Okay, this is the hardest pokemon champion because boy, he is consistently a thorn in my side. The Battle Tower saddens me. ★ Support the boi : / etce ★ Twitch : / etce ★ Twitter : / etcesona
Etce: I Hate You Leon Leon: too bad I have to beat you hahaha hahaha this gmax Charizard use gmax wildfire etce no don't do a super effective hit on snowfall Leon: yes I tell my Charizard what to do a gmax Wildfire will hurt you etce : Leon I hate you so much I have Flanders witch can use Aqua tail oh no your g-maxing! Flanders time to Dynamax use max geyser! Right now right now! Leon: use gmax wildfire! Etce : Flanders avoided the attack! Leon: what have I done Charizard use Max guard! There we go now I'm protected! There is no way why do you have a water type move my Charizard is week to that move Aqua tail no this is not fair that I lost
I beat leon's stupid ass charizard with my jolly nature shiny swampert 😂😂😂😂 cause he did a grass type and my shiny swampert had like 95 hp left and beat him with a maxgeyser 😂😂😂😂💯👌
Etce: sets up hail Clefable with moonlight: Congratulations, you've played yourself. Etce: Sets up rain Intelleon: Congratulations, you've played yourself. Leon: Sets up grassy surge Charizard: Congratulations, you've played yourself. Why is weather so complicated?
@@terminalvelocityrunner2202 Well it's basically like asking someone with no Pokemon knowledge "Oh Charmander is my favorite Pokemon". Like yeah I don't understand it but I have 0 knowledge on the subject. Any reference (not even a joke to begin with tbh) will go over my head because I haven't played the game
I really like how you played Pepper Steak every time you battled Leon. It adds to the whole "cool, but terrifying" vibe Leon gives off at the Battle Tower. Plus, its refreshing to see Off getting some recognition haha.
Better than the regular trainer in let's go eevee that had a evenly leveled diglett landed all but 1 fissures and ate most of my team because it outsped.
But we can’t lie tho fighting Leon is really painful Especially in Doubles when he gigantamaxs charizard then uses max guard and your entire game plan falls apart
The Gifted And Untalented i don’t want to try doubles now. You’ve successfully turned me off Battle Tower Doubles. I already have an animosity toward Singles because of those obnoxious trainers with one-hit KO moves.
And this is why i don't compete with others lol i suck i just got in to actualy using status things a bit since swsh (I played gold, sun/moon and alpha sapphire without ever using status items or even moves that up stats... or never let them hold any items lol i only used health potions and such I never failed beating any game lol it's easy without that stuff But i must admit now i'm trying to mess with that stuff a bit more it becomes so much more fun i should have used those things before haha i'm not that great tho
@@devinwelch5 Aegislash wasn't that hard for me since my team outsped it easily and the other opponents, Rhyperior and Rillaboom for Sword and Seismitoad and Cinderace for Shield, weren't that hard because of other team members I had.
Leon ALWAYS brings his Charizard. It is the one constant of his Battle Tower team and he will always Gigantamax it. Although I think his Charizard's moveset changes up. Either way, he keeps it kitted out for type coverage so WATCH IT. I can't confirm, but I believe Leon's team is pretty well EV-trained, too.
All of his Pokemon have like 6 or so singles and doubles sets but most of them keep common things like that thing loves Solar Beam to always have a Grass move. Leon has random sets but you see patterns in coverage. I have bodied him enough to learn almost all his sets just because i spend hours BP grinding.
It's pretty good and has a few endings as well. The humour is a little OFF (Sorry I had to-) at times and is a bit specific but if you're looking for a fun RPG then it's certainly worth a try. If I remember correctly it's free as well.
Your commentary was funny and clever and your edits were well timed and hilarious, but 100 points to Gryffindor for using Pepper Steak as the battle music.
As much as i Love Leon he beat my ass on my first try facing him in battle tower (and then 5-8 more times after) Also I love how you added pepper steak as background music for him it fits! It reminds me of when I played OFF years ago
Children: Monsters are my biggest fear!! Adults: Darkness is my biggest fear! Etce and everyone else that battle Battle Tower Leon: Leon is my biggest fear.
@Thewolfthatlived Nope I legit did the same but for the sole intent of annihilating Leon's Charizard because it had(at the the time), cost Venusaur his gmax along with Blastoise.
It's funny how Leon is "the unbeatable champion of Galar", but the rest of the game's trainers are kinda pushovers, save a few. So what does that say about the skill/power of other competitors that they can't beat Leon. Plus he banks so hard on his Charizard, even though it crumbles under some floating pebbles. I hate Leon so damn much, and it was so satisfying just to make him shut up about being "unbeatable" and actively steering us away from the actual plot of the game.
I think it's about time they put somebody up on a pedestal. Usually the champions are like.. mysteeerious and got no build up until you actually get to them (minus GARY lol). To have this more celebrity approach was awesome, and sure he did the whole thing that all champions do where they help you throughout your journey, Leon's undefeated reputation AND the fact that you KNOW you have to break his winning streak in order to beat the game, puts the stakes a liiittle bit higher than say.. Cynthia. Who was hard in her own right but I was just.. beating her to beat her. With Leon, I had to break a man's spirit, just like I did his younger brother's.
I really like that Leon steers us away from all the evil shit going on. He's a responsible adult trying to keep kids away from the conflict. I've always hated Cynthia for standing there and doing nothing while we fight Cyrus and Giratina. And lorewise, it's stated that Raihan is skilled enough to become champion in another region. What that tells me is that in universe, Galar is probably the most competitive region
I'm so etce-ited to see you in Rank. It won't be easy but it's worth it for sure. I think you are a great etce-ample to show that Competetive Pokémon can be a lot of fun :D Some tipps: - if weather, terrain etc is out press Y and click any Pokémon to see when something runs out - press + to see what switch-ins your opponent could have - in Competetive there is a timer so think quick about your next action - grass type Pokémon are immune to powder attacks (like sleep powder) - dark type Pokémon are immune to status moves by prankster (ability) Pokémon - it's not possible to flinch Dynamaxmons Here we go^-^
My eye twitched at every pun. HUY WHY YOU DOING THIS TO ME. -Okay, that tip is actually freaking amazing, I didn't know it shows how long it's going to be out. -I didn't know about that either. Man, I really need to pay attention to the HUD. We didn't have that back in my day. -God, there's a timer? Oh no. -When did this happen?! That's amazing! -THAT'S.. WHAT? -Okay, I figured this out after my fake out didn't stop a raid pokemon on the first turn. Thanks a lot for your tips Huy, I learn something every video.
@@Etce- it's pretty nice considering there are like million things going on in a short time. Terrains, weather, status boost(like sword dance boosts), things like leech seed, traps - the timer is needed so staling isn't too bad. It also makes Championships easier too watch^^' - they are all Gen7/8 changes - prankster is an ability that's very often use in doubles. It makes all your status moves to priority which is especially nice for Pokémon like Cottonee to get out tail wind. In this Gen Speed changes instantly (that means your partner Pokémon instantly receives the tail wind boost). However Trick Room does have minus priority so that's like one of the rare status moves that don't get anything from it... ... .. . ... Ok that was maybe a bit much. Just remember you can't taunt/will-o-wisp a dark type Pokémon with a prankster Pokémon^^' - it's common to instantly Dynamax fearing the fake out so watch out
Galarian darmanitan works better with a choice scarf, you get extra power and extra speed this way. I think a life orb isn't the best option, if you want more firepower a choice band is better but choice scarf is the best option (since the ability locks you into the first move you select but so does the choice scarf, so you basically get extra speed for free) Edit: I saw what you did there. Good boy
@@Etce also, one last tip from your local self proclaimed competitive Pokémon Master is to replace superpower with earthquake, covers rock type and steel type like superpower but covers also fire type as well, so you are safe against most of his weaknesses without losing attack and defense. But if you want to deal with that charizard specifically, stone edge is a better option, but remember not the best overall
What Chu talkin’ about. He’s actually very easy when you remember his battle style and I used the same Pokémon and got through all the tiers and bet him with them.
Not if you used the team i used for RU-vid. What i recorded with for my post game claps Leon without fail most of the time if you play smart with them.
yo etce!! so originally i subscribed for the splatoon content however i kind of had the worst possible time and subscribed around the time you moved on from it. at first i was kinda salty coz i rlly loved your splatoon videos and kirby doesn't interest me. i refrained from watching your pokémon series because not only was i playing the game for myself at the time and didn't want spoilers, but i also thought it wouldn't be as good as your splatoon content. but wow, after watching some pokemon videos, i gotta say your really knocking it out of the park, good job man
@@Etce yeah i'm familiar with the situation. honestly though, no worries. i've come to realize that your style is so entertaining that it doesn't really matter what the subject matter is, keep doing what your doing :)
It may be one of the better items for Galarian Darmanitan, but doing that requires you to have speed control. If you don't have that, then the Choice Scarf is far and away the best item for Galarian Darmanitan. What's the point of the extra power if your opponent out speeds and takes it out?
Yes tbh, that is far harder with all the legendaries running around when you get past 50+ win streak. I wish they'd release a far more challenging post game content in the DLC
This is why I don’t do the battle tower anymore I’m maxed out on bout battle types despite Leon kicking my ass several times on the way up. IM NEVER GOING THROUGH THAT AGAIN
