I will summarize for you what happened to it in these 3 yrs: Ivan : Playerbase and CC are saying Leone is bad. WG : It's balanced. Just lock it in a vault and release it when people forget about it.
I kinda wish WG kept the old meme ballistics on this ship as its main downside (when the ship was first tested, those shells took nearly 17 seconds to travel at max range of 12.5 km). Then they could buff its reload to like 5 seconds and make an interesting low-tier rainbow maker. Something like a tier VI Akizuki. Not to mention, with AFT her travel time would be a beautiful meme.
This DD seems particularly uninspired. I was at least expecting a mini-Paulo for some reason. Fast ship, very fast short range torps and SAP. Just seems a generic platform with anemic damage output. This ship needs some tweaking to graduate it from qualification to capability.
Well, you can't really give her a speed she didn't have irl. All Italian Destroyers were actually quite slow, in fact, only their navigator class DDs ever made it past 38 knots. And with a 4 torpedo Salvo, you're not gonna have Paolo's alpha strike potential to Yolo anybody except slow cruisers.
@@Axel23410 Wargaming doesn't care about historical accuracy. They could have turned this into something better but chose not too. The torps could have had beefier dmg, a non-historical speed boost consumable to get it moving, a moving smoke screen, SAP rounds and a better reload etc. Anyone one of the above mentioned would have improved this rather plane and generic ship. No, with the amount of paper ships they could have done anything. I see your point though and thank you, i will look up the Navigator class. Its not a class I'm familiar with.
They can at least give her a two sets consumables choice, Italian smoke + high alpha torp + burst engine boost or normal smoke + super fast reload torp + normal engine boost but nope, just a boring one.
@@jacqueswan2867 Its just too generic for me. For an Italian DD i was expecting something more. 8 guns firing SAP and as you said, a crawling smoke screen would have made this dd uniquely Italian and competitive. My thoughts anyway
2019-2021 of a dev cycle for this ship. What was the point of making this ship? If WG made a survey for every ship they released, is there a option below extremely disappointing XD
By the way, this ship was in development for 2+ years, but I do not remember many changes along that time. So it was literally shelved and WG was like: Oh right, we were supposed to release that a while ago... Should we add some tweaks to it? Maybe change it to fit other Italian DD? N'aaah... Let's make it generic as hell... Surely, people want some bland spaghetti without any spice that Paolo has.

About darn time she came out but they had a chance to release her with the actual launch of Italy with the Italian Cruisers but nope, she's this and we're stuck in a pandemic
I'm so glad of some of the new commander skills features at least. It means I dont need a premium ship for every line now. I can just use my Duca and guilio caesar now.
We still don't have the second Italian flag/alternate camo. So, a collection where you can get those, as well as Leone as the final "reward" might be a possibility. For free she is fine, for any semblance of money... nope. Edit: Just noticed she has only two smoke charges as standard, makes it even worse.
I dunno but it would have been interesting to hear a comparison with other tier 6 DD's. As far as I know there are no "Halland's" at tier 6 that eat planes and all of them would hate ending up against a CV hunting them. 12km torps is not "ok", it's best in class by a mile. The smoke is also the longest spreading and longest lasting by a mile. Yes I understand the disappointment and it would have been a lot cooler to see her with crawling smoke and SAP etc but just objectively, is she very different or worse than other tier 6 DD's? To me it looks like she's better in some ways and worse in other. A meh-bote perhaps
Only redeeming feature is the high alpha, she literally is lacking in every department, 12km is great but slow af torps and only 4 of them, barely have any actual hitting power

@@sirtogii5216 she’s awesome, i have 60% wr with her. Try to play as an torpedo boat, her 68s torp reload is no joke. And her guns still do significant dmg to enemy dds if there is a brawl. If you played well t6 dds, you surely love her lol. I have played anshan before, so t-61 is a fully upgrade to me 🐧
Well... I'm Italian so I whaled it, just to fill the collection. Didn't expect too much from a T6, but I have to admit that in 4 battles I had a surprisingly 75% WR. Not a game changer surely, but it has good alpha dmg, long long smoke and very long range torps w. fast reload. Outstanding how many T6 BB's want to eat lonely torps wandering the map... :-)
WG: you all got the markrov now, we need an other POG so you can't get dubs from the containers, so let's put this into game since every one disliked it for two years.
Why cant i use my ship until its gotten out of a damn battle? Probably the most frustrating stupid mechanic built into this game (discounting dead eye)
May be they will offer it for coal? Hope so since I have so much I don't know what to do with it. As for WG, they got my last "real money" last year and no more. I think I'm done with the release of the italian BBs in such a pathetic state.
Me: Can outplay most if not all sub 50% players (in surface ships). Sub 50% CV players: CVs NEED BUFFS, JUST DODGE, ADAPT, REEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ruins entire match for me. WG: Everything is fine here. There's more people playing CV. Spreadsheet says so.
So, poor concealment, Italian sea mines for torpedoes that the cruisers get and only four of them, no AA, and slow reloading guns. Wow, this sounds great. Nice job WG. Yeah, I'll pass. As usual WG only puts out strong high tier ships.
Typical.. they could've realised it would never be good enough for it's tier and made it a T5... but I guess its a case of milking the most money. Same case as viribus unitis...
Well this is the cherry on top. Now we know that WG do not like Italians. Cruisers: Mediocre, BB : Poor. DD most likely a sh@t! Going to spend exactly ZERO euro this year for WoW.
I don't entirely care if the ship is good or not. My main concern is that there's not point to it. What does it add to the game. Look at Paolo Emilio. Look at Massachusetts. What does this thing do that other destroyers don't? Even if it was on par with other dd's, why spend money or resources in it when you could just grind tech tree ships. It's just boring.
3 years of delevopment and they still messed up the classification. That is not a DD as the Atlanta is no Cruiser, another one of those ships you can just right throw out of the window since CVs. Especially those torpedoes are walking on a crutch...
Why do you sound like Norden, even the laugh are similar. But the DD is so crap that it should have been in tier 4 or 5 not suitable for tier 6 . Low numbers of torps and smoke with long time reload on the main battery guns but at least you have 8 of them . Overall bad ship.
