I read about this concert in the biography of Leonard Cohen, and every time I think about it, it moves me deeply that a performer should use the spiritual powers, ancestrally vested in him, to bless his audience and the people who love his music. Several years ago, I was riding the subway in Brooklyn, NY, and saw the man sitting next to me with a book that looked interesting. I peered over to get a look at what he was reading, and realized that he was on his way to see Leonard Cohen at Radio City Music Hall, because he was using the concert ticket as a bookmark. (And the price was enough to make my eyes bug out of my head!) He must have caught me looking, because he quickly placed the ticket in his pocket, out of view. No, I was not going to take it! I just wish I'd seen Leonard on that last tour - everyone said his shows were breathtaking.
