I don't know how I keep getting here so early. Great video as always guys! Milsim West is definitely a few years away for me, but I learned some new stuff from your talk.
Something I love doing: Going to the town where the event is, and sleeping there the day before, and then staying 1 day after the event to recoup before traveling. Getting good rest, and good food prior-to, and after the event is critical to my morale.
I was on the NATO team in 2018 and really enjoyed it! I like your content in this video as many people attending Milsim West including myself don't really know what to expect. Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone.
This video came at the perfect time, I am going to my first MSW event in March. One question I have though; what did you guys do in the way of spare guns?
TJV Airsoft I personally did not bring a back up. Just make damn sure whatever you're bringing is in working order. Have a good pistol in case it comes down to it.
Cory Gun Gamers Thanks for the quick response man! I think I will just have a pistol in case, I definitely don’t expect anything going wrong in terms of my primary. 👍
Hi guys, I consider myself an experienced airsofter, that said, you give good tips that i sometimes learn from too, keep it up! I love the fact that you bring your tips and tricks so relaxed. showing the audience you have a drink during filming brings it home for me. Cheers and whenever I visit the states i'll look out for you on the field, might crack a shot your way.
Soooo this might be an odd question, but do I need to be physically fit (like working out a lot) to reduce possible fatigue during the event? I've heard that this doesn't matter much, but just curious if this is in any way a big deal to enjoy the event. Because I get tired pretty quick because I'm out of shape. Great video as always guys! Always helpful and informative, keep 'em coming!
If you can't sprint 100m in full gear, scale a wall and still shoot without feeling like you're going to throw up, yes for the love of god at least ensure your overall stamina/endurance is good as that is what really matters at a MSW event. You'll be awake for a long time, doing a lot of running, a lot of sitting, getting rained on, staying on your feet and getting into big firefights where the pacing will change in an instant.
Yes, conditioning and endurance are two big things I’ll definitely need to work on. I’m just used to weight training lol. Alrighty! Thanks guys! I’ll definitely take in this advice.
Any thoughts on loadouts for milsim? Everybody in airsoft seems to wear plate carriers, the problem is those are designed for mounted/urban ops. Belt platforms and rucksacks like the British paras use are better in any light infantry/milsim in the field -less sweating, easier to get on, better weight carrying
Hello, i was planning on going to milsim west in early March for the last stand at Rostov event. This being my first milsim experience and will be going as nato (still have not bought ticket) but am very nervous about going and looking at the price of stuff I would need and don’t know if I can do it. Any tips and tricks would be very appreciated thank you
If you can't afford what you need to function with Nato even when buying stuff like LBX and some surplus stuff then simply don't go as Nato for your first time. Rather just go as militia, it's a hell of a lot cheaper, easier to get into as you don't have to worry about as much (Which can also be a downside) but simply, if you then have fun after that save up for some Nato gear when you know what to expect, have some experience under your belt and you'll be assured to have a lot more fun.
Lady Potatas thank you for the suggestion I have some love stuff it’s mainly the camping related items such as good sleeping bag, stove or mre, and getting a pack that fit all of that was thinking of getting a pack like the 5.11 rush 72 pack
@@corpsewaif I have had 0 problems with my LBX uniforms and I have pounded them hard for 2 years now. Surplus stuff is fine. When talking milsim west yeah you need good gear but it isnt so much about the gear its more of your endurance.
Thermos, coffee. And a flask filled with Rockstar or Monster is such a great idea. Beef jerky and like dehydrated fruits and such, awesome foods. also things like canned greens beans and such you don't need to cook, just pop open and eat.... good stuff!
I know this comment is old (hello from the future!) but I wear Revision Desert Locust goggles with their Rx inserts. Excellent set up. If I'm doing a local skirmish or indoor/CQB games (which I really don't do much anymore, since I'm hooked on larger events) I usually just do a full face mask and wear my regular glasses underneath that.
It's good you enjoyed the ammo shortage, But to me that sounds really frustrating when you're putting hundreds of dollars into an event with such strict entry requirements and they haven't managed to supply the most basic provision for the game
You guys should head to the next ams copperhead, I'm going with my group this gear and from the little I've heard it's supposed to be a blast, yay flying cross cou try for it tho
Milsim West isn't really a possibility for me right now, but as soon as I can do it, I'm probably going to instantly go Militia, since I find NATO kinda restrictive, and accurate RUSFOR uniforms are weird. Currently, I'm assembling a loadout using Russian-inspired camo and loadbearing equipment, but without any Russian insignia. It started as a "hey what if I made a pandemic-themed loadout that was a paramilitary operator sent in to clear out pseudo-zombies in a city in order to reclaim it" then it kinda spiraled from there. Now I've got digi-flora gear, Smersh loadbearing equipment, and some miscellaneous items. Oh, and the AK Operator patch. Can't forget the AK Operator patch!
Thanks. I pondered this more and found a couple options other may find useful. safetygearpro.com/product/chicago-cf-2-fm-ast/. This is one I may look further into.
17 - 20 litres should be fine for an assault pack, especially if it has molle on it; that way you can add pouches if really needed to free up some space inside. However if you're doing an admin role take into account the extra stuff you may need to carry. (like spare batteries for your radios and such) It also helps to really make sure your gear is compact and to make sure you can carry everything in your ruck before the event.
hahaha so you say that if I go to my first Milsim I can't be a general hahahahahahahaha :P we don't have Milsim like they have in the usa... Milsim in my country is just another skirm with some modifications to the rules... they last at the longest 8 hours (including breaks) I'd love to have Milsim West style games .in my country but airsoft is kinda new so we're not advanced like that yet... when I win the lotery one of the first things I'll do is go to an Milsim West event :P There is so much thought that goes into a 40 hour game... you really need to think about everything... but that's part of the fun... but as for someone who goes to his first (40 hour) event I would recommand watch a lot of youtube video's and talk a lot to people who have done it before... it's better to take to much then to less..
Hey is this Lutz guy you talk about have a dad named John Lutz. Cuzzz if so I'd be related for I am Tyler Lutz a cousin of his and my father is Chris Lutz which would be ur Lutz's uncle
Robert Gyergyek eh not for a wwii reenactor. We do the same kind of thing just without sewing machines going off and way more immersive for not a fee or at the most 50$ to help pay for lodging if it’s on a military base or for gas money for people who bring out tanks.
