Do you have an updated video on how to correctly use social media platforms to either get in groups or how we can use our own social to get traction to our shops? A lot of these videos are confusing or not even about promoting our products to Etsy or Amazon?? You are one of the most thorough, knowledgeable and transparent YT’er in my opinion! Ty Mandy!!
Hi Mandy, I just found your channel and subscribed…thank you for the valuable info! I am brand new to this and wondering if you only sell on Etsy, or if you sell on other sites as well? I’m concerned with the frequent reports of Etsy shops being shut down and people not being able to get support from Etsy.
Great video, Mandy. I have a question. May I know if you source your comfort color shirts from SwiftPOD and how has your experience been so far with their print quality lately? Also do you recommend monster digital and printful for sourcing apparel?
Yes! I use SwiftPod via Printify. Every once in awhile I get a fading issue and Printify will replace, but for the most part it's been fine the majority of the time. I have occasionally used other printers (like Monster Digital) or other providers (like Printful or Awkward Styles), but it's typically only when I need them as a backup 😊
Hi Mandy, really love your videos and the contents you created. I purchased your Q4 strategy File, really solid information and I learned a lot. Just wondering how to get the other half of your calendar? 😆 Very helpful and highly recommended ❤
Same with copycats. Last Christmas one of my bestselling holiday designs was everywhere. I first tried contacting shops asking them to remove it (some did and some refused), then resorted to reporting the shops who were doing it because it was so time consuming to contact everyone individually. Half of the reports were countered. The whole experience made Q4 more time consuming and more stressful. I had anxiety everyday between copycats, customer service messages and balancing my bank account with my order volume. Hoping for a less stressful Q4 this year but I’ll take it if it means a more successful one! lol
@@gypbail77 No. Copyright is automatic in the U.S. and protects your work as soon as it's created. You can opt to register them which, for larger businesses and big sellers makes sense but for small business and graphic designers, it’s not usually done because of the cost and time involved. I believe if you plan to take legal action for infringement you may need to register your design. I’m not certain though. I’ve also had SHEIN copy a few of my designs. I provided them proof that it was my design and when it was created and listed by me - they took their listing down afterwards.
One of the biggest problems with copycats are many live overseas (I’m in the U.S.). They just counter and, short of hiring an international lawyer and contacting embassies (lol), you’re right where you were. Some of them even retaliate and make IP claims against each one of your listings, just to cause you havoc and entertain their clever selves. I’ve learned, as Mandy says, to skip the heartache and fury and just press on. When I have a Bestseller or Popular Now badge, I immediately assume that the cockroaches are scurrying over and I don’t even look. I wish Etsy would stop with the badges, as they are the lights that attract the bugs.
Mandy this was awesome!! Congrats on a phenomenal month just in time to upgrade to business class! That was perfect timing. This video was super inspirational! I’m so excited about my little shop and looking forward to it growing consistently.
Great video! Would you be willing to make a TikTok shop tutorial? I can’t find valuable info on RU-vid on this topic. Everything is vague or not a complete tutorial. I’m really trying figure out TikTok shop with POD. 😅
Question. Would you say it's acceptable to raise the price of your products to be able to discount them at a higher percentage? Say 40% to compete with others for black Friday and Cyber Monday because POD products are already hard to discount unless you want to only make a few bucks a sale.
If you report them for copy right and they counter what is the procedure? Are you able to show proof you made the design or because they counter then it’s your word against theirs and Etsy doesn’t pursue any further action? Thank you
I have one item in my shop that gets a lot of traffic, a lot of favorites but no purchases I'm perplexed by this

Wondering what you do when people message you asking just for the design files.. I keep saying no but wondering if I should sell them if people are going to steal them anyways? Would love to know what you do!! And congrats on that month, that's amazing!!!
I also say no when I get requests 😊 They can be sold in the same shop, but for me personally if I were to start selling them I would do it in a different shop so as not to create confusion with existing customers.
Yes! They are all recorded and can be watched at any time (and you will have access to all previous calls as well, including masterclasses (we call them Power Hours) 😊
Oh they definitely paid for the basic flights and all accommodations for us - but I paid to upgrade to business class flights to and from Riga, which is a small fortune for 3 people 😅
I can barely afford the few orders a week I get. lol I can only imagine 4000. wow. Great job… Etsy keep putting reserve/holds on my account and since printify requires upfront payment Its hard. I never hear creators talk about that. If a product goes viral or etsy push’s one randomly a lot of people wouldnt be ready to get them produced in a timely manner
Customers likely won’t, they will buy from whoever they see first or whoever is cheaper, or whoever looks trustworthy (more reviews, more sales, etc). That’s why sales start to get diluted because Etsy will show different results to different customers and customers won’t know any better. Some sellers will put a notice in their listing that they’re the original designer, but it rarely matters to the customer.
@@studiomdesignsco Yeah, I’ve also noticed a lot of shops with a ton of sales with cheap prices. I’m wondering how they’re even making a profit. I’m not doing this for free. I want to make money. But it seems most customers only care about getting a dirt cheap item.
With Printify you can use branded inserts with many of the providers, and several offer branded neck tags as well. You can also start an email lust to build relationships with customers, start social media if you want to connect more - so many things if you choose to! In a marketplace like Etsy it’s less about branding and more about the product and what you create. I have a handmade business and do more branding there - yes it’s different but I actually make more with POD than I do with my handmade business. It’s all in what you do with it 😊
I don’t find it impersonal at all. I have so many repeat customers and have built great relationships with them. Some will only shop with me and bring me design ideas they want me to make for them. I use branded inserts as well.
@@Katsmom6 How do you insert your own packing supplies, thank you cards, etc. Doesn't the POD service do all the shipping. Maybe I am getting something mixed up.
@@Lee_Hazel I think I am getting something wrong here. But my business is personal, to me. For example, I created my own thank you cards, product care guides, mailing envelope colors, labels, etc. because that's what I like. Hope that makes sense. I'm always open to suggestions and learning.
Congratulations Mandy, all that you provide for free it's nice to see the universe giving some back to you (not that you didn't work hard to "luck" into the sales).
A business credit card connected to Printify. I was pretty much paying it off every other day to keep up with my balance 😅 The benefit of that method though is my business card earns cashback rewards 😊
0:18 every time I see a thumbnail like those you’re showing either or i ignore the video or choice the option do not recommend me this video. I hate those expressions on the thumbnails
