I love everything in long formats! (the short format is always funny, but I like the deep dive, because just saying yes or no for something, it's the same information I can get from so many other dermatologist/aesthetician online - I haven't seen your kind of deep dives anywhere else, it's unique to your platform) I would love for you to explain different procedure and when to get them (age wise) and for what concerns they are for, how often to get them etc. for example: microneedling, hydro facial, fractional laser, vampire facial, fillers.... just to name a few :)

I would love to see a long video talking about how topical ingredients are able to penetrate the skin. Which ones penetrate easily? Which ones won’t penetrate? Which ones are a waste of money? Does the order of layering matter? Also, do you have any recommendations for hand creams? Also, could perhaps say something about the products from One Skin? Thank you for all you do. I have learned so much with you. Merry Christmas! Happy new year!
@cherylmyers5095
@cherylmyers5095 Год назад
Love your question regarding ingredient penetration. I would take it one step further in asking about how the cells 'communicate' with each other. For example, if I put a small dab of Retinol on my cheeks, then spread it around, by the time my fingers get to the lower cheek/jawline area, very little (if any) of the retinol product is being applied to the skin surface. Will the cells which are receiving the 'heavier' product application spread those benefits to the areas receiving very minimal/none of the product (hopefully that makes sense). Would also love Dr. Idriss to go into a little more background info when she says one brand is less desirable than another ... example: why one brand of micellular water is better to use/does a better job (Bioderma) than another (Garnier)(I may not have the brands correct). Why?

Layering products are good depending on age. We know collagen depletes starting in our early 20's or earlier. Layering from our thirtie's or earlier. A Lamellar skincare is best for skincare going to the deeper layer's of the skin and keep's the products working as long too.

Dr. Idriss, the packaging looks very high end, which is what I expect coming from you!!! Now I am curious, if you would be so kind to do a video on Ablative Laser skin resurfacing, including the reduction of sun damage, combined with PRP. I have witnessed it first hand probably a dozen times. But at age 69, it will be for me this time, and things might have evolved over the past four years since I was in an office while it occurred. Whatever you decide, I will be back with my hands folded on my desk patiently waiting for your next class to begin. Seriously though, you do an extraordinary job explaining in depth for all your little skin nerds, every aspect, every detail, and effects of the areas you chose to cover that NO ONE CAN TOUCH YOU. As someone who hates being second, that quality is admirable, and necessary today. You know you're good Dr. Idriss, but you still need to hear it from us, and I have no hesitation in spelling it out. Hi doc, can you do a video addressing the issue of retinoid usage around the eyes might cause damage on meibomian glands as stated by some eye doctors online? I saw some opthalmologists or eye doctors online telling people to avoid retinoids around eyes because you can damage the meibomian glands, not damaging the skin but the eyes.
@nadoh6253

Yes, that would be interesting. Avene has an eye product that include retinaldehyde, so a clip on retinoid usage around the eyes would address concerns that some of us have. Merci!
@gtan307
@gtan307 Год назад
@@nadoh6253 Yes, because most dermatologists avoid having to talk about the effects on the eyes (meibomian glands) , and only talk about the potential sensitivity skin wise. Some eye doctors online even go extra length by saying that even retinoid eye creams are also not safe to be put close to the eyes, not because of the skin sensitivity but because of some people develop meibomian glands dysfunction due to retinoid usage around eyes.

Add someone who had a broken skin barrier I suggest the CeraVe night renewing cream or the Walgreens version. I use CeraVe at night and the store brand in the morning. But if you're on a tight budget I suggest mixing the la-roche posay triple lipid ap Baum and the regular CeraVe moisturizer and just sealing it in with Vaseline. These all work the same if you get the exact products or do something very similar. Also if you wanna spend more the Skin fix triple lipid plus cream is so so similar to the skinceuticals one. Money is an important factor and that's why I take care of my skin at home and learn my ingredients. Also I'm thinking of going back to esthetician school this time a good school one they a doesn't get shut down

I would love examples. That could be a long video. - For shorts I would like to see: darts spot treatments for acne (do they really work?), fast remedies for damaged skin barrier (and how long to use them before introducing the actives back), men and kids skincare examples (I always wonder why I need SPF in the normal winter day but not my hubby or kids or what is the age for kids to start using it regularly, same with other skincare for kids?), more funny videos about real male (and female) skincare failures,... @@Lisa-ny5ke I've used the triple oat serum. Serums typically go on under moisturizers (moisturizers are last except sunscreen). Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the triple oat serum, I didn't think it did much for me. I was talking about the triple oat balm, which is more like the serum mixed with vaseline. I use it at night with my retinoid and I get ZERO retinoid irritation now.

Shiny/dewy, I think you look radiant!Have you tried a more blue-red (like a blood red)? I think that would look amazing on you. YSL’s tattouage couture are my lifelong favorites, highly recommend.

I've been using curel daily body lotion for years, and my skin can never be thankful enough for it. It also contains ceramide that helps keep my skin hydrating for hours during winter.

hello Shereene, i enjoy your content and personality very much, thanks for educating us while making us smile. In one of your videos, you touched upon under eye bags and puffiness, and i've delved into the world of under eyelid surgery. i'm about your age and not quite ready to go there yet, so it could be interesting to make a video on alternatives to surgery from a derma / cosmetology stand-point. But perhaps you've already covered this in your previous video. thanks a lot.

Hi! Thanks for the video! Thanks for asking. I would prefer, if you please, to see long format video on a deep dive about collagen/elastin stimulation using in-office-procedures. How it happens, what occurs inside the body, the difference between good and bad inflamation, the difference between doing it using technology devices and using biostimulatory substances. Would love to hear about plla (also if the volume it gave back to hiv patients came from extra collagen or something else) and prp (for collagen, under eye "filler", not hair growth). Also, the difference between collagen 1 and collagen III and how each in-office-procedure produces each. I know it is a lot, but as much as you can, I would love to learn more about this if you could. Thanks.

id love to see a video on the best way to target scars like ice pick rolling etc, including any potential topicals and the best actual treatments/procedures you can get! also, i think it would be cool to talk abt all the different skin concerns out there in one video, and how to know if you are experiencing it. for example one of the topics would be like hyperpigmentation and you’d show pictures and explain how to know if you have it! it can be hard to tell as a regular folk what you are even dealing with! also- i got your major fade products, just about ran out and preordered some more! absolutely obsessed- you can tell your heart is in it🫶🏻

I would love to see a long format video with review of The ordinary products: which ones deserve our attention and which better to skip? It’s still one of my favourite brands but I am not sure how it compares to other ones objectively.
