Hi Kim. I started baking cakes using condensed milk. I’ll make like a strawberry cake in a cake pan. Once it’s done, I use a straw and make holes through the top. Then I pour the sweetened condensed milk over it and let it soak in. I throw it in the freezer for maybe 30 min. Then I put cool whip on top. Really good. Can do without cool whip too if some don’t like topping. Also my sister in law cooks her cabbage with bacon in a frying pan. I haven’t tried it yet but I hear it’s good.

Growing up, I was raised alongside my aunts & uncles & cousins! We frequently had Sunday dinner. When I visited my Grandma in Oklahoma, as families migrated back "home" from Calif (where I still live all my life), Sunday dinner again!! Pot roast,chicken & dumplings, Grandma's Oklahoma meat loaf, mashed taters, gravy, fried cabbage with bacon, fried okra! Yum! Watching you is a treat! Love you,Levi & entire Morrow clan as you process your gruef in the loss of Uncle Raleigh! Prayers to you all & especially Aunt Joanne! Caregiving & hospice is a stressful time!🙏✝️💖😘

Kim, you’re amazing! There must not be anything you can’t do on a farm. You cook, bake, great mom, you do crafts and you build things like put in showers, build something for some fowl, ect….. too many things to list. I’m so glad you got this channel. You’re just real people living your life. I love it and you as well as your whole extended family. Thank you for sharing. And even if I don’t make this comment after every video, and I won’t, just know it’s true every time. (I’m Vee, retired Phys Ed teacher from NYC that was born and raised on a dairy farm just outside of Wichita Ks. I have 2 children and 8 grandchildren.)

My great grandma used to make a chicken meal in her Nesco almost exactly like that. In fact, we called it “Nana’s chicken”, and is still one of the best homemade meals!🥰 My condolences to the Morrow family on the passing of Uncle Raleigh.

Kim, do you put anything else on your cabbage when you eat it? I just cooked a head yesterday for dinner. I braised it in a skillet on the stove with a little onion, salt, and pepper. Then, about a half an hour before it was done, I added some butter, some sliced up Kielbasa and some new potatoes. OMG!!!! It was SOOO good. I had 2 plates full. My Dad always put butter and mustard on his cabbage, so having grown up watching him do it, I also eat it that way. I LOVE cabbage!!! And I enjoyed your take on the German Chocolate cake. It looks so good. I'll bet there was none left when it was all said and done. Thank you for sharing yours and Levi's life with us. 💜🐾🐾💜

I agree the cake is "homemade," not store bought. If you had made it from flour, sugar, eggs, etc., I would say that was "made from scratch." That's how my granny explained it. I, too, love cabbage. Yum yum, I wish I was having that meal with y'all! I was short on potatoes once for a family gathering and wanted to make mashed potatoes. So, I boiled what I had and mixed the other half with instant potatoes. No one could tell the difference. 😉 May the Lord comfort you and your family with the loss of a loved one.
Hey Kim, I made this recipe & mashed potatoes/carrots together for Sunday also. Always a go to recipe, my Mom taught me this. You do your cabbage the way I do it also…yum! We are in Canada 🇨🇦
