Today we are testing the new LOMO professional cinema lenses of the ILLUMINA Mk.II, S 35 series, manufactured by the Russian LOMO OJSC, and compare them with the old Soviet lenses manufactured by the LOMO OKS series and anamorphic cinema lenses of the BAS series. Also participating in our survey are the Carl Zeiss Distagon * T 85 mm T1.4 lens from the 80s, and the modern Samyang 14mm T3.1 lens for Canon. We will compare sharpness, working with highlights in the frame, backlighting and bokeh. We test the new ILLUMINA lenses on the Blackmagic URSA Pro Pl-mount, and the old optics on the Blackmagic URSA 4.6K Canon-mount. From COLOR CORRECTION, only black and white levels were applied equally for all tests.
Participants of the review in order - lenses LOMO OKS11-35-1 T2.3, LOMO Illumina Mk. II 35 mm T1.3, LOMO OKS1-75-1 T2.2, Carl Zeiss Distagon * T 85 mm (Contax), LOMO Anamorphic BAS23 (75 mm, T2.2), Samyang 14 mm T3.5, LOMO Illumina 14mm T1.9.
