Hi! I just wanna weigh in here about the whole intersex and hormones thing bc I am a women who was assigned female at birth but I produce a lot of testosterone and have to take hormones just to be normal and that doesn’t make me any less of a woman or any less valid. I have all female body parts and was assigned female at birth but my hormones are just out of wack. I'm a 49yoa lesbian in a 23 year relationship. I was recently asked to be part of an an advisory board to help Trans/lesbian/non-binary of color. After several months, I was asked to remove myself because I'm white. Despite that, I was contributing ideas and had great connections in the Queer Community and even the Program Director thought my removal was ridiculous.

For some people, it's not a preference but a requirement and I think it's weird that both "I prefer x genitalia but I'm open to those that don't have my preferred genitalia" and "I am only interested in people with x genitalia" are considered genital preferences. In my opinion, the former is a preference while the latter isn't but the way we've chosen to call both a preference is very unintuitive to me.

As a younger bisexual this is very informative and also just very interesting. So I finally found the time to watch this. In our country the law for LGBTQ community is in many ways behind. So the part where they spoke about beeing example and trying to help other countries was probably the most important for me. I do understand that some people are just happy with what they have, but I feel like if I had everything, I would be more motivated to help others... I do agree with both sides at certain things tho. I really loved your reaction and just being active by double-checking the facts and making sure you understand what they are saying but also voicing out your interpretations and opinions as well:) I am gay (formerly bi then queer), and I did go through a genderfluid phase where I did experience, to some extent, gender dysphoria, but not so much that I wanted to transition, so I considered myself to be a “demiboy.” It’s an umbrella term that still falls under the “trans” category, but I would never actually consider transitioning. I can still be feminine while sticking to my assigned gender at the same time. I cross-dressed, I did things that were somewhat feminine, but I was, still, and always have been a male. So I have been kinda almost all over the place. I feel like with these conversations, as important and insightful as they can be, I just think we sometimes have the tendency to get lost into the small insignificant and irrelevant points that we somehow overcomplicate these matters, when REALLY we should try to stick together and find solvable resolutions that will help the LGBTQIA+ community progress forward without losing grip with the rest of the world. It’s why we even have these discussions because it’s these discussions that are instigated through the real world events but help us establish a blueprint for us to work through the hurdles towards a more progressive community. That’s the point of all this! In terms of my political leaning, I have been brought up with conservative values within my family tree and upbringing for a majority of my life. Several years ago, when I was voting, first time at age 18, I voted for conservatives just because my parents’ conservative values and beliefs kinda stuck with me, but I was also kinda bombarded about what the leftists have been saying too. I didn’t really have a firm and profound comprehension of the political frameworks and dynamics, so I believe I was kinda blindsided and swept in to a side without really knowing what I was getting into or supporting for. At the time, I was bisexual (50/50 i guess with the sex attraction) but I wasnt really questioning my sexuality all too much because it was not really within my sphere of contemplation just yet (although looking back, I wish it could have been a lot easier for me). However, ever since my “coming out,” I have departed the right side and am now kinda stagnant somewhere in the middle. Why? Well because for now I am just not a very politically motivated person, but I do still carry some liberal and conservative values each to some extent, and so I cant quite evaluate my political standing. So I guess I may be a moderate just now. Right now, in Canada, where I live, we will have the federal election coming in months time and I think by then, I will likely consider voting for liberals, just because I have been agreeing more with the fact that society and this world still needs to embrace progression towards a more safe and inclusive society. And with North America getting eyeballs from other nations and seeing what we are doing, I think that we should also try to have better socially-derived political leanings that would better paint greater examples of societal norms deemed to pave inclusivity, anti-discriminative customs and practices, equality, you name it, down the road. It will take time for everyone to get on board with that, but I can sense progression being on the running still, just maybe not enough. And I get everyone has their views and moral values, but I just think we still need to work more on reshaping societies that would be more conducive to augmenting provisions and security for LGBTQIA+ individuals who are trying to aim for a quality life just like we would ALL WANT.

Okay so I am not on either side. As a woman in the LGBTQIA+ community I am in the middle of conservative and liberal. There are things I agree with in conservative community, and things I agree with in liberal community, same with disagreeing. I am in the middle and nobody knows what do do with that. It's either you're left or you're right in this world and I think people with middle of left and right voices don't get to be heard a lot because of being afraid of offending people or they/we know that we would just be labeled as a box of left or right. I have acceptance peace and love for everyone's opinions but these are mine.

guys i have genuine questions but dont want to be rude... why do i often see trans and cis people thinking that gender is the way you dress? what even is gender then? why do trans people give in to the stereotypes just to be percieved a certain way? like where is the line between being, like, a tomboy for example, and being a trans man? is it all about physical dysphoria? so what does gender even have to do with transness then if its about sex dysphoria? im so sorry if these questions sounded inappropriate, ive just been wondering for soo long and i sincerely think that the answers to these questions would help me understand the whole idea of gender and be more educated and supportive

I personally disagree with the idea that conservatism is just the first thing you were taught. I grew up in a household where politics were not discussed, and both my parents were in the middle, and only taught my siblings and I to be kind to others and to do our best and be open to trying new things. In middle and high school I have very liberal beliefs and ideas. I would argue that I became more educated, and learned how the real world works and now have more conservative beliefs. I watched this episode before and I think it’s super interesting to hear both sides because I do agree with some parts of each side

I used to be very liberal but became more conservative over the years. I used to be democrat most of my life, I switched to republican but now I realize they are the left and right wing of the same bird and just create division.

White queer people tend to have a level of invisibility they can exhibit to choose not to face discrimination, but as a Black queer person, people pay more attention to me and put many many more tropes onto me because they are simply watching me extra closely. Black women being seen as being more masculine by society no matter how they may act, so dressing more masculine presenting and facing no consequences is privilege. You’re immune to those consequences in whatever environment you’re in. Laws attacking trans youth do not affect you as an adult, so that immunity is also privilege.

I have to say how much I enjoy your content before I say this. I am a reformed social liberal fiscal republican. I went the other way, after becoming a mom, running a business and 20 years of learning about politics and just more experience with the world I am 200% conservative. My aunt (who you remind me of, maybe that’s why I like you, lol) and my best friend (also a POC, as you leftists call them) of 30 yrs are both gay and both extremely conservative. I feel like you are such a smart person and hope you take the time to see that most of us love everyone we just don’t like liberal policies. Most of us are more moderate and just think the left has moved too far to the crazy side. It’s not conducive to truth and logic in most cases. I think we will see a shift over the next 10 years with some of the insanity, at least I hope so.
