In this episode, we take our PRS SE DGT to Barber Electronics to swap out the stock pickups for new Porter Pickups. David Barber was kind enough to help us out and walk us through the process in detail. In this video, we invite you into the room with us as David swaps out the pickups. There is no exciting video editing going on here, but rather, a chance to be in the room and listen to David’s expertise as he moves through the process. DGT stock pickups sound much more better. You have transformed the original "rock soul" of the guitar in a Harley-Benton Telecaster sound

We put a Porter P90 in our Harley Benton. That pickup smoked the original. It would be harder to smoke the PRS pickups, especially the bridge, because they were great to begin with. My ears just don't hear what yours are hearing though. We both like the Porter in the neck position more than the original and think the Porter bridge pairs nicely with it. The differences were more apparent to me when playing it in a live situation. On the recording, not so much.

was hard to tell a big difference on this one. I know most of the SE guitars pickups are a little dark for me but appreciate the info.

When I was editing the video I kind of felt the same way. It was hard to hear a big difference between the two. After playing it a few times but live an in our studio, I know I like the neck pickup much more than the original. The jury is out on the bridge. They are both really good. We knew we liked the bridge pickup on this one going it so the new one had some big shoes to fill. I think the pair from Porter works really well together though.
