Old lady: Oh no man. Leon: Ma’am. Just listen here quickly. If I now… Listen quickly. Old lady: Leon Schuster, I can just beat you! Leon: Hit me then. Give me a chance. Look in the camera. Here it is. Look there. Don’t worry, you can cry. Lots of people can see it. I will… What is your surname? Old lady: I am Mrs Mclout. But you mustn’t just hit him so hard like that (tears) Leon: We’re going to give you a nice meal…(or something to that effect)
I can't believe that in the past 11 years, no one gave you the correct answer. The language is Afrikaans, spoken in South Africa. It's derived from Dutch (from the first Dutch settlers who arrived in the Cape, South Africa in the mid-17th century). It was later influenced by French (when protestant French hugenuenots arrived in the Cape), English and some Malay (slaves from Malaysia). The old lady cried because, finding out that the whole thing was a prank, must have been quite cathartic. She was obviously very upset and worried by what she thought was elderly abuse and then she was told that it was only a prank. Leon Schuster has been entertaining the nation since the 80's with his pranks, fun songs and movies and is much loved.
what would they have done to the maid if this was 20 years ago? You can tell they're itching to do something but they're powerless, bleddie boers. Black empowerment ftw.
