@@anevildoer9252 I don't know what fans are debating about Louis' sexuality because it's very clear in the books that both Louis and Lestat are bisexual so I think the show changing that is unnecessary.

@@Firespawnable They 100% changed it to keep the relationship between Louis and Claudia platonic. Plus it adds an element to Louis' characterisation that he can't "hide" in society the way Lestat does, so I think it works. But I'm def willing to bet that his relationship with Claudia is why they made this change.

@@mieroth Yeah, I agree! 💯😄 I thought of that same thing too because in the books Louis was bisexual and he actually fell in love with Claudia which is GROSS! 🤢🤮 so that's why I also believe that the show probably changed Louis' sexuality from bisexual into gay so it could avoid the pedophile part of his relationship with Claudia 💀 BUT that really makes no sense because we see that in the books Lestat is bisexual and he was not attracted to Claudia (because Lestat likes grown women not little girls) 😆 and they kept that in the show like for example, the scene when Claudia asks which one of them was going to fuck her? Lestat tells Claudia that she's not his type lol 😂 so the show could have done the same thing with Louis' character 😒 I still think it's unnecessary and kind of ridiculous if the show really felt like it had to change Louis' entire sexuality to a gay man just so he could have a relationship with Claudia that isn't creepy. 🙄 when really all the show had to do was NOT make Louis be a pedophile with Claudia 😑 and then they could have just kept Louis as bisexual like he is in the books. 😖 I would have loved see Louis and Lestat as both being hot bisexual vampires. 😍 🌈 That would have made their three-some with Lily even more sexy lol 🤭

@@Firespawnable It's an important part of Claudia's and Louis' relationship though that they are co-dependent. That's why in the show you have Claudia talking to Louis while he is having sex with Lestat. They didn't shy away from depicting these unhealthy parts of their relationship, and it would have a different vibe had Louis been into women too. Lestat has a completely different relationship with Claudia, you would never question the appropriateness of their relationship. While this question would 100% have come up in regards to Louis and Claudia's relationship had he been bi, especially knowing what we do of book canon. So it really comes down to what you prefer to focus on, and removing the unhealthy aspects of Louis' and Claudia's relationship isn't an option since it's very important to the story. So they simply altered the dynamic of that a bit by making Louis a gay man.

@@mieroth Girl, I'm not sure if you are trying to criticize the show or if you are trying to defend the show for changing Louis' sexuality 🙄 I hope really you're not trying to defend the show because it's wrong lol 😂 Yes, of course Louis and Claudia are obviously co-dependent on each other and yes it is unhealthy but that's a whole different conversation 🙄 Just because Louis and Claudia have unhealthy parts to their relationship in the books does NOT mean that the show had to change Louis into a gay man. 😒 That is ridiculous. 😖 Obviously the show didn't shy away from showing the OTHER unhealthy parts of Louis and Claudia's relationship but we BOTH just agreed with eachother on how we think that the big reason why the show changed Louis into a gay man is because the show was trying to avoid the pedophile relationship Louis had with Claudia in the books 💀 which I'm not against because I already said that Louis falling in love with Claudia in the books is gross and disgusting and I think THAT pedophile part definitely needed to be changed because it's nasty. 🤢🤮 But the part of Louis being bisexual did NOT need to be changed because there is nothing wrong with Louis being bisexual 😅 So my point is that the show could have still kept Louis being bisexual just WITHOUT making him be a pedophile towards Claudia 😂 it doesn't matter if delusional people would have still speculated about him and Claudia's relationship because if the show had just had a very CLEAR scene of Louis saying he loves Claudia like a daughter it would have let people know his feelings for her are not romantic or sexual like it is for other women 😅 and that would have cleared up the whole problem 😆 But the fact that the show chose to change Louis from a bisexual man into a gay man is called *Bisexual Erasure* 😑 and the show should not have totally erased Louis bisexuality because that is very offensive to the LGBTQIA+ community. 🌈 🙄
