah, besides the crappy ram issue and the proprietary lenovo rgb software and front logo, the computer has been solid since I had mine built by Best Buy. I had them add 32gb of ram , 1tb nvme to the other slot, and I waited in line for the evga 3070ti ftw3 card, so the included oem 1660 super never really saw the light of day😂 I just sold it for 300 and used the 300 to start a 600 budget build with a ryzen 5 5600g 😅 so that will be my gaming rig. I've had my lenovo for a year, and it's still doing well, Maybe you can give us an update about it when you have some time.😊👍🏾 great few videos on the lenovo, great videos all together on your channel. 😎✌🏾
