Love it looking to do cqmf definitely want the mag setup for b.k and shaped but the pimped vks are on down road for me I just gotta pickup high output tank and Charles has great tutorials on these but magazines are definitely night and day as well as most every category but cqmf is solid for price point
hey D.K. in your opinion what is the minimum number of Joules/FPE that a less lethal weapon should have in order to truly be effective for home defense? Some people say anything below 40 joules is useless, is that true? or could 30 joules be enough?
@@Rooseveltdunn 30 if you have multiple shots, 40 for personal, like an FSC that only has 6 shots, and I like around 50 for home since size don't matter and may be bigger chance for multiple threats
Having used the PepperBall VKS, I can say with absolute certainty that its o rings are the major weakness in the design. It's got 4 large o rings on the outside, 2 on the asa and 2 on the air chamber. Any of those o rings could be damaged and need to be replaced. And then I have 2 instances where the heat core o rings (milsig) blew out after just one shot and the air just bleeds out like Mr. Spencer said. Overall, I don't trust the VKS anymore for home defense as I used to. Just cannot know for sure when it will leak air as soon as you fire off the first shot.
You're doing something wrong bro, plain and simple probably shooting ammo that's too big for the barrel if you're blowing that many o-rings. The weak point in the VKS is the pin. O rings are not a problem If you're doing it right unless you just got a bad VKS that's tearing them up somehow. I've modified dozens of them and that is never a problem unless you're trying to push way way too much power or you're shooting ammo that's too big for the barrel.
@@DKSpencerCustomKinetics Funny you mention the pin. The original firing pin on my VKS never broke. It would become loose but it never broke. The problem I have is that the VKS would not hold air after I gassed it up. So while others have a pin problem, mine is how to get the VKS to hold air without letting it all out. Also the ammo I shoot with are JUL V2 rounds. So it can't be an ammo problem. Y'all are shooting much heavier ammo than what I shoot in my VKS. You also mentioned power and I believe that could be the culprit. I'm using SSD's asa power mod which claims to add 20 extra joules. So that may be the problem.

@DKSpencerCustomKinetics cmon in the heat of the moment nobody is looking at the details with .68 balls coming at there face idk if u ever been in a paintball fight with no mask duuude nobody has yet showed me pulling out there sidearm while taking paint yo the face on full auto it's all u need man good paint or get the empty shells and fill them with some nasty stuff the possibility is endless 💯💪🏼 less lethal for the win I don't wanna take no lives man
