I dont know if any balsa trees were harmed in the making of this video, but several were quite annoyed. Im not worried however since theres plenty of them around and they grow fast. Great work guys!

Fabulous planes! Just stunning how majestic they float. The gentleman with the dagger antenna could have easily put his transmitter down just before the landing, walk over and grab it out of the air :)

Red glider, that has been towed is tailheavy. Near ground it is seen as nose slightly goes up microstall accures and glider gain lots of drag. I suggest moving cg forward.

Could you suggest the centre of gravity as a percentage of the chord please? I have a 3 m wingspan model powered by a pylon-mounted motor in Sydney Australia.

The John Woodfield-style mods make it look much nicer (reduced or no pylons, bigger vertical surfaces, straight dihedral). Ailerons with less dihedral an interesting addition, too. On a windy day, a Hi-Start is great, doesn't have to be very strong. Are people really scared of scratch-building? Given the fantastic plans you can download for free from Outerzone and AeroFred, it's so simple. Scratch building allows you to incorporate your own mods before you buy the lumber and other things. Modern gear and modern structural practices and materials allow lighter and stronger construction, especially since early gliders were designed for much lighter stresses during launch. Making your own kit before putting it together is much less daunting than it seems provided you have the necessary simple tools ... carbon paper is one really useful item, no doubt hard to find any more, but a laser printer will do. The full size plan is best ordered, or printed at your local print shop with a wide-format printer. In the end, you will probably trace the plan on greaseproof paper from a roll, something I need to do when my cork on glass building board is only 1.0 x 0.5 metres.

2:41 never ever trow a glider nose up... if it stalls at 2m , it will smack into the ground

Obviously a floater with very limited penetration. That undercambered airfoil is antiquated for our needs and has got to go.

That is too big to be a Leprechaun!
