I have now the Yoga 7 Gen 7 with the AMD 6800u. In general built quality etc. is really nice. I have the OLED but consider they consume more power in comparision to IPS. Also consider the touchlayer with the pixel orientation of OLEDs produces a noticeable mesh if you are closer whith white background. For me it's not a problem, in dark mode or video you won't see it an also on Word or so i have no problem with that. I just wanted to mention it, that for sensitive people maybe the IPS is better ;-) If it's possible to get this in your country i would recommend the ryzen version! With the 6000 series you have USB 4 (one of both usb-c ports) also with 40gbit/s and i think so there is no gap to official Thunderbolt 4. With the ryzen you will get less power consumption in idle, office or video. Also the performance/watt is better and the amd graphics has more power than intel iris. But i think also the AlderLake version Yoga 7i should be a nice decision! My Rembrandt with OLED should consume the same (maybe more) like the AlderLake with IPS Some interesting notes: I had to send back Lenovos 9i and Asus Rog X13 because both with their small (in diameter) dualfans produced terrible high frequent sound like a jet turbine and coil whining was also noticeable on both. My yoga 7 with one larger fan and maybe because it's a little bit thicker has not on of that problems!
@@giladriv I bought it directly on lenovos homepage (austrian shop). It was only the possibility for a configuration, but i got enough student discount. Components: AMD Ryzen 6800u, 16Gb Ram, 1 Tb SSD, 2,8K oled. The product number: 82QFCTO1WW
Did you notice any screen flickering with the AMD version of this PC. I have read there is an easy solution to fix this with the integrated intel software, but I am wondering how to fix this issue with the AMD version. I am considering the AMD, but that part is holding me back.
You can find our i5-1240P benchmark video, testing it against the i5-1235U and Ryzen 5 5625U, here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8bVimSqwFgE.html
Hello there! I just got my Yoga 7i unit with i7-1260p, it's design, build quality and performance is superbbb! However, the battery life is indeed worse than I expected, the fan noise is noticeable and it feels a bit warm even in idle. Not sure if it is the same as yours? Thanks!
I've not had a chance to test extensively on battery, but being a 28W CPU it can chew through it quite quickly under load, particularly in High Performance mode. What short of battery life are you seeing and does your machine have the OLED display?
Yes, got Yoga 9 and same issue, i got it returned, it's too noisy and hot even on idle. Maybe you can set CPU Power Management to 99% instead of 100% in the settings, so it will avoid Turbo Boost. Even limited, this CPU is a beast, no need for much power in low/idle.
@@toto7571 Curious if the power management adjustments you mentioned or if there are Bios options to limit turbo boost can help with these hot and noisy thin laptops. There's no reason these new chips need to run so hot and draw so much power during the most mundane tasks. I disabled boosting on my Ryzen 4700u laptop and chip barely draws 7-9 watts and stays cool and quiet. Perfect for just browsing the internet. With all the talk about intel efficiency cores and windows 11 integration, I thought these things would sip power and remain unobtrusive unless being taxed hard. Maybe my expectations were too high, I thought these could operate with Jasper Lake efficiency and basically run passively cooled during low load scenarios.
Bought the 1240p variant yesterday and today i am experiencing a yellow tint on the display (there from first boot) is it normal that white color looks yellowish in 1240p or there is a problem ? Its a 2.2k ips panel 100% srgb Please help If there is any fix please share.
I recently purchased a Lenovo - Yoga 7i 16" Core i7-1260P with a WQXGA ultra bright 400 nits display featuring a 16:10 screen and 2560 x 1600 resolution from Best Buy. This model also seems to use up battery life faster than I would like. It's not awful. But it can drop-down 10 to 12 percent in an hour simply surfing and watching a few RU-vid videos like this one. I'm not sure how many hours it would last, say, after, 2 hours of this type of use. But my guess is maybe another 5 or 6 hours. I believe it states 11 hours with moderate use from the manufacturer. Unrelated to that. I have a question about "Use HDR" located under the display settings. This model has Dolby Vision and supports Play streaming HDR video, but there is no support for "Use HDR," which is located right beneath it. HDR streaming is enabled. Therefore I cannot view HDR videos in EDGE browser on RU-vid. Only HD. I took back last years model to buy this new version and that one ironically supported HDR Use and clearly showed HDR on settings icon under the video playing. Any ideas about why this may be? Thank you.
This was Lenovo's response. I'm satisfied. "The Lenovo Yoga 7i 16, model number 82QG0000US, ships with a brightness level of 400 nits. The screen provides 100 Percent of the sRGB color gamut for excellent color accuracy. The screen is Low Blue Light and Dolby Vision Certified. Lenovo has chosen to use Dolby Vision exclusively for the highest quality video playback at 2560 x 1600 resolution. When compared to Dynamic HDR, this means that if you are watching an HDR movie on an HDR display, HDR10 will set the same metadata for the entire film. In contrast, Dolby Vision can change information such as color and brightness dynamically, thus making the viewing experience more immersive."
Hi, can you do a review on Ryzen 5 5600H and it's equivalent Intel 12th gen processor and compare both of their performance with Ryzen 5 5625U just like you did in your previous video? Not a lot of people have covered Ryzen 5 5600H so would be great to see that. You can use ASUS Vivobook 16x or any other laptop of your choice with Ryzen 5 5600H for this purpose. धन्यवाद।
This device is hot, but literally hot. You can use it for some ribs. I got it returned. And comes with enviromental sound, of nascar. zoom zoom zoooooom. The fan is too noisy.
Question. I cannot get HDMI out to work. I used a 2-year-old ASUS right after trying and it worked fine. I followed instructions on how to set up HDMI through the Multiple displays settings under Display settings. Changed the resolution of the laptop to a lower one, but with no success. I'm not sure if someone else has had a problem and success, but if so, please let me know. Thank you.
So it did work right away on my 65-inch 4K TV. The answer must be getting the resolution set correctly because the problem I had was on a smaller TV that wasn't 4K. I changed the resolution on my Lenovo, trying lower ones, but could not get it to work properly on the smaller non-4 K TV. Not a big problem. But it still should have been easier. Maybe I'll try on the smaller TV here at home to see what resolution works. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the one I had trouble getting the HDMI to work on as it was while out of town.
This was a very good in-depth review and this laptop looks nice. I have my eyes on the 14 inch ideapad with the same processor onboard. I'm a graphic designer and would not do gaming on it (apart from the occasional old strategy games from 2003) but running vector illustration software's and photo editing, video editing I'm curious to see if based on your experience that would be suitable for my use case.
I hate that reviewers film and talk about keyboard and touchpad for a while, and all the time not pressing a single key, God forbid show side shoot of actual typing across most of the keys.. trying to hide some keyboard flex or what?
Not trying to hide anything - I'm more than happy to show the faults in a product! Simply not something I'd considered so thanks for the comment - I'm bear it in mind in future!
So far battery life has been ok, if not spectacular - I'd guess 7+ hours in my normal usage. Fan noise isn't too bad but can ramp up in the High Performance mode.
is there a dell Inspiron 14 5425 ryzen 5 5625u with 2240 x 1400 resolution display 64Whr battery capacity?.please check this out and if possible review it.
Really good video. Can you add here thermal profile of this laptop? I'm looking for buy this pc, anc I'm glad to now temperature in idle or low duty (writing and tab on browser) and fan noise. Thank you.
Many laptops only have the option of "Help improve battery life by optimizing the content shown and brightness" Just to make sure what options do Yoga 7i Gen 7 has
Hi, do you also see little dots on the screen when on a white content for example ? I have Yoga 7 AMD, and I did notice that, it's pretty annoying for the price ! Really not perfect white...
I believe the difference is the MacBook is a unibody - it is machined from a single piece of aluminium rather than being a flat sheet which is pressed into shape.
Define best? Pure performance? How much does battery life matter to you? I have a video comparing i5-1240P, i5-1235U and Ryzen 5 5625U here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8bVimSqwFgE.html
I use this laptop as my home computer. It's always sitting at my desk and I don't use it outside my home at all. So if I leave it plugged in with power cord all the time, would that make the battery "die" much sooner than it supposed to be? Do I need to unplug it? If yes, how often do I have to do that? What would you suggest users like me to do?
I would suggest you leave it unplugged when working on it then plug in at the end of the day. I have a work laptop always plugged in and when I take it on the road (very rare) the battery will last about 1-2 hrs on a charge or even less.
