Progress Singapore Party's NCMP, Leong Mun Wai, sought clarifications from People's Action Party MP, Murali Pillai, regarding his allegation that Mr Leong had advocated for "some form of low rent control" in his speech.
When confronted, Mr Murali denied making such an allegation and instead stated that Mr Leong "sought low rents on behalf of SMEs."
After a few exchanges, Mr Leong asked if the MP for Bukit Batok SMC would apologize to him if the records showed that he had not mentioned seeking low rent.
Mr Murali rejected the challenge, saying, "You know, whatever we say is recorded in Hansard, and we stand by what we said. Our conduct in all these matters flows from there. So I'm not going to make any commitment."

Leong Mun Wai seems to be getting more seasoned and eloquent in Parliament
@dashong8912
Murali caught by his own words.😆
@Adrian-rz4in
Clearly Murali said that Leong advocated some form of low rent control at the
@ismailbinabu1968
We will standby with Mr Leong. He is making a great impact to rattle this arrogant government.
@CSC-gu4us
murali was trying to stick out just to show off & win points but he ends up manifesting his stupidity by provoking unnecessarily & wasting time..
@RiseAgainst369
Singaporeans voted for Murali over Dr Chee Soon Juan. Speechless.
@davidong3776
Mr Leong has my utmost respect. A true Singaporean who speaks his mind, thought through, speaks plainly and without fear.
@chengsoonhwee959
Murali is a coward! Not a gentleman!
@ismailbinabu1968
Mr Leong is steadily exposing the pathetic standards in the PAP comrades. Very disappointed with PAP!
@AK8901
Why didn't the leader of the house stand up and ask Murali to retract his statement and apologise???
@chewaaron7682
End of video indeed showed that murai said mr leong advocated low rent control. He still trying snake his way to said the opposite. How pitiful to pap to hv such members
@perpetualquotes
Press on Mr Leong
@seais43hjdehseah93
Shame on you Murali. Everyone make mistakes just admit you make a mistakes rather trying to cover up your mistakes. Very shameful act
@patrickloo2659
So if this Murali is in the wrong, he will not apologise? It was very clear that he said Leong advocate low rent, which part of the sentence he himself cannot understand? Advocate is already so clear cut. The speaker of parliament better be fair and make him apologise to Leong.

I was there when Mr LMW gave out PSP manifesto leaflet during the last GE campaign. Everyone seems to evade him. I came, gladly took the leaflet, shook his hand and said good luck to him. I did that because I can see his conviction, alone without other members, campaigning.
@RichardSKLim
Mr. Leong has a very good point there. Singapore property prices and rentals are going crazy, and this will kill the incentive to invest in productive and creative ventures. We might as well all be property owners and traders.
@BomBomm12345
I rather vote for Leong Mun Wai to have the seat in Parliament to ask tough questions for us Singaporeans and Singapore than let some PAPies quietly sitting there nodding their heads or propose some rubbish suggestions such as introduce baby shark song into some initiative
@douglasang3527
Singapore needs Mr Leong 👍
@HarishPillay
Mun Wai never said that. Unfortunately, the PAP MP is trying to put words into Mun Wia's mouth and then tries to backpeddle when he was called out.
@kcl6641
Mr Leong did not suggest any forms of low rent control. Really deplorable and not retracting.
