I am glad you found my video helpful. Yes, daisy chaining is little tricky. But if you want to use external docking station instead, they should work just fine without having to turning on daisy chain option from the monitor.

One short question: is it necessary, that the second monitor is the same as the first? I wanted to buy me an ThinkVision P27h-20, but only once and was looking for another monitor, that is cheaper and not a docking Station. And second question: is it necessary to have a Thunderbolt 4 Device on the Laptop or is the inbuild docking station enough, to connect to monitors?

If you are daisy chaining, I would get the same model monitors.

Hi wanted to ask, so I have a Lenovo laptop which has a usb c input. As the Lenovo monitor has both a usb c input also and a hdmi input. Is it best to get a hdmi to usb c lead? Or a straight usb c to usb c lead for displaying capabilities?

Older laptop usb C are not capable of transferring video to the monitor. You can try installing display link software to activate video transferring. If it still doesn't help, connecting via HDMI is the way to go. Be sure to check your laptop spec to get detail about your USB c capabilities.

@@gotechtalk this laptop is relatively new. It does mention that it had display output with an external monitor if paired. Was just wondering if a direct usb c to usb c connection would work rather than having to get a hdmi adapter instead

Yes, if the laptop USB c is capable of video transfer and your monitor also has usb c, you can get the USB c to USB c thunderbolt cable for connecting to external display.

Once I connect the 2nd monitor, it scales down from 2k to 1080p. Do you know if there is any way of doing 2k in both monitors simultaneously?

Check your display setting on both monitors and match them with same resolution in both. Hope that helps.

Docking station I have only has 2 display ports and doesn't come with any HDMI port. But you should be able to use one display and one HDMI, I haven't tested that way though tbh.

You need to daisy chain both monitors to make dual monitors work if you want to use only one USB C cable that connects to to your laptop. But you should also be able set up dual monitors using docking station or directly connecting each monitor to the computer.

Update: For dual monitors to work on some laptops, connect USB C to the monitor where display out cord is connected, then connect USB C to your laptop, bingo.

So when I follow this step by step the 2nd monitor that does not have the usb-c plugged in - locks up the menu, I can turn it on and the menu will pop up but I can’t scroll I attempted unplugging everything and holding the power button 15 seconds to drain static power but that did not work. I then swapped which monitor is display in and out but the same issue persisted on the new secondary monitor

The issue was that the usb-c should’ve been plugged into the monitor showing the display port out (arrow) After I swapped them it fixed the issue

@@Mxl2201 Glad you figured out. Yes, somehow USB C coming out of the monitor with display in also worked on my macbook, its been working that way on my macbok. But on some Mac you need to connect USB C to the monitor that Display out is connected. Great.

Hi, have you checked the audio output in the setting? Make sure laptop audio output is selected.

It's hard to say, because monitors back plate housing comes in different shape. I would check the dimension of the plate and screw hole positions.

My monitor doesn’t have USB-C so the screen is connected from laptop to screen using USB-C -> HDMI… u want to use the main monitor from Display port to display port but the monitor won’t let me change the setting to do a daisy chain

Connect laptop directly to the monitor without daisy chaining and try out, should let you play around with the menu options. Hope that helps.

I don't understand this. You showed 1 USB-C cable and said that is all you need. I assumed to connect one end of the USB-C cable to one monitor Display-in and the other end of the USB-C cable to the other monitor Display-out, but then I saw you using an HDMI cable for Display-out... That is a little bit confusing. Your words seem not to correspond with the video images.

No. He uses a USB C to USB C Cable to connect the FIRST Monitor to the Laptop and he uses a displayport to displayport Cable to connect the FIRST monitor with the second one. 😊

A terrible monitor. Shipped with UK power connecting cable (does not have the right end), that does not fit into the supplied power adapter that shipped with the monitor! Now having purchased the right cable from Amazon, the monitor powers up, but despite connecting my Lenovo Yoga to the Monitor USB C connecting cable, the monitor is not detected! Overall terrible experience. Do not buy this monitor!

I have no issue with these monitors, they work great. Mine came with US based power cable. This is the best monitor I ever had.
