Michael Crawford brought so much joy to our lives throughout his Comedy and Singing Career. May our Heavenly Father and his Beloved Son Jesus Christ hold you Michael close to their Sacred Hearts throughout the rest of your earthly life!
I saw the original cast on Broadway and I was completely blown away by Michael Crawford. I also saw the touring show in Los Angeles, minus Sarah Brightman, but again Michael Crawford is a rare talent.
The 1st time I saw Michael as the Phantom was the Tony Awards. OMG!!!! His movements were so sultry & sexual as he slinked his way towards Christine, my mouth dropped & I leaned forward, fascinated as I heard him sing his careful subduction of Christen. I was hooked!!! *SIGH*!!! HEAVEN!!!😇
I feel so much love for this magnificent artist MICHAEL CRAWFORD. What an amazing person. I am so sad I never got to see him live. But this video is so entertaining. He's a one off, brilliant performer and may he live long and prosper. God bless you Mr. Crawford.
Funny how many people link the same together. Love the bumbling Frank..love Michaels voice as Phantom and to this old man who grew up with his mother in the theatre i am glad i have been here to hear him sing..no-one else is really the Phantom.
6:15 And 7:08 when Michael joins in again and hits those rather high notes perfectly and with so much emotion. Incredible singer , actor and apparently comedian as well
i first saw michael crawford in the movie, "hello dolly". i did like him then but not as much as i do now. i was awfully impressed with his singing, what a beautiful and majestic voice, very, very fluid as he sang those high notes effortless. truly a pride of england and i wondered if ever he was knighted just like cliff richard et al. i believed he is more than deserving.
MC is of course great in any role .... BUT when his phantom voice came out of a speaker behind my left ear at Her Majesty's Theatre .... WOW .... such a booming voice .... was outstanding.
I was in the movie "Hello Dolly" as an extra performing in the parade scene, filmed the summer of 1968, and between our takes we could also go watch other takes happening, so I got to go watch Michael Crawford, Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau doing some of their scenes as well. It was Michael Crawford's first movie, and he was a skinny, gawky kid with a very high- pitched voice, before he became the hunk in Phantom of the Opera with the fabulous voice!! When I saw him then, I NEVER would have guessed that he would grow up to be so handsome, and with that voice!! It's worth it to see Hello Dolly just to see Michael when he was young, and of course Barbra was GREAT as always. Still love Michael so much, and now I'm 70!!

@@debbieanne7962 I was lucky enough to see both plays with original casts with my girlfriend whom I later married. She likes theater and so did I. Guys--take note--best way to impress a girl.

I am 77 years old, never heard these two lovely persons singing before, although I have heard about Michael Crowford before. Let me say, it reminds me of my hisband who went to be with the Lord on the morning of our 47th anniversary last year. All he was ever concerned with was i always being thete with him. Beautiful song.
Wow! I was fortunate enough to see Michael in NYC as the Phantom, and the song “ All I ask of you” is my wedding song. This was a real treat to hear Michael sing Raul’s lead, and of course, he was brilliant!
Since the first time I saw him on Broadway, a week after Phantom of the Opera opened, I have been crazy about this man!!! I was devastated to learn that on one trip to see the play again, he had left the show the week before. I have seen the play many times since, but no other man was THE Phantom.
Michael worked tirelessly to improve his singing voice, he always had a nice voice but to sing Phantom required the strength of an Opera Singer. And yes he did an amazing job of it.
Patrick Fields The line in the show is “brava” because he’s saying it to Christine. “Brava” is used for girls, while “bravo” is used for guys. I’m taking Italian right now, that’s how I know this.
Love love love Michael Crawford and saw him opening night of the Phantom in London with Sarah Brightman - magic. He is so brilliant and talented, funny and more.....

An Amazing talent. He will master anything he takes on. Nobody could do Frank Spencer better then him. He developed his singing over the years and nailed it. Compare his role in Hello Dolly to that of the Phantom. He developed a physique required to sing, he became fearless with Barnum. His dedication to his art makes him unique. There is nothing this Man cannot do.
I’d like to dedicate this song to my late fiance (although it’s not official I still took him as the one). In my eyes, he has acquired all the charisma of both Phantom and Raoul and what we’ve been through is quite like what it’s said in the lyrics. Not to mention this version is hilarious indeed and I can’t help laughing every time I watch the made-up story (that reminds me of him as he's very humurous too)…the piano part is also the finishing touch to the comedy. Thank you for uploading this and he’s always on my mind. I’ve only realized all the little things he has done for me over the years after he passed away…and I hope we can say “we’ll share with each other one love, infinite lifetimes”.
This is the only rendition I have heard of "All I Ask of You" that faithfully captures the genius of the late Steve Barton and the proper emotional sense of the song. It's meant to be soothing, calming, reassuring - Raoul is thinking only about Christine. So many other actors I have heard performing this song sang it with self-centered bravado - like they're some kind of hero white knight dashing in to save the damsel in distress - as if to say "look at me - look at how great I am."
This man has talent beyond belief. He can make you laugh and make you cry with his god given voice. A warm and kind man who made the phantom his own. Its incredible he played the bumbling Frank Spencer with all the stunts he did himself. He was also in musicals before that. A life well lived Thank you sir.
This song and man have not lost anything over the years. I love you, Michael. Who would ever have thought you would go on to do a role like the Phantom 😊
