I totally disagree with your theory about that scene in the wolf of Wall Street; watch that scene again and as the watch is flying through the air in slow motion you can clearly hear a ticking sound- making it obvious that it’s a quartz watch/ not supposed to be a Rolex. If they were just trying to trick the audience whilst still allowing him to wear a tag heuer, they wouldn’t have intentionally added that sound.
Most people don't care about watches, especially mechanical watches. In fact, most people associate watches with a tick sound. Remember Pink Floyd's Time. The tick sound is associated with watch/passage of time. So it makes sense to have that sound even if the watch is mechanical because of the inherent association of the sound with a watch.
You guys should bring both of your collections to one of these videos and make a tier list of each others watches or something. I'd be interested to see both of ur collections and what the other thinks of them.
I don't like Rolex. They are watches for Wall Street douchebags who drive Range Rovers. There is, however, a custom Rolex that makes me swoon, the Artisans de Genéve Honey Green Daytona.
These millenials googling movies from when they were 2 years old is nice but running into Leo multiple times in lower manhattan the dude actually has a septentieme reverso (huge respect even if it was gifted) and harry winston opus. We shouldn't consider movie props as "collection" but then again this is just another clickbait video mentioning the dudes name.
I love my striped polo's, people love to hate on them but when you see them in person the design make sense. You have to have a pure mind and soul to wear them. Nah not really, I just don't care I find diver watches ugly, I was never a trendy dandy.
Great content as always guys. But am curious why that picture was used for the Leo Tag in Wolf of Wall Street instead of the actual thing. I believe it was a TAG-Heuer 1000 that was in the film (unless I am brutally wrong) , and it seems the picture @ 7:29 is the earlier Heuer Monnin case- possibly a 980.022...
*I'm glad I came across this video, I ask politely ,does anyone know how I can go about growing $50k dollars I have? I am very open to all suggestions and recommendations. God bless*
I will suggest you get a RIA who would help build investment plans and channel your money on something Lucrative ,which in a short term , would bring in better returns. Its just a personal opinion tho.
@@marchettibianca1367 I was able to invest, and build a portfolio through the help I got from Rodney Hamilton Steve a *RIA* , who did not only advised me well , but also managed my portfolio to prevent any loss. I’m sure there are a lot of RIAs out there , but I'm glad I chose to work with *Rodney Hamilton Steve* . Today , I own a *Portfolio* worth *$500k* which is clear evidence of *Rodney Hamilton Steve* great work.
@@angelolucas70 That’s so awesome!! How can I connect with such an experience Investment adviser as I’m willing to work with him. I really hope you don’t mind and that it’s okay with you to share his information here with me?
When you find someone who is good and trustworthy you just have to hold them tight as good things are hard to find and come by. I don't think I would ever stop working with Rodney Hamilton Steve . He showed me how to earn more through portfolio income now I have a means of earning passively. Three years now with him and it feels like yesterday.
Great video. Great hair on both of you too. Celebrity brand deals and media product placement is complex. I got to witness several deals second-hand from a friend who was a global brand marketing lead for IWC back in 2005-2011 or so. I recall being at The Beverly Hills Hotel in late 2007 or early 2008 drinking Remy Louis XIII the eve before my friend was meeting with team producing “Wall Street 2 Money Never Sleeps” at Fox Plaza in Century City (aka Nakatomi Plaza to you Die Hard fans) - they get Shia LaBeouf and Michael Douglas to wear watches in the film, plus some other placements. He also did a number of deals with cast of “Grey’s Anatomy”. I recall that idea came from them learning actor Eric Dane was a real IWC fan and was excited to buy his first IWC - they ended up gifting him his first watch. Eric’s wife (Rebecca Gayheart) told me at a party that the first night he had that watch (which I think was a Pilots Double Chrono) he couldn’t sleep, he kept turning in his bedside light to look at it. Cool when the celebrity is really a fan of the brand before the deal….
I will say that Jay Z, Lebron, and Leo are all big collectors- it is very possible that they all were allocated Tiffany Nautiluses separate from their celebrity.
Another great vid 🙂 You two are so entertaining! Ps…your hair is notably becoming more and more similar. Michael, hats off (pun intended) to being able to nearly match the man who was blessed at birth with a perfect head of hair.
info from a friend of mine who actually has one of these, apparently pretty much NOBODY gets to buy the tiffany 5711. The whole thing was a marketing ploy, and pretty much all the watches are handed out to celebrities, athletes, and special people in the watch community.
Have to agree about the Tiffany Blue dial on the Patek (or any other watch). Just saying, this is due to personal taste so don't feel threatened if you like the color. I love blue dials, but there is just something about Tiffany Blue that I've never liked to see on anything. I'm wondering how some of these trendy colors will hold up over the years to come.
Interesting thoughts on the brand image of Breitling. The Chrono Avenger Titanium is a monster but wears surprising well. It's rugged and functional. Don't care about Blood Diamonds or DiCaprio, but the E13360 is a keeper. That said, the jury is still out on Breitling's current direction(s). A word about product placements. It's highly unlikely that DiCaprio's agreement with TAG requires that he wears the watch in his movies. More likely that TAG enter into separate agreements with the studio for the placement in the films. Think Keanu Reeves and Carl Bucherer and that annoying and disruptive product placement in John Wick 3. My understanding is the Tiffany Nautilus was distributed to Tiffany boutiques in New York, Beverly Hills and perhaps London(?). I could be wrong, but Tiffany was responsible for distributing almost all of the watches, not Patek. Regardless, it's an ugly watch and it's even more undesirable by the company it's keeping. One point about LeBron: the proportions on his wrist makes it look like a 34 mm watch on an average dude. Is this an argument in favor of the Explorer in 36 mm? Speaking of Tiffany watches, I do not share the preference for unpolished Oysterquartz watches. I've seen them returned from Rolex service and they return in stunning condition and quite beautiful. But everyone has their own tastes, and I get the whole originality thing. I just don't default to it and know other collectors who don't either.
Can you guys review the astronomia clock in Prague? Pretty please. It's off it's head with complications. If you don't know about it you should. Cheers legends.
Sometimes I wish Christian would also explain his thought process when selecting his wardrobe. The 13 original colonies? Like… why? Am I too ignorant to understand? LOL
Before I got into watches, when I had no idea about brands and what kind of watches they sell, I’ve heard a saying about someone looking at a gentleman and saying “ah, you’re a watch enthusiast, you wear a Breitling and you are looking for value for money”
F’ing nailed it with in the metal, an absolutely gorgeous watch. When it comes to spirit’s, I agree with Robert De Niro in Ronin, make me a grasshopper & I will tell you anything you want 2 know. Cheers!
Every time I have seen OysterQuartz mentioned, I think of the "rare bird" 1530-1630. A mechanical automatic with the OysterQuartz case/bracelet. Love your channel!
"Oh so this is how the watch left the Rolex factory in the 1970s" Literally the next sentence: "This dial was born blue and has turned purple because it's defective" Absolutely love this segment btw, big fan
To be fair in blood diamond either a g shock or a old submariner bearing in mind it was set before prices went crazy. I have seen pictures of Royal marine commandos wearing rolexes in iraq
If you don't want to spend as much for that oyster quartz, just get the tissot prx with the fluted gold bezel. Tried it on the other day and actually loved how it looked on the wrist
