Wonderfull Merveille...*********, Rare to See and Listen this exceptional group of Jazz Gypsy's Music...********,,playing this Great song "thé dark êyes"....***** Thanks so much Angelo Debare and Bireli Lagrene
This is a GREAT INTERPRETATION of a song called "Ochi chernyie" or Очи чёрные (Oči čarnije / Dark Eyes). It's an old Russian song, which was written by a poet from Ukraine. There are lots of interpretations online, some of them are as great as this one (:
just unbelieveable that one guy can play like this let alone the five players on stage, and cheers to the bassplayer, might be the best music video on you tube in my humble opinion thanks for the posting
Haha i love the way, the guy who is soloing before birreli lagrene looks at him beacause he rushed him. Im sure inside he is saying: wtf man who do u think u are "django" relax m.f we are all gypsies we know what we r doing haha eyes language babe!!!😂😂
who is-it? 0606?...Do not kidd your self ....sure i love this gypsy adorable "cacophony" this acrobatic verve, long journey into the st mary de la mer or St tropez.... anyway you see-it ONLY ONE MAN PLYED-IT WITH TRUE JAZZ INSPIRATION:DJANGO REINHARDT THE KING AND LAST ONE AT THAT!
I'm trying to find a cd of this...thus far unsuccessful. These bastards are some the finest guitarists I've ever seen in my life. Eight minutes of utter hypnosis. I would love to hear these guys shred on an electric guitar.
What do you call an electric guitar ? If it's a thing like a stratocaster or similar, I think that they will destroy such a guitar and if you think a rock style music, they are of an other planet that this from Hendrix. But surely when they are out of stage for fun.
6.29 = bireli lagrene turns and looks at dorado schmitt what do you think bireli was thinking mmmm like a baby with a broken biscuit even angelo debarre had a tough time with his solo toot sweet
Around 16 years of age he listened a lot to Georges Benson, Jimmy Hendrix, Frank Sinatra, American jazz and he absorbs everything at a phenomenal speed. What is more, he works the violin, the bass... Soon he escapes to the US and he plays everywhere with Jaco Pastorius, the most famous virtuoso bassist of the time. Biréli is now 24. He has assimilated all the American music and jazz. He can play with the best.
To get some idea of how unbelievable Django was. These jawdroppin guitarists put a lot of time and effort into perfecting this. Django played it off the top of his head without rehearsing
I grew up so close from "Le Cirque d'hiver" of the Bouglione family and worked as a young man around lion's cage and met lots of Gitans!every year i went to St Marie de la mer in Camargue for the Gypsy festival.Oh Milka if you can imagine! So much Jazz (manouche) and pure Jazz ....it will make the american Jazz lovers crazy! To day The Jazz Manouche still carry the torch of wonderful music and HUMAN DIGNITY!
I saw that Guy in Montreal at Jazz Festival many years a go with John MacLaughlin & Al Di Meola at the Spectrum and during his solo he untuned this guitar to a different tune kept soloing and tuned it back to the riff of Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Chile, it blew my brains out still to this day. And now i listen to this and feel like an idiot that knows shit about notes and chords. I have to see him play live at least one more time before i die. Hats off !!!! Love from Montreal, Canada
I love how in the end Birelli was able to synthesise literarily every other solo that came before him. He took what everyone else gave and expanded it even further. Magic
I'm 55 years old and was going to learn the guitar ....but what's the point now ! .............That's my retirement plan ruined! At one point, even the camera couldn't keep up - it was just a blur, and I was watching it in HQ mode! Thanks chaps, I might as well put the gun to my head now...........
Milka, every July 14th is La fete de la Bastille(Bastille day) celebrating the end of "despotism"..... when the "people" of Paris stormed the famous prison at La place de la Bastille (where i grew-up)) and where Jacques Prevert use to go drink his cafe & Calva!OH Milka you are touching me so much because i grew with Manouches and use to date a real Gypsy girl!
MILKA LA GITANE..... MY BROTHERS TOOK ME TO 14 TH OF JULY(14 JUILLET) FETE DE LA BASTILLE AND THERE WAS DJANGO PLAYING WITH HIS BROTHER JOSEPH REINHARDT ! THERE MAY BE A CHRIST BUT ONLY ONE GOD (OF MUSIC): DJANGO! THERE MAY BE SOME DISCIPLES BUT DJANGO......NOTHING BUT THE BEST AND "DJAZZISTICAL" ENORMOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oui Roulotte ou Campigne, where every thing as a place, feux de poêle avec une gypsy soup {zoumine}didn't have a lot,but so happy.Soundra My mom was a fortune teller, very popular in Paris & Rouen was in a book & newspaper & 2 C me as a child gitane n a blog by a famous French writer who wrote an article a/b my god mom Jeannette McDonald (not the actress )but the dompteuse, was the fist woman to enter a cage of 10 lions, and he talk a/b Soundra, will send you the google inf on next page.oui ?
Later on he revealed himself capable of understanding a music piece in less time than is required to write it.. and he played and plays today with anybody without difficulty. Obviously he never studied music, that is to say in the way it is taught in the "Conservatoire", he does not read partitions for example... he plays everything by ear.
+valentuss I would argue with that ;) But you are mostly right,at least in the jazz style they are unbeatable. The Rosenberg family + Bireli, what can go wrong :D
+Luka Akul Dearest Friend! Let`s Let's just enjoy this vibrant, wonderful musicians! When I wrote here that are the best, I do not conclude that most awesome of the Earth ... There are probably better somewhere... but THESE are warm in my heart ..
Its called Roulotte in French.... oh! yes you grew-up with something fantastic the Manouche music...If only Hitler listen that music when he grew-up he would not had killed so many gypsies! Jelem, jelem! be well Milka and listen to my gift on my FB!
Context, my friend, is all. He's playing a borrowed guitar because he bust his top E on the previous song, 'There will never be another you'. But yeah, you'd think he'd have had a plan B ...
Born in France as Gypsy/Manouch race,i was raise with this kind of music, Django and have photo with his son babik, yes I love this music too Greeting from Vegas
He has, for about the last 2 years, started a group which plays the themes of Django. In the group there are gypsies but also the son of... Jacques Dutronc. How long will Biréli stay in this line? Probably not too long, the danger for him being to be completely absorbed, body and soul, and thus to be in a squelched in a certain sense, by the spirit of "show business"...
