My guest today is the author, journalist, and veteran women's rights campaigner Julie Bindel. We spoke about the feminist sex wars of the 1980s, the clashes between gay men and lesbians over the years, and the ongoing class conflicts within feminism.
In the extended part of the episode, we spoke about the child prostitution gangs in cities like Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, and Oxford, and why so many people are reluctant to acknowledge that these crimes happened.

I know we are not supposed to exist but I am a conservative college professor who struggles with the crazy that has beset college campuses and is encouraged by so many faculty. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate hearing from people who are reasonable, reasoned and sane. Very much enjoyed this talk and I learned a thing or two - thanks!!

As a straight white man who's beleaguered with the excesses of feminist identity politics, I have so much respect for EVERYTHING which was said in this talk. This is the REAL feminism my mother and aunts raised me on. Can we please get back to THIS!

This is the ONLY feminism there is. The rest is a Trojan horse that infiltrated the movement not too long ago. But somo of us still resist and know what this is all about.

Not unless your mother and aunts hated you. Unless she's had a drastic change of heart, Bindel here is well-known for her rampant hatred of men - she even wrote an entire article about how men should be put into camps and checked out like books from a library. Maybe she's changed her tune, of course. But it's not the kind of thing people should forget. And it's really the same kind of language that the woke are employing now, she's just being eaten by the same hatred she's fostered.

I find this interesting because I want to see the outcasts and misfits respected. I always made fun of people who live in gated communities and have armed guards, telling the plebs that they are racists and xenophobes for any of their rejection. I always loved how the the president of Italy told Hollywood celebrities that of they want migrants so much, they can go fly them on their planes and keep them in their own homes.

The "funny" thing about the emergence of identified politics is that it only led to division- however I don't imagine that a disability rights campaign would be expected to care about the other oppression (and quite rightly so) - women should not be expected to water down their concerns as a united class by other intersectional oppression groups

Julie mentioned on Triggernometry the thing we're not talking about is coercion. Has she spoken more about this or has anyone. It struck me to my core, I wasn't expecting her to name my generation, I thought I was alone. I would really like someone to explore the topic of coercion that has been a shocking experience especially how and why it's affected more so millennial women.
@robertmarshall2502

Maybe this isn't what you are referring to but if you look up Ute Heggen then you'll find the stories of lots of married women coerced into sexual acts they weren't comfortable with. Otherwise I don't feel that it's been explored enough particularly in the lesbian community

I wonder if Julie subscribes to view that there are no solutions only trade-offs. Quite ironic that some things she has problems with are downstream of feminism breaking down certain societal standards. Seems like a classic case of chesterton's fence. Also curious to hear her solutions for male violence, what exactly would she like to do about it? The vast majority of male violence is directed towards other males btw.

My wife sent me here to listen to the podcast after our daughter came out as non-binary. I had no idea about these things and it's absolutely shocking. We are so desperate because she's in distress. It's agony to watch your child suffer and we don't know what to do to help her. She's so angry at us all the time and we feel helpless. Our hope is that, in time, she will come to embrace her womanhood in whatever form that takes.

You all need family therapy that practices a method of bringing the child back under the leadership of the parents. Stay away from liberation types of therapy that will lead her to believe whatever she feels is the right answer no matter what. It is tough to be honest with yourselves but you and your wife's expression of sexuality in the home has been a deciding factor to her. Do you have more children? Is your wife happily feminine and not constantly critical of her appearance/weight using excessive makeup, dressing appropriately? Do you take care to be masculine and not sloppy? This is not blaming but a perspective on what's going on. It does start with the parents and children interpret these things very early.

I can see myself in your daughter many years ago. I was very angry about my parents too. The child within us wants to belive that parents are half-gods who knows everything. Discovering that is not the case, is a harsh discovery that was very hard to accept. It took me years. Teenagers do not need perfect parents who say the right things, have the right knowledge or the right attitudes. My parents did all the mistakes humans can do. BUT THEY NEVER GAVE ME UP. THEY CONTINUED TO BE MY PARENTS AND THEY CONTINUED TO LOVE ME, TEACH ME HEALTHY VALUES FOR LIFE AND THEY WERE THERE FOR ME NO MATTER HOW HORRIBLE MY ATTIDUDES WAS IN ALL MY CONFUSION. For that I have thanked them later in life. They were there for me. They continue to do their paret job. They never gave me up. This became what made all the differences for me. I matured as a healthy leasbian, was always lived by my parents and I met a down to earth and lojal woman my parents embraced. The healty values sank in to my heart even if it did not show at the time. Today I am 60 years old, living a happy life with the girlfriend my family embraced and I am close to my family. My advice to you is: be har parents and never give her up. Do not become experts on the issue. Just love her and let her know she can always count on you. She needs time to grow up. Your stability is showing her the right way to go. Bless you for already expressing your strong love for her in your words. ❤❤

[Comment for different vid, in this less crowded comment section] Ironically, mai dawg JRE muscle-fat-Buddha, in a convo also with FF and KK today, does a better job off the cuff, infused with lolz, of incorporating mortality salience by any other name into the discussion of social decay, a component of which is birthrate collapse, than Louise does in the entire Triggernometry interview today. Louise has been my best and brightest graduate student, ever since she began here, at Hogwarts School of Anti-Wokecraft and Wizardry. However, I have given her this same homework assignment on "mortality salience" multiple times, and it's always excuses excuses: "I'm preggers again (congratulations) so I can't do my homework," or, "my Christian cult is meeting at our rural commune this week, so I can't do my homework". I hate to do this with my best student, but I might have to consider other candidates for this Roads S'collar-ship.

Why do you put two spaces after commas? I've noticed you do this in all your comments. Putting two spaces after periods is very uncommon nowadays, but I've never come across anyone who puts two after every single comma.

@@gsdavis91 Hah that's so hilarious to me, I used to be OCD abt grammar and some linguistics when I was younger, I went from studying lots of English composition, to some linguistics and philosophy when I first started college. Yes, I think it might have been an option for MLA format, to put double spaces after periods, and fell out of favor. These are obviously just YT comments, but I tend to still adhere pretty closely to grammatical rules, out of habit. Except, you're right, I have found myself deviating stylistically from the standard. I tend to put, extra commas, to help space-out, my thoughts, and, extra space after commas so I can quickly skim over separate parts of ideas when I quickly look back at a wall-of-text comment. I can't even explain why it is, that I'm so amused by someone asking me this, I'm weird.
