Regarding keeping dust out of your van, we use that clear plastic school book covering to do all the larger vents. Cheap & easy to use. We cover both fridge vents too and never had a problem. Just buy a few rolls at the cheapy discount shops.

The spot you change to could be the spot left by someone else the day before. The crocs don't restart the count because you weren't there before....

Great piece guys. Solar - like you, I'm a firm believer that you can't have too much solar; but you can have too much battery. The 10% rule is pretty good - 10% solar to battery - so I have 360W roof top solar for 375Ah of Lithium (two fridges, lights, camera batteries and so on). Battery - I've shifted from AGM to Lithium; expensive - yes. Benefits? They take up Amps far quicker than AGMs, can go to 90% DoD and survice for many more cycles, and can be stored between 60-80% DoD - in my case this is a 30 min, 15A charge once a week. Crocs - If brevity is the soul of wit, then I'll keep this brief; from my research and experience - 1) crocs in an ocean beach: they are generally transiting from one river mouth to another, for various reasons. 2) crocs resting on an ocean beach: they are generally crocs who are tired from a long transit, or are younger or older males who have been kicked out from their river space, and don't know what the transit distance actually is. Cheers, Stu
@Sparkysontheloose
@Sparkysontheloose 5 лет назад
Yes we are very tempted to jump onto the Lithium batteries, a lot more pros then cons. The story that amz mentioned was right next to a small creek mouth so that could be a reason they were hanging around. Cheers Stu

Middle River KI - lovely spot - you should have fished for bream and mulloway right where you were, that spot produces regularly, especialy at dusk and dawn (and no crocs!) Marron are better upstream in the really fresh water.

Cheers Frank, We were tempted to camp up at middle river but the weather was really hit and miss. We didn't have much success on the marron front.
