It took a long time, but I finally understand this whole timeline business for Fate and Type Moon. Which world/universe is your favorite?

Surprisingly I mostly understood all of this just by playing FGO and Extra. The curve ball for me was actually that Marisbury won the ONLY holy grail war in this timeline. Assumed it was an alternate of the 4th or 5th since most flash back shots still look like relatively present day Fuyuki.

One little theory I've came up with about Reality Marbles has to do with the Concept of an Individual's Origin. In the Garden of Sinners, it is stated that an Origin is a sealed, unrealised state most of the time. When a person awakens their Origin, they become it conceptually. They literally became a physical manifistation of their Origin, unable to change or deviate from it in anyway shape or form, however. It is possible to control it somewhat, but its extremely difficult. For example, Lio Shirazumi awakened his Origin of "Conssumption," and was granted the ability to eat anything and never get full. Awakening an Origin can be done through extreme traumatic situations, artificually through Magecraft, or accidentally. This is where Reality Marbles Comes in. As a person's Origin can awaken in the ways above, Shirou Emiya quite possibily woke up his Origin of "Sword," during the Fuyuki Fire. This had also heavily influenced his life from then on. This would make Shirou extremely mentally fucked up beyond saving. Now, as a Reality Marble is the closet thing to True Magic, what people don't consider is the Origin. It is also Akashic - "The Root" - in origin, as well. All Origin's come from Akasha, get reforged by Akasha, influenced by it, and leave it freely. Thus, an Origin can be said to be a form of True Magic in of itself. A Reality Marble is the manifestation of a person's "Inner World." It's an Universe created by the soul of the individual. It would make sense for a person's Origin to either influence the creation of a Reality Marble, or directly cause it. This also explains why Reality Marbles are so difficult to make, as it would require to unlock your Origin. When you think about it? Reality Marbles and Origin's are interwined. One cannot exist without the other. A person's Origin could also be determined if you observe an individual's Reality Marble, and visa versa. I bet Merlin's Origin from The Seven Deadly Sins would be "Infinity." That skill of her's is broken beyond belief!

Another great lesson, helps me develop my own timeline for a Fate story I am currently writing.

It deals with another of nasu's work called Tsuki no Sango and how it answers what lostbelt trees are (and what the alien god actually is, maybe) Spoiler: . . It points out how in the work there are 2 humanities, one that stayed behind on earth and other that moved to the moon and lost the passion for not stagnating. The important part is that they develop perpetual motion machines called Spiriton Accelerators - infinite energy.... Oh, I can’t wait for the next lesson. I really have no idea what the Reverse Side of the World is. I know a handful of random facts about it, but I don’t know how those facts correlate to each other or any more than those base facts.

The introduction of a multiverse is practically a godsend to fanfic writers everywhere with the idea that, if there are uncountable different realities in as many universes, then basically ANYTHING is possible. It’s a playground without limit where potential writers can explore countless possibilities to their hearts content. Want to imagine a timeline where Fujimaru DID save the world alongside Team A? Now you can. Want to contemplate a reality where several characters from Type-Moon met and fought with figures from Hunter x Hunter? Now you can. Want to imagine an alternate Zero where the Masters summoned a second Servant and radically altered the war? You CAN!!! The potential is virtually limitless. EDIT: As an example, I just found a fanfic where Ritsuka was summoned to the 5th Fuyuki Holy Grail War. In addition to a number of other changes, Medea was able to summon not just Kojirō but SALTER as well. The author wrote an omake where Fujimaru easily turned things around by accidentally summoning Morgan, leaving her and Medea to play a magical tug of war with Salter’s command seals (Morgan can easily grab them thanks to her experience with the existence tax from her original Lostbelt, but Medea keeps snatching them back with Rule Breaker), then Fujimaru offers a trump card in the form of hamburger-kun, appealing to Salter’s adoration for junk food. It’s as HILARIOUS as it sounds.

Mage craft lesson today. Yes I ask the profound question always. what is time!!? I know about that great big tree of time. I'm a competitor of the holy grail war and I'm thankful to be apart of the different altamente worlds. I enjoyed the moment of quantum time look. I'm all about time and adjacent worlds. I know what I'm doing and it's awesome coming in contact with parallel worlds.!!!

I'm surprised you didn't address Fate/Kaleid since it's one of the biggest examples of multiversal travel in Fate.

In a nutshell the fate series is comparable to the multiverse

Honestly I never saw the problem with timelines myself as I love to organize things in numbers when reading series that have background information I like a straight forward timeline more like knk where we can see one long journey the Characters have as that is the weakness of routes as all that development is erased and the only upside to that is if you hated the main girl the mc got with or in this case the fmc to mc. Seeing shiki as a whole was fantastic. Tsukuhime to the remake I just say it's basically FF 7 remake where it's not a remake it's a different story all together with similar Characters but even that I a stretch to say as they are completely different in a different world with phones. Love how kalied is the only story to directly show a pruned timeline where the Characters fail to an alternative timeline after the fact when illya travels back in time to see Erika but nobody cares about it as Chloe scares them off or anime only people who think they understand the story(they don't) Fsn is basically how many times Shirou messes up with how many bad ends he has that are more logical to where he would honestly end up without plot armor. Meanwhile Rin and archer emiya are probably the only Characters who actually can move past fsn and continue to grow as people in ha to parts of El mellioi strange fake and fgo where we hear all the accomplishments these two have with stopping the grail war. Blasting hercules. Dismantling the grail. Etc. Apoc while the anime was terrible it doesn't get enough appreciation for how different the cast of fsn is when they never get involved in the war where Shirou is a lawyer. Rin has a lot more confidence. Sakura is an edefelt Instead(as tokioimi always gives her away as nobody aside her actual sister wants her) and illya would not be born as Kerry wouldn't be hired by the einzberg family as another justeave would be made Instead as amakusa was summoned Instead of angra. So may small details. Fgo is a mess of conflicting stories and timelines as the writers almost never keep track of it having too many cooks. At most I treat it as a floating timeline as the events that "could" happen to the mc but don't really aside the main story bits from par 1 lostbelt and the exception of anything bb is in as she exists and funny enough ishtar and Ereshkigal too as ereshkigal remembers the most of her journey aside mashu who is the fmc if everything so ereshkigal would probably be the better made one for the timeline Seeing her past present and future. Everything else is basically erased somewhat each time as they don't really get mentioned or referenced much as they didn't matter to the major story plot

I wonder how the counterforce and the fate universe as a whole would handle a AI singularity by that I mean what would happen if someone made an AI that was smarter than humans and then that AI was made to upgrade itself to be smarter than it was before and because it kept getting smarter it was able to upgrade itself faster and faster until it reaches a certain point where it practically has infinite intelligence I wonder how the Earth would respond to that because a super intelligent AI isn't something that you can just punch really hard and make it go away.

Pretty “ballsey” taking on the monumental task of explaining time and alternate worlds within the Nasu-verse ! 😂 but seriously, great job 👏🏻 I would just like to point out though that the holy grail was ALWAYS corrupted by Angra Mainyu, ever since the third holy grail war. It’s Shirou’s actions / decisions themselves that caused the shatter point delving into the three different timelines. It wasn’t ONLY in the Heavens Feel route. Again, just to clarify to any “newbies” who may read this.

So to put it short, Type Moon does operate on a Multiverse right ?

F/EXTRA CCC, Gilgamesh end bringing Rakunou to a "consumption based" alien civilization and the Olimpian Machine Gods and Sefar show the universe favours "diversity" of lifeforms. Humans are more like bacteries in the bioesphere of the Universe.
